J. David Coker Coker & Palmer Investment Securities J. David Coker is the President and founding partner of Coker & Palmer, Inc. He has 33 years of experience in the financial services industry.

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is a member of the CFA Society of Mississippi as well as the CFA Institute. He also served as President of the CFA Society of Mississippi from 2002 to 2003.

Marsha H. Dieckman Marsha Dieckman is partner in charge of HORNE Wealth Strategies in Ridgeland. She has extensive knowledge in the areas of tax consulting and compliance for high-wealth individuals.

Dieckman joined HORNE in 2001 and has more than 20 years of experience. Before her career with HORNE, Dieckman was tax manager for an international accounting firm.

Dieckman graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Lynn Fitch Office of State Treasurer Lynn Fitch is serving her second term as State Treasurer.

Fitch was raised in Holly Springs, and received her Bachelor of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate at the University of Mississippi. At 23, she started practicing law as a Special Assistant Attorney General and was later in private practice as a bond lawyer.

Previously, Fitch was Executive Director of the Mississippi State Personnel Board, Deputy Executive Director at the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, and Counsel for the Mississippi House of Representatives Ways and Means and Local and Private Legislation Committees.

Fitch attended Harvard’s Business School of Management and Leadership Program. She has been active in The National Association of State Treasurers, where she sits on the Executive Committee and serves as Vice President for the Southern Region, as well as in the State Financial Officers Foundation, where she serves as Vice Chair.

She was selected Outstanding Woman Lawyer of 2012, recognized as a Woman Trailblazer by the Mississippi Bar Association, recently named a Mississippi Bar Fellow, and named a 2015 Honoree of the Women in Government Leadership Program by Governing Magazine. Fitch also serves on several charitable organizations’ boards, including Goodwill and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Matthew E. Freeland Matthews, Cutrer, & Lindsay, P.A. Matthew Freeland is shareholder and president of Matthews, Cutrer and Lindsay, and has more than 15 years of experience in public accounting.

He manages clients in all areas of taxation and provides assurance and attestation services to closely held companies and non-profit organizations.

He also has participated as a discussion leader in several workshops for non-profit organizations.

Freeland earned his Masters of Accountancy from The University of Mississippi. He is a licensed CPA in Mississippi. His professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He is a former member of the Downtown Jackson Exchange Club, where he has served as President, Vice President and Treasurer. He is currently on the Firm Administration & Development committee of the MSCPA. He is also a former instructor for the Becker CPA Review course.

Freeland and his wife, Melanie, have lived in the Jackson area for over 25 years and have two sons, Carson and Connor. He and his family attend Pinelake Church in Brandon. He enjoys playing hockey, tennis and cycling.

Cynthia Garland is Vice President and Senior Loan Officer at Guaranty Trust Company in Ridgeland. She is responsible for the development, leadership and growth of retail mortgage banking for Guaranty Trust in Mississippi.

Previously, she was the Vice President of Single Family Program Operations for Mississippi Home Corporation. Before that, she was Vice President of Mortgage Banking at Trustmark Bank in Madison, and a Mortgage Loan Officer for BancorpSouth and Mortgage Investors Group, both in Ridgeland.

Garland earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Microcomputer Applications at Hinds Community College in Raymond.

Garland was a member of the 2012 class the Mississippi Business Journal’s 50 Leading Business Women, a 2011 graduate of Leadership Mississippi and a 2010 and 2011 Chairman’s Circle honoree with over $20 million in personal originations. She is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and the Central Mississippi Mortgage Bankers Association. She is an alum of Leadership Mississippi.

Garland is married to an Active Guard Reserve, Army, retiree, and they make it a priority to support military personnel and their families. Her father and father-in-law are both Vietnam Veteran Marines.

Deborah J. Gilbert Mississippi Community College Board Deborah Gilbert has been a part of Mississippi’s community college system since 1988 and is one of the nation’s foremost experts on finances at two-year schools.

As Deputy Executive Director for Finance and Administration for the Mississippi Community College Board, it is her responsibility to divide about $260 million in state appropriations to community colleges, based on a formula. She also administers the MCCB’s $86 million budget.

Gilbert has also served as Associate Executive Director for Finance and Administration and was the first Director of Finance at the newly formed State Board for Community Colleges at the age of 27.

She is a 1979 graduate of Ackerman High School and earned her Bachelor of Professional Accountancy Degree in 1983 at Mississippi State University.

She is treasurer on the Executive Board of Directors of the Community College Business Officials international organization, and is a Mississippi State and Schools Employees Health Insurance Advisory Council Member.

Gilbert is a 2 1/2 year cancer survivor, having been diagnosed in 2014. She says she is thankful to be alive and tries to live life each day to its fullest.

John M. Hairston Hancock Bank/Hancock Holding Co John M. Hairston has been the Chief Executive Officer of Hancock Holding Company since 2008 and has been its President since 2014. Hairston served as the Chief Executive Officer of Whitney Bank. He has been the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Hancock Bank of Alabama, Hancock Bank of Florida and Hancock Bank of Mississippi (all are the subsidiaries of Hancock Holding Co.) since December 2008.

Prior to joining Hancock Holding Company, Hairston served as Manager at Financial Services Consulting, a Division of Andersen Consulting, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois from 1987 to 1994. He served as Senior Financial Consulting Manager of Anderson Consulting (Now Accenture) from 1987 to 1994. He served as the project manager who implemented operating and technology practices across the Hancock franchise in 1992.

He has been an Advisory Director of Hancock Bank of Florida since 2003. He has been a Director of Hancock Holding Company since 2006. He serves as a Director of Whitney Bank. Hairston graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering.

Stanley A. Herren

Stan Herren has 43 years of experience in the banking industry, all at Regions Bank, and has served as Relationship Manager to many of the bank’s larger institutional relationships during his career. For the past 35 years, he has been a relationship manager in Jackson. He currently manages the State of Mississippi relationship and most of the State agency accounts.

Herren has both his MS and BS from Mississippi State University, along with banking degrees from LSU and Iowa State. He is past president of the MSU Agricultural Alumni Association and past president of the Yazoo County MSU Alumni Association. He served a three-year term on the Agriculture Committee of the American Bankers Association. For the last 20 years, Herren has been active in various leadership roles at the Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church.

For 23 years prior to that, he was active in the leadership of Methodist churches in Yazoo City and Madison. Herren’s wife of 47 years (Becky) and both his children (Amanda Camp and Seth Herren) hold undergraduate and advanced degrees from Mississippi State University. Herron and Becky also have four grandchildren.

Johnson has been with BKD since 2008, when it merged with Johnson, Bruce and Host, a firm Johnson founded. He previously was a partner with KPMG for 27 years before leaving in 2006 to start his own firm.

Johnson earned his BBA in Accounting at Millsaps College in 1979.

Johnson is the Vice Chair of finance committee, Board Member and Vice Chair of Audit Committee at Millsaps. He is the chairman and board member with the Jackson Metro American Heart Association. Johnson is the former chairman of the board, and member of the Executive, Finance and Audit commities with the Mississippi Museum of Art. Wyman Jones Community Bancshares of Mississippi After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a BBA in Banking and Finance, Wyman Jones began his banking career as a management trainee at Fidelity National Bank in Baton Rouge, LA. Soon after, Jones graduated from the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. In 1986, Jones moved home to Morton to work at Citizen’s Bank and Trust. There he rapidly rose from a loan officer to an Executive Vice President in a matter of five years. In 1992, Jones joined Community Bank as a Senior Vice President. Quickly, he was promoted to President of the Hinds/Rankin Division. Since that time, Jones has held the position of CEO of Community Bank, North Mississippi, and now for over ten years Jones has served as the Vice Chairman of Community Bancshares of Mississippi and the Chief Credit Officer for the entire Community Bank system.

In addition to his passion for his work, Jones has also made an effort to give back to his community. He serves on Rankin First Committee of 100 which serves Rankin County by working with businesses in the community, in unison with elected officials, to promote orderly and progressive growth to all of Rankin County. He has been an active member of the Jackson Central Mississippi Lions Club, as well as the Morton Lions Club.

J. Randall Leister Randal Leister is a native of Oxford and a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He has been involved with multiple projects since 2006 that have helped with the unprecedented growth in the Oxford, Lafayette County Market. Although there are only two branches in Oxford, Randy’s group has amassed around $176MM in deposits.

Leister is also involved with the Oxford Rotary Club, and has served as president of the Oxford- Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce and President of the Oxford- Lafayette County Economic Development Foundation.

Jamie D. Osbirn Community Bank of Tupelo Jamie D. Osbirn, a Saltillo native, is currently serving as Senior Vice President/Commercial Lender with Community Bank in Tupelo. In his role, Osbirn has been working with small businesses and individuals helping them meet their financial goals for over 14 years.

After graduating Mississippi State University in 2002, Osbirn began his banking career working with a few banks in North Mississippi before joining Community Bank in spring of 2015. He is a graduate of the Mississippi School of Banking, Southeastern School of Commercial Lending, Southeastern School of Advanced Commercial Lending, and as well as the Jim Ingram Community Leadership Institute through the Community Development Foundation. Also, Osbirn is a current member of the 2016 Class of Leadership Mississippi through the Mississippi Economic Council.

Active in the community, Osbirn serves a President Emeritus of the Board of Directors for the Family Resource Center of North Mississippi and is co-founder of the G.I.F.T. Foundation for the Tupelo Public Schools. He is an active member of the City of Tupelo Major Thoroughfare Committee, Mississippi Young Bankers, and Itawamba County Development Council, Itawamba County’s primary economic development agency in Fulton, Mississippi. Osbirn was a 2014 recipient of the Top 40 Under 40 honor by the Mississippi Business Journal. The Top 40 Under 40 Award recognizes the state’s 40 up-and-coming business leaders under the age of 40.

Osbirn is married to the former Jodie Harper of Laurel. They have two children, Mary Frances (8) and Andy (5). Jamie and Jodie currently reside in Tupelo.

Jim Rasberry Rasberry Financial Services When asked to characterize himself in one word, Jim Rasberry simply said “Laurel.”

Rasberry, owner and president of Rasberry Financial Services in Laurel, maintains a strong dedication to his community. His building is housed in the old First National Bank building, which he renovated in 2007 and donated the lobby space to Laurel Main Street to be used as a welcome center.

His cousin, Erin Napier, and her husband, Ben, are hosts of the HGTV Series, Home Town, and Rasberry and his wife, Mallorie, are involved as cast members and support. The four have also joined Emily and Josh Nowell in opening a home goods and lifestyle store named the Laurel Mercantile. Rasberry and his wife also bought and renovated a house in the historic district in 2012.

Rasberry earned his AA in Business Administration from Jones County Junior College and his BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He started Rasberry Financial during his sophomore year in college.

He has earned NFL Player’s Associate Financial Advisor designation, and is a member of the Jones County Chamber of Commerce and the Laurel Main Street.

Lillous Ann Shoemaker was recently named President of Magnolia State Bank in Bay Springs.

Shoemaker started at Magnolia State Bank in March of 2014 as a general counsel and compliance officer. She was appointed secretary of the board and holding company on July 10, 2014. In February 2015, Shoemaker was appointed to the board of directors.

She has practiced law for over 12 years, focusing on such areas as real estate, corporate law, estate and trust planning and family law.

Shoemaker, a native of Bay Springs, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, and obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law with Magna Cum Laude honors. After law school, she attended New York University School of Law where she completed her Master of Laws in Taxation.

Shoemaker is a member of Bay Springs United Methodist Church where she teaches Sunday School and is a member of the Finance Committee and is the Assistant Treasurer and Trustee.

Owen Edmonson Stratton KPMG, LLP Owen Stratton comes from an accounting family.

The 1993 Mississippi State graduate has helped carry out a tradition handed down by her father, Richard Edmonson. She has two sisters, Ashley and Avery, and a brother, McKie, who are also accounting graduates.

Stratton is a partner at KPMG in Jackson, where she has worked as an auditor 23 years. She has been a partner since 2005. Teresa F. Thornhill Citizens National Bank After 25 years of living and working in Jackson, Teresa Thornhill returned to her hometown of Meridian to serve as Chief Wealth Management Officer for Citizens National Bank.

In this position, Thornhill oversees the administration and management of $970 million in assets and leads strategic initiatives for the Wealth Management Division.

She previously spent 14 years at Trustmark, serving as Wealth Management Marketing and Administration Manager, President of The Performance Funds and director of Trustmark Investment Advisors, Inc. Previously she served Deposit Guaranty National Bank as Product Manager for the DG Investor Series Mutual Funds and Asset Management Compliance Officer.

Stan Herren has been with Regions Bank for 43 years and over the course of his career has served as a relationship manager to many of the bank’s larger institutional customers. Stan received both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Mississippi State University and banking degrees from Louisiana State University and Iowa State University.

He is past president of the MSU Agricultural Alumni Association and past president of the Yazoo County MSU Alumni Association.
