LUCINDA CHILDS (Choreographer, Notes) attended Sarah Lawrence College (1958-62) and began her career as a choreographer in the early 1960s as a member of the seminal Judson Dance Theater. She formed her own company in 1973 and, three years later, was featured in the landmark avant-garde opera Einstein on the Beach by Phillip Glass and Robert Wilson.

In 1979, Childs choreographed one of her most enduring works, Dance, with music by Philip Glass and film décor by Sol LeWitt, for which she was awarded a Guggenheim fellowship.

Dance has toured internationally with the Lucinda Childs Dance Company and was added to the repertory of the Lyon Opera Ballet in 2016. In addition to work for her own group, Childs has choreographed over thirty works for major ballet companies. She has also directed and choreographed Philip Glass’ Akhnaten for l’Opéra de Nice Côte d’Azur and in September of this year she directed a new production of Philip Glass’ Satyagraha. In 2016, at an exhibit titled Nothing Personal, Childs' choreographic scores were shown at the Thaddeus Ropac Gallery in collaboration with the Centre Nationale de la Danse, to which she has donated her archive. Childs holds the rank of Commandeur in France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

In 2017, she received the Golden Lion award from the Venice Biennale and the Samuel H. Scripps American Dance Festival award for lifetime achievement and received an honorary doctorate from Université Côte d’Azur in 2021.

CAITLIN SCRANTON (Stager, Notes) holds a B.A. in History from Smith College and is a New York-based dancer, teacher, and producer. Since 2009, she has been a soloist with the Lucinda Childs Dance Company, performing from 2012-2016 in the revival of the iconic opera Einstein on the Beach. She has also worked with Cornfield Dance, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Phantom Limb, Mark Morris Dance Group, Christopher Williams, Annie B. Parson, Netta Yerushalmy, and Pam Tanowitz. In 2015, she co-founded the dance production company The Blanket, which produces the work of Lucinda Childs and others. She has been setting works for Ms. Childs since 2015. In addition to performing and producing, she teaches at Sarah Lawrence College.

DREW JACOBY (Choreographer, Jack) was born in Boise, Idaho (USA) in 1984, where she spent summers on scholarship at intensive programs including School of American Ballet in New York. At 14, Drew left Boise to study at San Francisco Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle. In 2005, she was invited to join Sylvie Guillem’s Japan tour, performing alongside

dancers from The Royal Ballet and Paris Opera Ballet. She founded her own company with former Dutch National Ballet soloist Rubinald Pronk based in New York City and toured to venues such as Jacob’s Pillow and Holland Dance Festival from 2007-2012. In 2012, Drew was invited to join Nederlands Dans Theater before joining Royal Ballet of Flanders as a principal dancer in 2015. She has performed works by choreographers including William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Maurice Bejart, George Balanchine, Jean Christophe Maillot, and Pina Bausch, and has had original works created on her by Christopher Wheeldon, Lightfoot Leon, Marco Goecke, Crystal Pite, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Alonzo King, Dwight Rhoden, Lar Lubovitch, Edouard Lock, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and Mauro Bigonzeti. Her choreography has been performed at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, Lucent Dans Theater in The Hague, the Royal Opera House in London, and the Joyce Theater in New York. Her work has been reviewed as daring, challenging, highly intelligent, tightly structured, and “one that really did shine a new light on contemporary culture and dance’s place in it.”

TILER PECK (Choreographer, Real Truth) is celebrated as one of today’s greatest American ballerinas, distinguished not only as a principal dancer with New York City Ballet (NYCB) but also as an Olivier-nominated choreographer and multifaceted artist. Renowned for her extensive repertoire, Peck's career highlights include directing the inaugural Artists at the Center for New York City Center, which evolved into the acclaimed Turn it Out with Tiler Peck and Friends, captivating audiences at venues like London’s Sadler’s Wells and across California. She has choreographed for prestigious companies including Boston Ballet, Northern Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, and Ballet X, with her recent work for NYCB, Concerto For Two Pianos, marking another milestone in her choreographic journey. Beyond ballet, Peck is an author, designer, & actress, having made significant contributions to film and television, choreographing for John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum and appearing in productions such as The Barre Project, Netflix's Tiny Pretty Things, Hulu’s documentary Ballet NOW, and Prime Video’s Étoile.

ANDREW VEYETTE (Choreographic Assistant, Real Truth) was born in Denver, Colorado. He began his dance training at the age of nine with Betty Downs at Dance Arts in Visalia, California, continuing his studies at Westside Ballet in Santa Monica, California with Yvonne Mounsey, where he was personally coached by Nader Hamed. Mr. Veyette entered the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, in the fall of 1998. In the spring of 2000, Mr. Veyette became an apprentice with New York City Ballet, and later that season he joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet. In March of 2006 he was promoted to the rank of soloist, and he became a principal dancer in May 2007. Since joining New York City Ballet, Mr. Veyette has danced featured roles in numerous ballets by George Balanchine, Mauro Bigonzetti, August Bournonville, Eliot Feld, Pontus Lidberg, Lauren Lovette, Peter Martins, Justin Peck, Alexei Ratmansky, Jerome Robbins, Liam Scarlett, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Twyla Tharp, Peter Walker, and Christopher Wheeldon. At NYCB, he has also originated featured roles in ballets by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Warren Carlyle, Mr. Martins, Alexey Miroshnichenko, Mr. Peck, Richard Tanner, Troy Schumacher, and Mr. Wheeldon. Outside of NYCB, Mr. Veyette has performed as a guest artist with American Ballet Theatre in George Balanchine’s Theme and Variations, as well as in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker and Balanchine’s Slaughter on Tenth Avenue with Pennsylvania Ballet. Additionally, he appeared in the 2010 film adaptation of Jerome Robbins’ N.Y. Export: Opus Jazz. Mr. Veyette was a 2000 Mae L. Wien Award recipient and studied under the Janice Levin Scholarship at SAB. ANNE PLAMONDON (Choreographer, Will You Catch My Fall) made her choreographic debut with Les mêmes yeux que toi in 2012 and founded Anne Plamondon Productions in 2018.

Her works have been presented at the National Arts Centre, Jacob’s Pillow, the Guggenheim Museum, and aired on CBC Arts and Télé-Québec. She has choreographed for Ballet Edmonton, Ballets Jazz de Montréal, and is developing a new creation for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens (2026). From 2006 to 2015, she danced with Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot on multiples productions such as A Picture of You Falling. From 2002 to 2012, alongside Victor Quijada, she co-directed and performed with Rubberbandance, contributing to the repertoire and the development of the Rubberband method. In the span of her career, she also danced with Les Grands

Ballets Canadiens, Nederlands Dans Theater 2, Gulbenkian Ballet, performing the works of Jiří Kylián, Johan Inger, Ohad Naharin, Paul Lightfoot and Sol León, and collaborated with Marie Chouinard and Marcos Morau. Her recent creation Myokine toured in Canada, the U.S., New Zealand, and Germany. Her first dance film premieres this year.

JEFFREY CIRIO (Principal Dancer, Boston Ballet) began his training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Boston Ballet School. A decorated competitor, he won medals at Youth America Grand Prix, U.S. International Ballet Competition, and Helsinki International Ballet Competition—becoming the first American to win gold there. He joined Boston Ballet II in 2007 and rose to Principal Dancer by 2012. Cirio joined American Ballet Theatre as a Soloist in 2015, was promoted to Principal in 2016, and later danced as Lead Principal with English National Ballet, earning National Dance Award nominations and winning Outstanding Male Classical Performance in 2022 for Akram Khan’s Creature. He’s performed globally and appeared at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2014. Cirio co-founded Cirio Collective and has choreographed for several leading institutions. He returned to Boston Ballet as a Principal in 2022, continuing a career known for versatility, artistry, and acclaim across classical and contemporary repertoire.

OSIEL GOUNEO (Principal Dancer, Bayerisches Staatsballett) is considered one of the greatest dancers of his generation and a true celebrity of the international dance scene. Born in Cuba, Osiel's exceptional jumping power and outstanding technique have earned him widespread recognition and admiration from audiences around the world. Osiel began his ballet training at the prestigious Cuban National Ballet School in Havana in 2005. After joining the Cuban National Ballet in 2008, he quickly rose to the position of Principal Dancer in 2011. In 2013, Osiel joined the Norwegian National Ballet before becoming a Principal Dancer with The Bayerisches Staatsballett for the 2016/17 season. He has performed on many of the world's most important stages, including The Coliseum in London, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, and the Lincoln Center in New York, as well as the Paris Opera and National Theatre Japan in Tokyo. In addition to his performances with The Bayerisches Staatsballett, Osiel has also guested as Principal Dancer with some of the most prestigious dance companies, including the English National Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Paris Opera, Teatro Colon, Opera Roma, and numerous dance festivals and galas. Osiel's numerous recognitions and awards speak for themselves, including the Gold medal at the Cuban Grand Prix, the Gold medal at the Beijing International Ballet Competition, and the Silver medal at the Varna International Ballet Competition, among others. ALBAN LENDORF (Principal Dancer) is "one of the world's most exceptional dancers."

(The New York Times) After graduating from the Royal Danish Ballet School in Copenhagen in 2008, he was the Principal Dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet (2011-2019) and American Ballet Theater (2015-2019.) Albert Lendofr has performed the leading role in Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Romeo & Juliet, Manon, Lady of the Camelias, Apollo, La Bayadére, Le Corsaire, La Sylphide, Coppelia, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Le Jeune Homme et La Mort, Napoli, Etudes, and many more. He has performed as a Guest Artist with English National Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and Stanislavsky Ballet Theatre. SIPHESIHLE NOVEMBER (Principal Dancer, National Ballet of Canada) trained at Canada's national Ballet School (2010-2017) before joining The National Ballet of Canada in 2017. He was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2021. His repertoire spans both classical and contemporary works, with standout performances in Swan Lake, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, The Dream, Anna Karenina, The Winter's Tale, Angels' Atlas, and Chroma. He has collaborated with leading choreographers including Wayne McGregor,

Crystal Pite, Aszure Barton, Mthuthuzeli November, and Alexei Ratmansky. Among his accolades, November is the 2019 winner of the Erik Bruhn Prize, a Harry Jerome Arts Award recepient, and was named to Dance Magazine's prestigious list of "25 to Watch."

Pointe Magazine has praised his "unmistakable charisma and musicality," while Maclean's described him as "a transformative figure redefining what ballet can look like."

DANIIL SIMKIN (Principal Dancer, Creative Director) is a world-renowned principal dancer and cultural innovator celebrated for his technical brilliance and digital-forward approach to ballet. After beginning his career at the Vienna State Opera, he joined American Ballet Theatre in 2008, rising to Principal Dancer in 2012. In 2018, he joined Staatsballett Berlin as a Principal, maintaining a prestigious dual career between New York and Berlin. Trained for over a decade by his mother, Olga Aleksandrova, Simkin balances classical discipline with a passion for cutting-edge technology. He is a pioneer in using social media to engage global audiences, making ballet accessible to the digital generation. In 2021, he founded Studio Simkin, a production company for independent projects and immersive concepts. Building on the success of INTENSIO (2015) and the award-winning film Diorama, the Studio focuses on blurring the lines between performance and collective experience. Notable works include Cave: Convergence Part One, a collaboration with the Martha Graham Dance Company and Hofesh Shechter that culminates in a communal rave. Today, Studio Simkin continues to develop site-specific technological integrations and full-audience immersions, pushing the boundaries of where and how dance is experienced.

TOMAS KARLBORG (Ballet Master), born in Linköping, Sweden, received his dance training at the Ballet School of the Royal Swedish Opera. In 1980, he joined the Norwegian National Opera Ballet, moving to Germany in 1981 to dance with the Bonn Opera Ballet. In 1983, he became a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin ballet company, rising to soloist in 1986 and first soloist in 1989. His most important roles included Onegin and Prince Gremin in Cranko’s Onegin, the Leader in Maurice Béjart’s Le Sacre du printemps, Wotan and Gunther in Béjart’s Ring um den Ring, the Partisan in Béjart’s Firebird, von Erztum (partnering Natalia Makarova) in Roland Petit’s The Blue Angel, Phoebus in Petit’s Notre-Dame de Paris, Swann and Charlus in Petit’s Les Intermittences du cœur, King Marke in John Neumeier’s Tristan and Isolde, the Stepmother (en pointe) in Valery Panov’s Cinderella, the Moor in Harris Mandafounis’ Petrushka, the Inquisitor (a speaking role) in Christopher Bruce’s Cruel Garden, Madge in Peter Schaufuss’ La Sylphide, and Dr. Coppelius in Ronald Hynd’s Coppélia. He also performed an extensive Balanchine repertoire, including the male leads in Serenade, Symphony in C, and Agon. Over the years, he shaped a large part of the repertoire at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, appearing equally in classical, contemporary, and experimental works. In 1999, he became ballet master, joining Staatsballett Berlin in 2004.

DANIEL DOMENECH (Rehearsal Director/Understudy) began his formal dance training in 2010 at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma in Mardrid. In 2014, after becoming a finalist at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne, he was invited to join San Francisco Ballet's second company under the direction of Patrick Armand. In 2016, Domenech joined the Royal Ballet of Flanders under the artistic direction of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. During his time there, he collaborated with internationally acclaimed choreographers including Pina Bausch, Ohad Naharin, Akram Khan, William Forsythe, Crystal Pite, Maurice Bejart, Jean Christoph Mallot, Édouard Lock, Andonis Foniadakis, Alexander Ekman, and Benjamin Millepied among others.

Since 2022, he has danced as a soloist with Ballett Theater Basel, performing works by Richard Wherlock, Edward Clug, Pontus Lidberg, and others. In 2023, he appeared in the Lady Gaga x Woodkid dance film campaign, choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Domenech is currently working as an independent artist, guesting with Opera Ballet Maribor as a principal dancer in Edward Clug's productions. He is also engaged in a range of international projects, teaching and staging works by Drew Jacoby and Edward Clug.

VLADIMIR RUMYANTSEV (Piano) is an internationally acclaimed pianist, celebrated for his virtuosity and profound interpretations of the piano's vast repertoire. His talent emerged early,

and at just seven years old, he made his debut at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory where he won Moscow's Glinka competition. Rumyantsev received his foundational training at the Gnessin Moscow Special School for Music under Mikhail Khokhlov and later studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Sergey Dorensky, Alexander Bakhchiev, Elena Sorokina, Pavel Nersessian, and Nikolai Lugansky. He earned advanced degrees at the Mannes School of Music in New York under Pavlina Dokovska and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at The Hartt School under the mentorship of Jose Ramos Santana. Rumyantsev has performed worldwide at such prestigious venues as the Moscow Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, Covent Garden, the Mariinsky Theatre, New York City Center, The Kennedy Center, the Great Guild in Riga, the Dzintari Concert Hall, and the Bolshoi Theatre as well as major theaters across China. He has appeared in such renowned festivals as the Golden Mask Festival in Moscow, the Bermuda Piano Festival, The Art of Piano Duo in Boston, IKIF, and the Mannes Summer Piano Festival in New York. His performances of Shostakovich and Stravinsky Concertos led to collaborations with the Mariinsky Ballet, under the batons of Valery Gergiev and Boris Gruzin. Rumyantsev’s performances have been revered by the press, with The New York Times describing his playing of Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations as “excellent,” and The Wall Street Journal noting his “potent” interpretation. In 2024, he recorded Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Sean Hickey for solo piano which was released in early 2025 by Sono Luminus.

Praised by Gramophone for his “virtuosity always informed by awareness of resourcefulness and ambiguity,” Most recently, Rumyantsev toured the world as a solo artist with Twyla Tharp Dance for her Diamond Jubilee and is producing his own concerts of piano and dance alongside Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre, Skylar Brandt. Vladimir Rumyantsev is a Steinway Artist.

MONTY RICHTHOFEN (Poems), known as Maison Hefner, is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice pushes the boundaries of the written word. Working at the intersection of language and visual art, he transforms text into a dynamic medium, integrating poetry and literature across canvases, objects, and performance. His work invites viewers into an active dialogue, exploring how language shapes identity, perception, and the way we navigate the world. Rooted in conceptual art, Richthofen’s practice interrogates self-conception, societal norms, and the fluidity of selfhood in a digitized culture. By placing text on skin and other shifting surfaces, he highlights language as both a tool for expression and a barrier to understanding. Blending traditional and digital techniques, his mixed-media approach mirrors the layered nature of contemporary life and creates space for experimentation, emotion, and cultural critique. Performance plays a central role in his exhibitions, transforming them into immersive encounters that emphasize the fleeting yet impactful nature of language. Often working with materials that change over time, Richthofen reflects on impermanence, memory, and the tension between what is seen and what is felt. His engagement with contemporary art includes collaborations with institutions such as the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf, and Neuer Aachener Kunstverein in Aachen. Through his distinct voice, he encourages audiences to question the status quo and reconsider their own narratives.

ABOUT THE JOYCE THEATER FOUNDATION The Joyce Theater Foundation ("The Joyce," Executive Director, Linda Shelton), a nonprofit organization, has proudly served the dance community for more than four decades. Under the direction of founders Cora Cahan and Eliot Feld, Ballet Tech Foundation acquired and The Joyce renovated the Elgin Theater in Chelsea. Opening as The Joyce Theater in 1982, it was named in honor of Joyce Mertz, beloved daughter of LuEsther T. Mertz. It was LuEsther’s clear, undaunted vision and abundant generosity that made it imaginable and ultimately possible to build the theater. Ownership was secured by The Joyce in 2015. The theater is one of the only theaters built by dancers for dance and has provided an intimate and elegant home for over 500 U.S.-based and international companies. The Joyce has also expanded its reach beyond its Chelsea home through off-site presentations at venues ranging in scope from Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater, to Brooklyn’s Invisible Dog Art Center, and to outdoor programming in spaces such as Hudson River Park. To further support the creation of new work, The Joyce maintains longstanding commissioning and residency programs. Local students and teachers (1st–12th grade) benefit from its school program, and family and adult audiences get closer to dance with access to artists.

The Joyce’s annual season of about 48 weeks of dance now includes over 300 performances for audiences of over 100,000. Visit Joyce.org for more information.

The Joyce Theater Foundation is committed to fostering and supporting a diverse and inclusive environment, both on and off stage.
