Dear whom it may concern, My name is Joseph Lee (Yo Soup Lee), and I am writing this for a full time Junior Architect position in your office. I graduated with Master of Architecture 1, Advanced Placement degree program from Syracuse University in May 10th. I have found that the your works have been the most inspiring among the other architecture firms, which intrigued me to work in your office. Academically, at Syracuse, I have been exploring design with various methodology including multiple 3D and graphic programs and broadening my interest into the relationship between urbanism, sustainability, and environmental strategy with architecture. And also, I have served as a teaching assistant for sophomore's building system â… ,â…Ą and currently for first year design studios. These experiences have challenged me as a designer and have allowed me to gain a wealth of knowledge and skills in collaboration and finding design solutions. Professionally, My career as an architect can be divided into two phases. In the first phase, I was at a small company for two years. Here, due to the small size of the firm, I could see the entire process of creating and constructing buildings. These small projects are what really taught me the construction process. The next phase lasted four years. At this time, I was required to collaborate with a foreign company. Through a joint project with KPF and SDL (Studio Daniel Libeskind), I learned important lessons of collaborating with foreign firms. From 2006 until 2009, I was involved in the Songdo Project; this was an enormous retail space that was intended to symbolize the city of Inchon. Here I was able to improve from abstract design to substantial drawing and constructing. With the Songdo Retail Project, I concentrated in environment architecture, material and building systems as well. Following this letter is a resume and sample pages of works, outlining my qualifications for a position.
