God has not given us the spirit of fear. In this age where there is so much uncertainty and seeming chaos we can still look to our Lord and Savior for all that we need and for all he has done.

Often times we think just of the material things, the external things that he has blessed us with (cars, homes, clothes, finance, family, etc); things that we can see and touch with our eyes and hands and we lift our hands in praise and adoration; and yes when praises go up blessings do come down, because we have acknowledged him.

But what about the blessings of joy, and peace and love and long suffering and temperance, and meekness and forgiveness, and patience, and all of the wonderful gifts he has given us internally?

When you look back at the trials, the tribulations, the ups, the downs, the mountain top experiences, the valley low experiences and you then look at where you are today, how can you not lift your hands in Praise for all that he has poured into your life? When you look back at your yesterdays do they seem as hard as you thought they were when going through the storm? Do you now recognize that He was there all the time?

This issue of Gospel International puts the focus on PRAISE. I want you to take a moment before diving into the great articles we have prepared for you, and give God PRAISE for all that he has done for you and most importantly in you, and for all that he is doing right now in this minute, no matter what your circumstance may look like.

All things; the good and the bad, are working together for your good. So before turning the page PRAISE HIM and then I invite you to enjoy this March issue of Gospel International!!!

What a privilege and an honor it is to connect with Patrick Bolton because in the world of gospel music, where passion meets purpose, you will find that Patrick Bolton is one of the names that carry the weight of excellence. As a musical virtuoso, Patrick has spent more than 30 years as a pillar of strength in the music industry, leaving an indelible mark and claiming territory like a modern-day Joshua. More than a musician, Patrick is a man whose life is a testament to praise as a way of being, not just an act of worship. His story is deeply rooted in faith, legacy, and a love for music and ministry that transcends generations.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Patrick grew up in a home where faith was not just a Sunday affair but a way of life. His family’s deep connection to the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) shaped his spiritual and musical journey. He found himself sitting at the piano in his Dad’s Church one Sunday in the absence of the pianist and he’s been behind the instrument ever since. His grandfather, Pastor LT Hutton, was a preacher, his father, Pastor Harrison Bolton, is a preacher, so naturally Patrick was immersed in the sound of traditional gospel hymns from an early age. Church wasn’t just a place to worship; it was his foundation, his classroom, and his inspiration.

In a time when gospel artists are moving toward contemporary styles, Patrick is still deeply connected to the old-school gospel sound. He cherishes and preserves the hymns that built the gospel tradition. Songs like “Amazing Grace”, “What A Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Blessed Assurance” are not just melodies to him, He said, “they are lifelines to a faith that has sustained him through the years”.

Patrick is a musical quadruple threat: a producer, composer, conductor, and singer with a resume that spans the most prestigious platforms in the entertainment industry. Adam Rogers is an entrepreneur. In 2005 he started his multimedia production company called ADAMOLOGY, which formed Adam’s nickname, ADAMOLOGY. Through this multimedia company, Adam created media content for non-profits, churches and small business. Adam has been in TV commercials for major companies like Nike and Sega.

Under the ADAMOLOGY brand, he has created major gospel events for the Northern California Church Community like the Annual New Year’s Musical, 18 years strong with 1100 people in attendance, to the 4th Sunday gospel brunch at Kingston’s, a contemporary black owned Jamaican restaurant in downtown Oakland California.

During Grammy week, 2023, Adam launched the first annual Pre-Grammy Gospel Reception and innovation award in Los Angeles. The INNOVATION AWARD is an award of high achievement, recognizing the notable success in the gospel genre. this award is given to Labels, tv stations, event promoters, music producers Radio station owners as well as programmers, and media outlets that serve the gospel community.

With the INNOVATION AWARD, gospel businesses are celebrated for their hard work, supporting the gospel genre.

Adam has performed and collaborated with some of the world's renowned, Grammy Award winning producers: Raphael Saadiq, Montage Pheloan, and Marcus Hodge to name a few. He has also been secured as an opening artist at concerts featuring Oleta Adams, Bobby Jones and Vicki Winans. Adam has also been the musical director for the Gospel Stage Play "Misery Loves Company.” He has enjoyed working in several capacities that both challenged and effectuated his growth and development. He has served as Gospel Music Coordinator for American Express Hall of Fame in San Francisco, California; Gospel Choir Director for the acclaimed U.C. Berkeley Gospel Choir; Musical Director of St Mary's College of California and Contra Costa Community College in Richmond, California. He has been recognized by his musical peers as one of the premier Musicians in Northern California, being nominated in 2001 and 2003 for the Bay Area’s musician of the year award at the age of 20 and 22.

In 2007, Adam was nominated for Musician of the Year by the Bay Area Black Music Awards.

As a musician, Adam has played for Gospel music’s best such as: Edwin Hawkins, Richard Smallwood, Marvin Sapp, the late Timothy Wright, Lawrence Matthews, Bryant Jones, Kervy Brown, Norman Hutchins, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Nikki Ross, Renetha Macklin, Kim Burrell, Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, Craig Hayes of New Jersey, Sons of the Soul Revivers of San Francisco, Teachina Danielle, Tonex, Women of Worship of GMWA, Beverly Crawford, Sista Cantaloupe, Min. John Peavy & Voice of Vision and Praise, Twinkie Clark, David Frazier, Prince Yelder, Iris Stephens, Richard “Mr. Clean” White, Demetrius Griffen, Love Center Church Choir, just to name a few; garnering Adam national recognition from the gospel community.

Adam Rogers is also a songwriter & music publisher. His songs are played on radio stations across the nation in addition to clips of performances on multiple websites like: youtube.com, gospelchops.com, facebook.com, godtube.com, socialcam.com, and hammond.com. Adam is also a song presenter at national conventions such as: the Edwin Hawkin’s Music & Arts Seminar and The Gospel Music Workshop of America. In 2007 Adam was added to the music staff of Women of Worship, the women’s division of the G.M.W.A., as a musician and currently works with the youth and young adult.

In 2013 Adam became the co-owner in a music entertainment label based out of San Francisco called KNEntertainment a Jazz, Blues, Gospel and Inspirational Music Entertainment Company. KNE has charted on Billboard twice within a 2 year period, with one of KNE’s artist charting number 9 on the charts.

In 2015 Adam became a radio announcer for the KGM1 Radio Network's gospel radio show "Take it to the stage with Adamology"; that has a listening base of over 80 thousand people.

Adam’s radio show has become a hit among the listeners and the name was upgraded to “The ADAMOLOGY Radio Show in 2018.

Lin Woods is a seasoned family entertainment media professional, author, podcaster, and a specialist in TV, print, and online communications. Her career began in radio at KATZAM/FM (iHeartRadio) in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, where she rose from a copywriter and public affairs producer to one of the top on-air personalities. Lin’s next career move took her to WESL-AM/24 Hour Gospel Radio in East St. Louis, Illinois, where she served as Assistant Program Director and Music Director. Her programming efforts there led to a significant increase in ratings, solidifying her reputation as one of the leading on-air personalities in the St. Louis market. Simultaneously, she worked as an associate producer in public affairs at KSDK-TV5/NBC. Leveraging her experience in radio and TV, Woods headed to Los Angeles, California, where she held various entertainment positions, including Regional Marketing Coordinator for the Ice Capades and Harlem Globetrotters, casting roles at Warner Brothers Television, and Artist Relations at Warner Brothers Records. At Warner Brothers, she worked on projects for highprofile artists such as Take 6, Prince, Frankie Beverly & Maze, and The Winans. After deciding to follow her passion for faith-based and family entertainment, she became the host, writer, and producer of the internationally syndicated radio show Inside Gospel. The show, which reached over 5 million listeners globally, featured interviews with top gospel recording artists and influential individuals making a positive impact worldwide. Woods’ reputation as one of the most sought-after journalists in Gospel Entertainment was solidified during this time.

Woods eventually transitioned to the Gospel Editor and Gospel Events Producer role at The Urban Network, the top urban entertainment industry publication, and its sister site, Urban Network Digital. Under her leadership, these platforms thrived, and she created Urban Inspired Magazine, a gospel trade print and digital publication that wielded significant influence in the industry during the 2000s.

Returning to St. Louis, Woods founded Lin. Woods Inspired Media, LLC, a family entertainment company with affiliates in Los Angeles and Atlanta. Her company creates and produces content for clients in print, radio, TV, and digital media, including BMI and Getty Images. She also creates content and manages her websites linwoodsinspiredmedia.com and blackchicatthemovies.com. As a national voice-over artist, speaker, and moderator, Woods created and produced the Inspired Music Entertainment Seminar series and the Inspired Entertainment Report, which aired on ABC Radio Networks’ Rejoice! Musical Soulfood.

As a creative writer, Woods has written scripts for national Gospel TV specials, including Gospel Music Presents, which airs in over 50 markets, and General Mills’ nationally syndicated radio show Serving Up Soul with Dorinda Clark Cole, also airing in 50 U.S. markets. She has written liner notes for albums, including Testify! (Rhino/WEA), for which she also served as a compilation producer. As an author, she has published the faith-based children’s book Kenny Can: Don’t Judge Me, with the second book in the series, See Me, Not My Color, released in December 2022. Currently, she is working on the documentary She Sings: The History of African American Women in Gospel.

In addition to her media endeavors, Woods leads the nonprofit Inspired Lives Foundation, which presents educational entertainment programs, including the youth initiative Film Camp USA-St. Louis and Inspired Music Entertainment Seminars. She also consults organizations on creating podcast networks.

Woods is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Fisk University, an HBCU in Nashville, TN, and holds a Master of Arts degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. In 2023, she received an honorary doctorate from Leaders Esteem Christian University in Woodlands, Texas.

Prime Video released the official trailer and key art for the upcoming biblical drama series, House of David. The trailer offers a first look at newcomer Michael Iskander as David, the eventual King of Israel, as he takes on Goliath (Martyn Ford) and fulfills his destiny as God’s Chosen, anointed by Samuel the Prophet (Stephen Lang).

House of David comes from visionary filmmakers and Wonder Project creative leaders Jon Erwin (Jesus Revolution, American Underdog) and Jon Gunn (Ordinary Angels). The series premiered on February 27, 2025, on Prime Video with three episodes and one episode weekly thereafter in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Music industry veteran Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music at YouTube, has issued an open letter to Kanye West, writing that he's "deeply disappointed and troubled" by the antisemitic statements made by the artist in recent days.

"With antisemitism on the rise, your voice and influence carry a significant responsibility," Cohen said to Kanye West in the letter. "I urge you to be more sensitive to the pain your words inflict on Jewish communities and all those who stand against hate..." ........

The 2025 GRAMMY Awards marked a moment as it celebrated musical excellence while raising nearly $9 million in donations on GRAMMY Sunday for Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts, contributing to over $24 million raised in total over GRAMMY weekend. TikTok's $300 billion-valued parent company, ByteDance, is one of the world's busiest AI developers. It plans to spend billions of dollars this year on AI chips, while its tech gives Sam Altman's OpenAI a run for its money.

ByteDance's Duobao AI chatbot is currently the most popular AI assistant in China, with 78.6 million monthly active users as of January. This makes it the world's second most-used AI app behind OpenAI's ChatGPT (with 349.4 million MAUs).

The recently released Doubao-1.5-pro is claimed to match the performance of OpenAI's GPT4o at a fraction of the cost. As Counterpoint Research notes in its breakdown of Duobao's positioning and functionality, "much like its international rival ChatGPT, the cornerstone of Doubao’s appeal is its multimodality, offering advanced text, image, and audio processing capabilities".

It can also generate music. In September, ByteDance added an AI music generation function to the Duobao app, which apparently "supports more than ten types of music styles and allows you to write lyrics and compose music with one click".With this new feature, users can enter a theme or lyrics in the “Music Generation” section of Doubao, select the music style, mood, and vocal type, and quickly generate a song lasting about one minute. ........

Tennis Champion Coco Gauff Gifts UNCF $100,000 for Scholarships to Support HBCU Students Playing Competitive Tennis

“We are incredibly grateful to Coco Gauff for her generous $100,000 gift to UNCF, which will significantly impact the lives of HBCU students aspiring to excel in competitive tennis,” said Maurice E. Jenkins, Jr., executive vice president and chief development officer, UNCF. “Her commitment not only showcases her dedication to education and athletics but also inspires the next generation of student-athletes to pursue their dreams. This gift reinforces the importance of supporting our young leaders and ensuring they have the resources necessary to succeed both on and off the court.”

The Coco Gauff Scholarship Program will be administered by UNCF and scholarships will be awarded to eligible students who play competitive tennis starting in May. ........

The Desire Area of New Orleans' 9th Ward was alive with music and a message of love and unity as He Gets Us and Jon Batiste — the 2025 Super Bowl LIX National Anthem performer — came together to host the first Love Riot Festival on Saturday, Feb. 8. Batiste put on a rousing nearly two-hour set for thousands in attendance punctuated by performances with fellow big game pregame artist Ledisi, local favorites Dee-1 and TBC Brass Band, Flavor Flav, and more. He Gets Us Presents Jon Batiste's Love Riot Festival was free to attend to the New Orleans community and friends. All attendees received a free meal and access to connect with local community partners and support services.

Lamont Bradley With the 67th Annual Grammy Awards being held the very next day, the Gospel Community came together to Celebrate the Songwriters who were nominated in 2 Categories (Best Gospel Performance/Song, Best Gospel Album) for Ricky Dillard's "Choirmaster II" Project & Hit Song "Hold On" written by D. Corey Shipley. The event was titled - PreGrammy Celebration Concert From a Songwriter's Perspective, on Saturday, Feb. 1st at Hill City Church (Pastor Detrick Haddon); The event featured the Music of D. Corey Shipley, Jason Clayborn, Terrance J. Dooley, Michael Lampkin, Anthony "Junebug" Turner, De'Ante Duckett, and Marcus Hodge. The event was off to a good start with Praise & Worship being rendered by Shari Ravenell & Company, after which De'Ante Duckett & The Justified Crew took the stage to perform all the background vocals for each songwriter.

"After a warm welcome from the host, Marquis Jelks, who reminded the crowd that we are gathered to honor these great men of God and the music they have shared with the world, we also came together to raise funds for the recent fire victims of the Altadena/Pasadena fires."

"The program began with I Love The Lord, written by Terrance Dooley, a song that ignited the crowd with praise. It was followed by Lord, You're Great, written by Pastor Michael Lampkin, a finalist on the final season of Sunday’s Best. Next came Bless Your Name, written by De’Ante Duckett and featuring Kurt Carr Singer Nikki Potts—saying this song ‘wrecked the church’ would be an understatement. After a powerful praise break, the program continued with Nobody Like Jesus, written by Marcus Hodge."

"After the offering, the concert continued with Fill Us Once Again, written by Anthony 'Junebug' Turner, followed by Not Far Away, written by Jason Clayborn and led by Julian Cross. His smooth-as-butter vocals blended seamlessly with The Justified Crew’s impeccable tones and diction, creating the perfect setup for the next song. When I Think, featuring The Justified Crew, took the atmosphere to another level— church was over at that point! But the night’s most anticipated moment came with the Grammy-nominated gospel song Hold On, written by D. Corey Shipley. Led tonight by Kadmiel Siler, the song had the crowd in a frenzy. After passing the mic a few times, the service ended on a powerful high note."

I was able to sit down for a brief One-On-One Interview with D. Corey Shipley prior to the Service, the Trenton, New Jersey native was over the moon about his nomination - not only for the Choirmaster II Project, but to be nominated for Gospel Song was just the icing on the cake.

Shipley is currently the director of The Bishop's Choir, but his humble beginnings started as a Drummer and a long stint as the MD for Craig Hayes & United Voices; and being a frontman for GMWA. "His songwriting comes from what he feels in the moment. He shared that the song Hold On *was born during a difficult time when he was out of work for two years, unsure of what would happen next. Music & The Kingdom

By Dr. Percy Bady Kingdom Greetings To You All! I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “Let Everything That Has Breath, Praise The Lord” Psalm 150:6. Well it’s not just a saying, it’s actually a command! It’s a very familiar passage of scripture but often not understood in context. Before I dive into this from a music viewpoint, let’s unpack Praise at its core. Praise simply means the expression of approval or admiration for someone or something. But biblically Praise refers to lifting God up. It is the joyful recounting of what God has done for us. The acknowledgment of all the wonderful, righteous deeds of God. And for this reason, He (God) is worthy of praise (Psalm 18:3). The first time we hear the word Praise is in Genesis 29. In verse 25 Leah gives birth to her 4th son and says “I will praise the Lord…Thus she named him Judah which is a Hebrew name that means "praise"!

Overall the word “Praise” is mentioned over 200 times in the Bible. Signifying its importance to God. Now let’s unpack this through the lens of music. Judges 20:18 says And the children of Israel arose and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God and said, “Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin?” And the Lord said, “Judah shall go up first.” What was the Lord saying? Send Judah first" means the Lord wanted them to prioritize praise or thanksgiving first, as "Judah" in the Bible signifies "praise" and is often used in the context of sending the Tribe of Judah to the front lines in battle. This symbolizes the importance of leading with praise to God before any other action.

Hence we enter into his gates with ‘thanksgiving & into his courts with what? PRAISE! That’s a good place to lift yo hands!

Churches across the globe start their church services weekly with Praise! Why? To direct the focus on God's greatness and goodness. It also creates a positive and thankful mindset before moving into other aspects of worship, essentially "entering God's presence" with an attitude of adoration and gratitude. It gives the worshiping congregation an opportunity to offer something that will be as meaningful and moving as they hope the offering of the sermon will be. It breaks up the fallow ground so that when the speaker plants seeds, he is planting on fertile ground! Ground that is conducive to producing good fruit.

This is why it is important for those of us who operate inside the worship space in churches must choose wisely the songs we sing to point people to God! If it doesn’t speak to who he is, what he’s done & his genuine love for his people, we miss an opportunity for a spontaneous explosion! A united praise can shift a house! Not to mention shift YOU! Praising God can strengthen your faith, bring joy, and help us all to focus on God instead of our problems. It can also help us feel more connected to God and to other congregants. I’ve often heard it said the Praise is comely for the upright! lol! I hear ya, what does that mean Dr B? It means that it is fitting, appropriate, or beautiful for righteous people to praise God. In closing let us remember that our Praise is also our witness! When we speak well of God, talk about who he is & all of the great things he has done, we are Praising him! Here in lies the essence of man’s existence…Know God & make HIM known! And you know what happens when we Praise him? Burdens are lifted, we fill renewed, it’s a stress reliever, it changes our attitude & the attitude of fellow worshippers & more importantly the atmosphere as well! Praise is a command and not an option! God said Let Everything That Has Breath, Praise The Lord!

Greetings Beloved, With everything that is going on in the world today, I thought it would be therapeutic to start this month’s article with a little humor, so here it goes…

There was a man who was so worried about his problems that he decided to hire someone to worry for him. He offered $100,000 a year to his new “Professional Worrier.” A friend asked, “How are you going to pay him?” The man shrugged. “That’s for him to worry about!”

If only it were that easy, right? Anxiety is no laughing matter, but sometimes, a little humor helps us see how much time we waste on things we can’t control. In times like these, when the economy is unstable, politics are divisive, and even our spiritual lives feel tested. Anxiety seems to be a permanent resident in many of our hearts and minds but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Anxiety: America’s Most Common Mental Battle Did you know that anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States?

According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), over 40 million adults struggle with anxiety every year. That’s roughly 1 in 5 people, which means if you’re sitting in church, at work, or even in your own home, someone near you is likely battling anxiety. And yet, despite how widespread it is, many people suffer in silence, believing they have to “simply pray it away” or “get over it” because they are “too blessed to be stressed”.

Understanding Anxiety Disorders Anxiety is not just a general feeling of worry; it encompasses several specific disorders outlined in the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition). Here are some common types: 1. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Characterized by excessive worry about various aspects of life, including work, health, and social interactions.

2. Panic Disorder: Involves recurrent, unexpected panic attacks—sudden periods of intense fear that include physical symptoms like heart palpitations.

3. Social Anxiety Disorder: This disorder manifests as an intense fear of social situations, leading to avoidance and significant distress.

4. Specific Phobias: These involve intense, irrational fears of specific objects or situations, leading individuals to go to great lengths to avoid them.

5. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): Characterized by unwanted, recurrent thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) that the individual feels driven to perform.

6. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): This can occur after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, leading to flashbacks, severe anxiety, and uncontrollable thoughts about the event.

Understanding these disorders helps demystify anxiety and empowers individuals to seek appropriate help from a mental health professional.

Recognizing the Signs of Anxiety Anxiety doesn’t always show up as a full-blown panic attack. It can be subtle, like: ·Feeling on edge all the time – like your mind just won’t slow down. ·Constant worrying – even about things that might never happen.

Restlessness – feeling like you can't sit still or relax.

Trouble sleeping – either struggling to fall asleep or waking up too early.

Tense muscles – tight shoulders, jaw clenching, or headaches.

Stomach issues – nausea, butterflies, or even digestive problems.

Racing heart or shortness of breath – feeling like you just ran a race even when you're sitting still.

Difficulty focusing – your mind keeps jumping from one worry to another.

A sense of doom – feeling like something bad is going to happen, even if there’s no real reason.

Holistic Ways to Manage Anxiety Seeking professional help is a valid and effective option for addressing anxiety. Therapy can provide coping strategies, and medication, when prescribed appropriately, can help regulate anxiety symptoms. These treatments should not be discouraged or demonized. Some holistic strategies for anxiety that you can begin practicing are: ·Prayer and Meditation– Philippians 4:6-7 tells us to “be anxious for nothing” but to bring our requests to God. Start your day with prayer, meditating on God’s promises. ·Deep Breathing & Grounding Techniques-Try box breathing (inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4) or practice the 5-4-3-2-1 method (naming things you can see, touch, hear, smell, and taste) to stay present. ·Exercise– Moving your body releases endorphins, which are natural stress relievers. ·Healthy Eating & Hydration – Processed foods and excessive caffeine can worsen anxiety.

Choose whole, nutritious foods instead. ·Rest & Sabbath – Prioritize rest, both physically and spiritually. Even God rested on the seventh day!

The Challenge: A Seven-Day Anxiety Detox Imagine waking up tomorrow feeling lighter, clearer, and more at peace without the weight of constant worry pressing down on you. What if, in just one week, you could reset your mind, renew your faith, and begin reclaiming the calm that anxiety has tried to steal? Consider doing a seven-day anxiety detox and discover simple, faith-filled steps to quiet and trade your anxiety and fears for lasting peace in God’s presence.

Challenge: A Seven-Day Anxiety Detox If you’re looking for a way to reset your mind and spirit, try this one-week anxiety detox: Day 1: Digital Detox – Limit social media, news, and screens for the day. Instead, spend time in prayer, nature, or quiet reflection. Journal your thoughts and notice how your mind feels without the constant influx of information.

Day 2: Move Your Body – Engage in 30 minutes of physical activity, whether it’s a walk outside, yoga, stretching, or a dance session in your living room. Movement helps release built-up tension and naturally lowers stress levels.

Day 7: Reflection & Reset – Look back over the past six days and note any changes in your mood, thoughts, or energy. Pray over the week ahead, asking God to help you continue prioritizing peace and trust over fear.

Memorize this verse - Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Final Thought: Hope for the Anxious Heart Here’s the good news: God didn’t create you to be weighed down by anxiety and excessive worry. He offers peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). When the world feels unstable, our faith remains unshaken because we stand on the Rock that never moves.

Oftentimes preachers must be promoters of Praise in climates of endless complaining, apathy and ongoing grief. Just looking at how our Nation's demeanor has shifted might bring on a mild case of depression except for this one option called a Choice.

You see, when you possess liberty that allows you the freedom to choose how you are going to live life, then I choose to live in a state of Praise, 1Thessalonians 5:18 - In everything give thanks............ not for everything but in everything.

This was not an innate way of thinking for me, but I acquired this mindset after many challenging experiences and found out this attitude would add a few more joyful years to my life, keep me in better health physically and mentally.

Choose Praise not only as a stimulant but as a daily mental regimen. An overworked mind can overwhelm you.

We can become so busy with what's going on in the world, the schedules we must maintain along with our personal lives, that it becomes necessary to regain control of our time.

Each day for five minutes, quiet your whole being and shut everything out so you can align yourself with the creator. This would entail you finding a serene place where there will be no interruptions. You choose the time of day or night. It could be sitting on the edge of your bed, in the bathroom, or any place that you feel comfortable and safe for five minutes; your car, the workplace, or outside You cannot look at your phone, no T.V., no radio, no one talking around you. A place where you can STILL yourself, organize your thoughts, and calm your breathing.

So much is going on around us and we have to learn to shut out the noise and KNOW THAT HE IS GOD. As long as I do my part God is definitely going to handle his part. After you STILL yourself and realign through Praise, get up and be about your business.

There is always something that we can complain about, get upset about, be disappointed and discouraged but what advantage will come out of that? I'm not saying ignore it either, you can address it, clear it out of your system but don't give it energy in your life.

If we are not careful, we can become like chameleons and blend in with the negativity of our surroundings if we don't have a mechanism to keep us grounded. Praise is a good mechanism. Every day is another chance. It is an opportunity to rise above any dilemma, or obstacle.

Relinquish the past, grab the present and run towards the future.

Praise is expressive and expressing yourself does not always mean you do it verbally. We Praise God first and foremost but we also acknowledge each other through praise as well. Praise helps us stay focused on the major and not the minor.

Thought precedes action. In my mind is where I habitat the most and that's why I can live in a state of Praise.

I recently had a heartfelt conversation with my mom about what to prepare for Sunday dinner. She mentioned she had a package of ground turkey in the fridge, which she wanted to use for sloppy joes. I agreed, but I couldn’t help pointing out that the canned Manwich sauce is loaded with salt. I suggested that this wasn’t quite the meal for a Sunday feast. Instead, I promised to whip up a full Sunday dinner and save the sloppy joes for Monday.

The next morning, I set off to work in the kitchen. I explored various recipes online and crafted a homemade version of her sloppy joes that were low in sodium but still packed with flavor.

For our Sunday meal, I prepared smoked turkey chops with rich gravy, fluffy rice, fresh green beans, sautéed cabbage, boiled okra, and, of course, cornbread. Initially, I had planned to skip the cornbread, but I remembered our earlier chat where she insisted that you can’t have cabbage without it.

So, I made an extra effort to include it.

I also prepared a plate for my auntie and took it to her at the hospital. When I arrived, she had her hospital tray in front of her but wasn’t eating. She was sitting up, looking vibrant and more like my old aunt. Her face lit up with a smile when she saw me and my mom, who had arrived at the same time.

My mom, feeling a bit envious, remarked, "That food looks and smells amazing!" When the nurses came in, they asked where we ordered the meal from and were astonished to learn that I had prepared the meal. My mom could hardly wait to get home to enjoy her portion—and believe me, she did! Mission accomplished!

I wanted to share my real-life journey with you because I cooked both meals out of love for my mom and aunt. My mother had her heart set on those sloppy joes, and I took the extra steps to create something that would bring her joy. What are you willing to do for your loved ones? You might not be able to cook, but you can still treat them to a special meal by ordering from their favorite restaurant. Don’t think you have to limit your gestures to the kitchen, just perform small acts of kindness, like taking out the trash or washing their car. These simple gestures may not cost much, but they bring priceless happiness to those we care about. Love is an action word, and when put into motion, it conquers all. Again, what are you willing to do in the name of love????

Here’s How I Made the Sloppy Joes:

Ingredients: Family package of ground turkey 2 cups chopped onions 2 cups chopped green bell peppers (red or yellow can work too) 2 cloves garlic, chopped 1 can tomato paste 1 can tomato sauce (or fresh tomatoes processed in a blender) Fresh diced basil and oregano Spices to taste

Preparation: 1. In a skillet, brown the ground turkey with the onions and bell peppers, stirring occasionally until fully cooked.

2. Add the chopped garlic, tomato paste, basil, oregano, and your preferred spices.

3. Finally, mix in the tomato sauce, being careful not to add too much. You want your sloppy joes to be firm enough for the buns but still messy and delicious.

4. If you’re daring like me, I added cayenne pepper to mine alone and a slice of American cheese.

Enjoy your cooking and remember that love shines brightest in the simplest of gestures!

There is a Difference between LOVE and LUST! Pay Attention!

When it comes to relationships and finding that special someone, the formula has evolved. In the past, it started with a request for a phone number, followed by a phone call, a conversation to get to know each other, a few more calls, and then probably a date. There was a season of getting to know someone, perhaps going out to dinner or watching a movie. Walking around the park, holding hands, and simply spending time together were common ways to connect.

There were no cell phones, scrolling, or interruptions. The time set aside for that special someone was sacred, marked by respect, eye contact, and attentive listening.

Fast forward to 2025, and believe it or not, some people still follow this traditional line of courting. Much of this depends on how they were raised. If parents took the time to explain the proper way to date, as their parents did for them, their children would likely follow suit.

Unfortunately, courting is something we don’t see much of these days. It still exists, but not like it did in the good old days.

The fast-paced world we live in today makes finding love challenging. Social media has made identifying love confusing, and many people looking for love often get tripped up along their journey. Instead of finding love, they stumble upon people who mirror their life lens and stop for a temporary fix to feel better.

In seeking to feel better, this can take on many forms and definitions, and more often than not, love becomes less of a goal and more of a challenge.

Love is about give and take, with the ultimate goal of working together to be together, to be not only happy but to feel cherished, special, and respected.

However, with so much pain in the world, many people disregard the feelings of others in pursuit of a quick fix to their pain and discomfort. As a result, more people seem to be chasing lust over love, and if you’re not careful, you can fall into this trap.

Lust looks like love until it’s time to sacrifice something. Lust says, “You’re beautiful!” Love says, “You’re beautiful!”

Lust says, “I want you!” Love says, “I want you!”

But lust demands something in return, while love is about giving. A man who’s lusting after you acts like he likes you just to take something from you. He works through his selfish desires to get what he wants, not to make your life better. He’s not there to make your life easier; he’s there to take something personal from you. Understand, lustful people don’t last. They are unwilling to sacrifice their bad habits, pride, and lifestyle for you.

A man who loves you wants to elevate you, see you win, and find ways to make your life better.

He won’t prioritize going to the club or hanging out with the boys over you. He will care about your emotional well-being. A man who loves you will be willing to sacrifice the toxic parts of himself and become a better person for you.

Don’t become a placeholder for a man, doing anything to convince him to choose you. That’s not love!

If someone truly wants you in their life, they will show up, be consistent, and pursue you. They will show you that they care about you and can help take care of you.

When someone sees you as a prize, they will want to take you off the market. However, if you wait for someone while they figure out if they will choose you, you are simply telling that person you are a placeholder and that they can use you as you continue to convince them to choose you. Think about that! That doesn’t reflect well on your self-value, self-respect, or self-worth.

Sure, many of us get lonely and often think it would be great to have someone special in our lives, but at what cost?

Remember what 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

Love truly is a little give and take, but it may not always play out how you think.

In this article, we will discuss budgeting and sales forecasting, including their roles and understanding the differences between them.

Budgeting vs. Sales Forecasting Although many entrepreneurs use the term budgeting and forecasting interchangeably, there is a difference. Both budgeting and sales forecasting are critical financial management and planning tools. However, each of them serves a different purpose.

Budgeting involves controlling the financial resources we currently have, whereas sales forecasting involves projecting sales that we hope to generate in the future. During the sales forecasting process, business owners can implement business planning and development strategies that could improve financial outcomes.

In the following two sections, we discuss the differences between budgeting and sales forecasting.

What Is Budgeting?

Based on historical financial data, budgets are reports that help limit how much a company should spend within a specific timeframe. They help business owners identify how much they should set aside for monthly costs and expenses to operate their business.

In Proverbs 21:20 – “There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man will spend it up.” Budgeting involves stewardship and helps us make intentional spending decisions. It also helps us implement savvy yet Godly wisdom – while keeping more of what we earn.

Apart from poor financial planning and impulsive spending, there are times when it may be challenging to operate within a budget due to unforeseen setbacks. Budgeting helps plan what to spend in advance versus wondering where it all went due to poor planning.

What is Sales Forecasting?

Sales forecasting involves providing the best estimate of what you believe your future sales will be over a specific timeframe, such as within the next month, quarter, or year. Sales forecasting should never be random estimates but should be tied to lucrative facts, financial trends, or historical data. For example, if you have noticed an increase in sales over the past several years after attending an annual conference, then there’s a great chance that sales will increase during the current year after attending the same conference. This is also true regarding marketing activities. If you notice an increase in sales after launching targeted marketing campaigns, then you should feel confident that sales will increase after launching future campaigns. Contract agreements and purchase orders are other telltale signs that you have solid sales estimates in the pipeline. You can confidently add these projections to the sales forecast report with more certainty than those not tied to any concrete sales activity.

Sales forecasting should never be based on pie-in-the-sky estimates but on realistic concrete forecasting. This is not to suggest that potential sales leads in their early stages can’t become realistic forecasts in the future.

They will require continued business development activities to nurture and move these well-accessed leads further down the sales funnel. It’s this kind of diligence that results in the desired sales outcome.

What the Bible Says About Diligence In Proverbs 21:5, the Bible says, - “The thoughts of the diligent lead surely to plenteousness, but of everyone that is hasty comes only to want.” Sales forecasting requires diligence, research, strategic planning, marketing, well-thought-out decision-making, and other pre-calculated business development activities – as opposed to hasty, unverified estimations of what we hope the sales will be.

Conclusion The Bible supports wise and savvy business planning, being responsible stewards, and financial discipline. However, we’re still required to commit our work unto the Lord so our thoughts can be established, Proverbs 16:3. By following God’s principles, Christian business owners can manage their money and increase sales to honor God, ultimately leading to financial growth and stability.
