When we started back in 2016, we could have only dreamt that this sale would have become the much-loved and well-attended event that it now is. This sale has rightly become one of the leading Hereford sales in Europe and even globally – this is down to the dedication from our consignors towards entering their very best. As a result, people can come to Designer Genes in the knowledge that they are bidding on the very best the Hereford breed has to offer.
For the first time since 2018, we have consigned the current UK Hereford Bull of the Year to Designer Genes, this year in the form of the unbeaten champion Spartan 1 Typhoon. The potential return on investment presented to breeders in this bull is truly off the scale. Typhoon is a breed changer in the making, so whether you are looking for your next great herd bull or you’re looking to get into the semen selling business, make sure you take a long hard look at Typhoon on sale day. We have also consigned the 2022 Supreme Champion from the National Hereford Show at Tenbury. Haven Silvester was originally purchased by Gwyndaf Davies from the Haven back in 2020 and has been the main herdsire for the Creuddyn herd since then, siring many top progeny. Due to the fact this bull is now coming onto his own daughters, he is reluctantly offered for sale, and we felt given his success this year and the breeding potential he still possesses, it would be right to offer him at DGS.
This means for the first time in Hereford history, your National Horned Show Champion and National Poll Show Champion are offered for sale together at the same event.

Every animal in the sale has been TB tested within 60 days of the sale. Every animal at the event has been TB tested also. All cattle in the sale will be accom panied by a completed herd health declaration card which will be on display alongside each entry.

All females detailed as being in calf have been scanned as such by a certified vet erinarian.

The Clara line also produced Coley 1 Clara 418 who sold a half share at Designer Genes 2018 for 7,500gns. Please note that cattle sold at Designer Genes Sale 2019 will be sold under the rules and regulations set out by the Livestock Auctioneers Association, Halls Auc tions and The Hereford Cattle Society UK These can be found on their respective websites. Halls Auctions reserve the right to have the final say on issues arising from the sale.
TERMS
The terms of the sale are cash, cheque or wire transfers, payable within one week of the sale. Halls reserve the right to require a certified cheque as settle ment before releasing any sale cattle. Payment must be made in full before any sale cattle are released and shipped.
BIDDING
All animals to sell through the sale must be sold by auction with each animal sell ing to the highest bidder. Private sales will not be permitted DISPUTES
In the case of bidding disputes, bidding will be re-opened between the involved parties in the dispute. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid and the auctioneer’s decision will be final.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Any announcement made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.
PREGNANCY INFORMATION
All bred females have been pregnancy examined by a certified veterinarian who has provided the seller with an estimated length of gestation. The estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service. The Sale Management team will make it known if any changes occur to breeding details.
PEDIGREE CERTIFICATES
Pedigree certificates will be transferred to the buyer after the sale, once payment has been received, at a cost to the vendor.
