Lin. Woods

Lin Woods is a seasoned family entertainment media professional, author, podcaster, and specialist in TV, print, and online communications. Her career began in radio at KATZAM/FM (iHeartRadio) in her hometown of St Louis, Missouri, where she rose from a copywriter and public affairs producer to one of the top on-air personalities Lin’s next career move took her to WESL-AM/24 Hour Gospel Radio in East St. Louis, Illinois, where she served as Assistant Program Director and Music Director. Her programming efforts there led to a significant increase in ratings, solidifying her reputation as one of the leading on-air personalities in the St. Louis market. Simultaneously, she worked as an associate producer in public affairs at KSDK-TV5/NBC

Leveraging her experience in radio and TV, Woods headed to Los Angeles, California, where she held various entertainment positions, including Regional Marketing Coordinator for the Ice Capades and Harlem Globetrotters, casting roles at Warner Brothers Television, and Artist Relations at Warner Brothers Records. At Warner Brothers, she worked on projects for highprofile artists such as Take 6, Prince, Frankie Beverly & Maze, and The Winans. After deciding to follow her passion for faith-based and family entertainment, she became the host, writer, and producer of the internationally syndicated radio show Inside Gospel The show, which reached over 5 million listeners globally, featured interviews with top gospel recording artists and influential individuals making a positive impact worldwide. Woods’ reputation as one of the most sought-after journalists in Gospel Entertainment was solidified during this time.

Woods eventually transitioned to the Gospel Editor and Gospel Events Producer role at The Urban Network, the top urban entertainment industry publication, and its sister site, Urban Network Digital. Under her leadership, these platforms thrived, and she created Urban Inspired Magazine, a gospel trade print and digital publication that wielded significant influence in the industry during the 2000s.

Returning to St. Louis, Woods founded Lin. Woods Inspired Media, LLC, a family entertainment company with affiliates in Los Angeles and Atlanta. Her company creates and produces content for clients in print, radio, TV, and digital media, including BMI and Getty Images. She also creates content and manages her websites linwoodsinspiredmedia.com and blackchicatthemovies.com. As a national voice-over artist, speaker, and moderator, Woods created and produced the Inspired Music Entertainment Seminar series and the Inspired Entertainment Report, which aired on ABC Radio Networks’ Rejoice! Musical Soulfood.

As a creative writer, Woods has written scripts for national Gospel TV specials, including Gospel Music Presents, which airs in over 50 markets, and General Mills’ nationally syndicated radio show Serving Up Soul with Dorinda Clark Cole, also airing in 50 U.S. markets. She has written liner notes for albums, including Testify! (Rhino/WEA), for which she also served as a compilation producer As an author, she has published the faith-based children’s book Kenny Can: Don’t Judge Me, with the second book in the series, See Me, Not My Color, released in December 2022. Currently, she is working on the documentary She Sings: The History of African American Women in Gospel.
