Enhancing Community through connection, opportunity and impact.

FROM YOUR PRESIDENT & CEO

As we wrap up 2026, we have an opportunity to reflect on the ways our business community has come together to strengthen our region, support those who serve it, and create a lasting impact for the people who call it home. It is also the perfect time to focus on one of the most meaningful ways the Chamber fulfills its mission: Enhancing Community. Supporting our business community also means investing in the people, organizations, and opportunities that strengthen our region. Through our members, programs, foundations, and partnerships, the Chamber creates opportunities to contribute, lead, and drive progress. Together, these efforts strengthen quality of life and help create a region where people can build successful careers, strong communities, and fulfilling lives. We also provide valuable information and resources that keep our members informed and engaged. Whether we are developing future leaders, strengthening our robust education system, giving back, or advancing shared priorities, our goal is to build a region where businesses and communities thrive together. As your Chamber, we remain focused on supporting the people, organizations, and initiatives that strengthen South Palm Beach & North Broward Counties. Our growing regional presence enables us to bring together businesses, nonprofits, educators, emerging leaders, and community partners to address needs, create opportunities, and invest in our region's future.

Enhancing Community Through Events

Enhancing a community starts by creating opportunities for people to come together. Throughout the year, Boca Regional Chamber events give members a front-row seat to the people, ideas, organizations, and milestones shaping our region. With business leaders, nonprofits, educators, elected officials, and professionals from across industries represented, each event offers a different opportunity to experience what makes our region dynamic. From Membership Breakfasts and Live After Five to Successful Women in Business, PRIME Professionals Over 40, Government Affairs, Young Professionals, ribbon cuttings, and signature events, the Chamber creates a calendar that reflects the many different parts of our business landscape. Some events introduce members to new perspectives, while others celebrate achievements, highlight important initiatives, encourage professional growth, or create space for people to learn more about the region around them.

These gatherings also give local voices a platform. Speakers share their expertise and experiences, nonprofits introduce members to important causes, elected officials provide insight into issues affecting the area, and businesses have opportunities to celebrate growth and milestones alongside their peers. In doing so, Chamber events help members better understand the industries, organizations, and individuals contributing to life across South Florida. Members can step outside their everyday routines and hear perspectives they may not encounter otherwise. Events can shine a light on emerging leaders, recognize established organizations, and introduce new ideas to a broader audience. With more than 300 events annually throughout Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Deerfield Beach, and surrounding areas, there is always another opportunity to learn something new, celebrate local success, or experience a different part of our region. Together, these experiences create a business culture that is informed, engaged, and proud of the place it calls home.

Connect. Engage. Make an impact. Collaboration – Bringing people and organizations together to build relationships, partnerships, and opportunities that strengthen our region.

Impact – Creating opportunities to give back, get involved, and make a meaningful difference throughout our community.

Inspiration – Sharing ideas, experiences, and perspectives that encourage leadership, innovation, and positive change.

Belonging – Creating welcoming spaces where professionals from across our region can connect, participate, and feel part of something bigger. 4 | Connection Magazine

Shining a Light on Non-Profits BCFD: A MEANINGFUL MONTH OF LASTING LOCAL IMPACT

BOCA CHAMBER FESTIVAL DAYS 2026 The 49th Annual Boca Chamber Festival Days have officially wrapped, leaving behind a month filled with purpose, generosity, and impact, all while celebrating and supporting the incredible work of local nonprofit organizations. Throughout August, events brought businesses, nonprofits, and residents together in support of meaningful causes across our region. Community members bowled for bread, tested their knowledge at trivia, showcased local talent, enjoyed happy hours, played casino games, sampled local flavors, and shared memorable experiences, all while making a difference for organizations that serve our neighbors.

Boca Chamber Festival Days puts the spotlight on the nonprofits whose work strengthens our region every day. Creating opportunities for these organizations to share their missions, gain support, and reach new audiences, BCFD helps extend impact beyond the events themselves. When we invest in the nonprofits serving our neighbors, we strengthen the quality of life across our entire region & help build a place where everyone can thrive. Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported Boca Chamber Festival Days. Every attendee, volunteer, partner, and supporter played a role in the success of these events and demonstrated a shared commitment to the organizations working tirelessly to serve others. That support is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when we show up for those who dedicate their work to making a difference.

Allegiance Home Health returned as our proud sponsor, helping make another successful year of Festival Days possible. From longtime traditions to new experiences, each event showed the power of businesses and nonprofits coming together with a shared purpose to support those who make our region better. Boca Chamber Festival Days proved once again that giving back is more than a moment. It brings people together, strengthens relationships, and creates meaningful impact that continues long after August ends.

BOYNTON BEACH ENHANCES COMMUNITY

BUILDING ON WHAT MAKES BOYNTON GREAT

INVESTING IN A SAFER, STRONGER BOYNTON BEACH

The future of Boynton Beach is shaped by the people who choose to participate in it. The Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce, powered by the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, helps create opportunities for local professionals to become more engaged, informed, and invested in the place where they live and work. Through programs like Business in Boynton, Coffee Plus, Women’s Business Exchange, and Government & Community Affairs, members can exchange ideas, gain valuable knowledge, and become more involved in what is happening throughout the city.

Public safety in Boynton Beach extends beyond responding to emergencies. Through the city’s Law Enforcement Trust Fund, law enforcement efforts are reinvested into youth programs, nonprofits, and community organizations focused on prevention, youth development, and engagement. Programs including the Police Athletic League (PAL) and Explorer Program give officers opportunities to connect with young people through sports, leadership, and education, building trust while providing positive role models. The fund also supports organizations providing mentorship, education, and resources that strengthen neighborhoods. These investments benefit the business community, too. Businesses thrive where employees feel safe and families are engaged. By bringing law enforcement, nonprofits, schools, businesses, and residents together, Boynton Beach is investing in stronger neighborhoods and its future.

That involvement extends beyond Chamber events. By maintaining a presence at Boynton Beach City Commission meetings, the Chamber helps keep members aware of decisions, initiatives, and developments that may shape Boynton Beach’s future. It also gives the business community greater awareness of the issues and opportunities unfolding around them. Throughout the year, the Chamber highlights the businesses, organizations, and individuals making a difference in Boynton Beach. These efforts encourage greater local involvement and recognize the people contributing to the city’s progress. A city’s future is influenced by those willing to contribute their time, ideas, and leadership. By encouraging that involvement, the Chamber helps cultivate a Boynton Beach where people have a meaningful, lasting stake in what comes next.

6 | Connection Magazine

Boynton Beach Fire Rescue has also strengthened the community’s public safety infrastructure by achieving an ISO Class 1 rating, the highest classification awarded through the Public Protection Classification program. The recognition reflects performance in emergency communications, staffing, training, equipment, water supply, and community risk reduction. Beyond emergency preparedness, insurers can consider ISO classifications when evaluating fire protection and property insurance rates. For businesses, strong public safety infrastructure supports economic confidence and quality of life. The rating also recognizes the city’s commitment to prevention through hazard identification, public education, and risk reduction. Together, these efforts demonstrate how investments in prevention, preparedness, and community relationships are helping build a safer, stronger Boynton Beach.

GOLDEN BELL EDUCATION FOUNDATION THE GOLDEN BELL GRANT BREAKFAST 2026 CELEBRATES EDUCATION, COMMUNITY, AND BOCA RATON STUDENTS On Thursday, September 10, 2026, the Boca Regional Chamber hosted its Annual Golden Bell Grant Breakfast, bringing together business leaders, Chamber members, educators, school administrators, donors, sponsors, and grant recipients to celebrate education in Boca Raton’s public schools. This breakfast connects the local business community with the teachers and students shaping Boca Raton’s future.

Jim and Wanda Moran of the Wanda and James M. Moran Jr. Foundation for their $100,000 award. One of the most meaningful moments of the morning came directly from the students themselves. Emily Newson and Edwin Pierre-Louis, fifth-grade students at J.C. Mitchell Elementary School, took the stage and offered a whole-hearted reminder of why the Foundation’s work matters. As the students brilliantly conveyed: “We know that when you choose to invest in us and our schools, you are choosing to invest in us and our future.”

This year the Foundation awarded 59 grants, representing an investment of more than $172,000 in programs supporting business skills, workforce readiness, innovation, and educational opportunities.

These grants are made possible by donors, business partners, sponsors, and underwriters committed to investing in local students. This year's underwriters include: Boca Raton Airport Authority, BrightView Landscapes, CPG Cares, Damian England, Direct Primary Care of Boca, Frank Barbieri, Hab Center, Lynn University, IberJoya Diamonds, MDC Executive Search, Planestocks, R2 Unified Technologies, Research Park at FAU, and West Boca Medical Center. Special gratitude goes to Jim and Marta Batmasian, founders of Investments Limited, for a $10,000 donation, and

8 | Connection Magazine

Those words capture the essence of the Golden Bell mission. Every grant gives teachers opportunity to introduce innovative programs, provide hands-

on learning, and give students access to valuable resources.

Together, we’re building a brighter future for Boca Raton—one student at a time. A special thank you to Aastro Roofing for sponsoring this breakfast!

FROM YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS \ COMMUNITY LEADERS TO Empowering the Next Generation through YEA!

Entrepreneurship is one of the most powerful learning experiences teens can have because it teaches lessons that go far beyond the classroom. In our Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) program, we aim to grow teens into the CEOs of tomorrow. When teens create or plan a business, they do more than come up with an idea—they learn how to solve real problems, manage money wisely, communicate confidently, and take responsibility for their choices. Our YEA! program serves like-minded and ambitious teens in grades 6th – 12th with the help of Instructors, Mentors, and Guest Speakers. After completing the YEA! program, graduates can join the Chamber Youth Committee (CYC). Teens should continue being involved in their communities. Being immersed into the Chamber business world can help them become stronger, more prepared, and more responsible adults. When teens combine service with business knowledge, they become better problemsolvers who can create ideas that help people and improve their communities. The CYC President, Maxx Viciedo, is a powerful example of how a teen can turn entrepreneurship, leadership, and community engagement into a force for positive change. Maxx graduated from YEA! with the Class of 2024 and now serves as CYC President, demonstrating how programs like these can help teens grow, mature, and develop their talents. He understands that being involved is important for young people because it gives teens the opportunity to get out, meet locals, and develop necessary interpersonal skills. He states, “While the “gift of gab” may come naturally to some, putting yourself out there and having conversations with different people helps you become a more well-rounded individual and a better conversationalist, skills that can benefit you throughout your life.” Maxx, a 12th grader at Saint Andrew’s School, is currently working on an AI startup called AIYouth, which he hopes to help expand AI literacy among K–12 students. His goal is to help prepare the next generation to understand and responsibly use AI in order to lead and innovate with integrity. For more information on YEA! or the CYC, please contact Sherese James at sjamesgrow@bocachamber.com.

Stronger Together We sat down with Lindy Harvey of Spirit of Giving to discuss the power of collaboration, the role businesses play in strengthening our nonprofit community, and how working together creates a lasting impact throughout our region. Tell us a little about yourself and your role as Executive Director of Spirit of Giving. What drew you to this work, and for those who may not be familiar with Spirit of Giving, what is the organization’s mission and the role it plays in our community? I have called Boca Raton home for more than 30 years, raising my family here and watching our community grow in both business and philanthropy. My years volunteering with local nonprofits showed me firsthand the generosity and collaborative spirit that make this community special. That experience ultimately led me to Spirit of Giving, where we bring together more than 130 nonprofit organizations and connect them with businesses, donors, volunteers and valuable resources. We also lead large-scale collaborative programs such as Back to School PBC!, our Holiday Gift Drive, and the Community Spirit Race. Our role is to strengthen the work of our nonprofit partners and create opportunities for all of us to make a greater collective impact.

Spirit of Giving has a unique perspective because you work alongside so many nonprofit organizations throughout our region. How would you describe the nonprofit community in South Palm Beach County, and what makes this community different from others? Having lived here for more than 30 years and experienced this community as a volunteer, fundraiser, and now nonprofit executive, I believe Palm Beach County is truly unique. Our diverse nonprofits address nearly every aspect of life, often with limited resources, yet they remain incredibly creative and adaptable. What stands out most is their willingness to collaborate, share resources, and support one another to ensure people receive the help they need. Spirit of Giving strengthens that collaboration by creating opportunities for nonprofit leaders to build relationships, learn from one another, and work together toward greater collective impact. 12 | Connection Magazine

That generosity of time, talent and treasure extends well beyond individual donors. We have major corporations, corporate headquarters and local businesses that invest significantly in our community. What role does corporate philanthropy play in strengthening our region? Corporate philanthropy plays an essential role in the strength and quality of life of our region. Beyond financial support, companies bring leadership, expertise, volunteers, relationships, and visibility that strengthen nonprofit work. A strong business community and nonprofit community go hand in hand, helping create a region where people want to live, work, raise their families, and build their businesses.

Are you seeing companies think differently today about what it means to be a good corporate citizen? Absolutely. Companies are looking beyond traditional sponsorships and seeking meaningful ways to make an impact. They want to

COVER STORY

understand the need, see the results of their involvement, and give employees meaningful ways to participate. Employees also want to work for companies whose values align with their own. The most impactful businesses make community engagement part of their culture by building long-term nonprofit relationships and sharing their expertise. This shift creates partnerships that are more authentic, strategic, and valuable to both businesses and nonprofits.

The Boca Regional Chamber focuses heavily on “Enhancing Community.” From your perspective, what unique role does the Chamber play in supporting the nonprofit community and helping organizations like Spirit of Giving be more successful? The Boca Raton Chamber serves as a unique bridge between the business and nonprofit sectors, connecting nonprofits with business leaders, decision-makers, and potential partners. For Spirit of Giving, that network helps us extend those connections across more than 130 nonprofit members. One relationship can open the door to resources, volunteers, and partnerships that ultimately benefit thousands of people throughout our community.

After seeing firsthand how much generosity exists in this community, what still inspires or surprises you about the people and organizations that call this region home? Even after more than 30 years here, I am still inspired by how quickly people come together when there is a need. Our nonprofit professionals bring extraordinary creativity, resilience, and compassion, while businesses and residents generously give their time, talent, and resources. I have loved raising my family here and watching this region grow, and what remains most special is that we have maintained a very real sense of community. People care about their neighbors, businesses care about the region, and our nonprofits care deeply about the people they serve. Despite all that growth, that genuine sense of community remains. That spirit of generosity and collaboration is what drew me to this work, and it is what continues to motivate me every day.

How important is it to create connections between the business and nonprofit sectors? It is essential—and at the heart of what we do at Spirit of Giving. Nonprofits understand community needs firsthand, while businesses bring resources, expertise, leadership, and valuable relationships. Connecting those strengths creates a broader impact. The right partnership can strengthen a nonprofit, expand a program, bring an initiative to life, and help ensure every dollar and volunteer hour goes further.

Beyond simply writing a check, what are some of the most impactful ways companies and their employees can engage with local nonprofits? The most important first step is to ask nonprofits what they actually need. Beyond financial support, businesses can share professional expertise, provide volunteers, serve on boards, donate products or services, and connect organizations with new partners. The greatest impact comes from building genuine, long-term relationships. When a company understands an organization and its mission, it becomes more than a sponsor— it becomes a true community partner.

"Our role is to strengthen the work of our nonprofit partners and create opportunities for all of us to make a greater collective impact."

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS NETWORK: BUILDING LEADERS WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE This year marked an exciting new chapter for the Chamber’s Young Professionals with the rebrand of PULSE as the Young Professionals Network, creating a refreshed identity for professionals under 40 who want to grow, lead, and make an impact across our region. The new brand officially came to life at a launch party that brought young professionals together to celebrate what is ahead. Beyond the rebrand, Young Professionals Network continues to create influential experiences that give emerging leaders access to people, perspectives, and opportunities that can shape their careers. In September, the group welcomed Boca Raton Mayor Andy Thomson for a special luncheon, where he shared perspective and advice with young professionals building their careers in our region. Through networking, professional development, and conversations with established leaders, Young Professionals Network encourages members to become active participants in the places where they live and work. By helping emerging professionals develop relationships, confidence, and leadership skills, the program is investing in people who will meaningfully influence local businesses, organizations, and civic life for years to come.
