Supporting members through the power of connection.

Happy New Year and welcome to an exciting 2026! As we step into the new year, there is a renewed sense of momentum and possibility, making this the perfect time to celebrate one of the most powerful forces behind our Chamber’s success: Connecting Members.

Connection is at the heart of who we are and what we do. Our members thrive because of the relationships built across industries, cities, and communities. Whether through events, programs, or shared advocacy, these connections fuel collaboration, opportunity, and growth throughout our business community.

As we begin 2026, we will continue to embrace our era of growth and regional collaboration. Our Chamber continues to expand its reach and deepen its impact across South Palm Beach County and North Broward, strengthening ties between Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Boynton Beach, and the surrounding business communities. This broader perspective allows us to create more opportunities for collaboration, amplify member voices, and foster a truly connected regional network that supports businesses at every stage.

"Connection is at the heart of who we are and what we do. Our members thrive because of the relationships built across industries, cities, and communities."

This issue of Connection highlights the many ways those relationships come to life. Turn to page 6 for a recap of the energy and creativity of the Golden Bell Battle of the Bands, a signature event that brought our community together in support of the Golden Bell Education Foundation and the grants they give to further education. On page 7, we spotlight the continued success of our Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), where the next generation of business leaders is already making meaningful contributions to our community and future workforce.

You will also find features that showcase how connection drives impact, including an article on pages 4 and 5 about Boynton Beach and our growing presence there. Plus, take a look at page 15 to see how Chamber events serve as powerful connectors, turning introductions into partnerships and ideas into action.

Our cover story on pages 12-13 features Bob Tucker—member of the Boca Chamber Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Boca Raton Police Foundation—whose leadership and story exemplify the value of engagement, service, and connection within our business community. His journey is a reminder that meaningful involvement creates lasting influence.

As we move forward, our mission remains clear: to promote and sustain economic prosperity throughout our region. In 2026, we will continue delivering innovative programs, leadership opportunities, education, advocacy, and events that maximize your investment and strengthen your business. As the largest Chamber in Palm Beach County, representing over 1,300 member companies and more than 100,000 employees, we are committed to ensuring our members are connected, supported, and positioned for success.

Thank you for being an integral part of the Boca Chamber. Here’s to a year of stronger connections, growth, and shared success in 2026.

Moving Business Forward,

President & CEO, Troy M. McLellan

BUILDING A CONNECTED BUSINESS COMMUNITY IN BOYNTON

2 nd Annual

BOYNTON BEACH BUSINESS EXPO

Your Gateway to Business Growth

Boynton Beach Takes Center Stage at the 2nd Annual Business Expo

The Courtyard by Marriott in Boynton Beach buzzed with energy as more than 150 attendees and over 30 businesses came together for the 2nd Annual Boynton Beach Business Expo. The event transformed the hotel’s conference space into a lively hub of innovation, connection, and community pride, once again affirming that Boynton Beach is becoming the place to be for business growth and opportunity.

Local entrepreneurs, established companies, and emerging brands spent the evening mixing, mingling, and showcasing the services and products driving Boynton’s economic momentum. From engaging displays to new collaborations formed on the spot, the expo offered a powerful snapshot of a city on the rise.

This event is just one of the many ways the Chamber is helping its members succeed. Every month, the Chamber hosts the Business in Boynton Luncheon, now held at Indian Springs Country Club, where leading business professionals gather to discuss topics shaping our local and regional economy. The luncheon has become a mustattend program for those looking to stay ahead of trends and deepen their professional connections.

The Chamber also facilitates the monthly Government and Community Affairs Meeting at Seacoast Bank. This important gathering brings business and community leaders together to stay informed on key issues, initiatives, and developments impacting Boynton Beach and the surrounding region.

Additionally, the monthly Women’s Business Exchange continues to empower women business leaders by providing a space to share strategies, insights, and practical advice on how to scale and strengthen their businesses. And, our Coffee Plus Network, gathers professionals where ideas (and coffee) flow freely and partnerships are forged.

With events like the Business Expo and a calendar full of high-impact programs, the Chamber remains committed to building a thriving, connected, and opportunityrich business environment in Boynton Beach. The momentum is strong—and growing stronger each month.

Honoring Our Unsung Heroes: First Responders Recognition Event Returns April 24, 2026

On Friday, April 24, 2026, the community will once again come together for one of the most meaningful and heartfelt traditions of the year: the First Responders Recognition Event. This annual gathering continues its mission to honor the men and women who selflessly serve our community every day— protecting the places we live, learn, work, and play.

Last year marked a meaningful expansion of the program. For the first time, the event celebrated

The tradition will continue this year, recognizing the extraordinary commitment of those who run toward danger when others run away. These are the unsung heroes of our community—the first to arrive, the last to leave, and the steady, reassuring presence we rely on in our most vulnerable moments.

The event serves as a powerful reminder that behind every emergency call is a real person answering with courage, skill, and compassion.

GOLDEN BELL BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2025:

SEASON 7 ROCKS BOCA RATON

The 2025 Golden Bell Battle of the Bands, presented by Truist, delivered an unforgettable night of music, energy, and purpose at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus. In partnership with School of Rock Boca Raton, BRiC, and CP Group, the Golden Bell Education Foundation’s signature fundraiser once again transformed local business professionals into novice bands for one night only. After months of rehearsals, learning new instruments, and dedicated fundraising, participants took the stage to support grants for local public schools focused on reading readiness, business skills development, and workforce readiness.

A NIGHT OF INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCES

The night kicked off with a featured performance by Season 6 champions Fever Pitch, whose renditions of Rolling in the Deep and Simply the Best energized the crowd and set the tone for the evening.

The competition opened with Only Bands, featuring Wolfgang Liebertz, Emily DeJonge, Matt Williams, Cindee Conner, and Juan Awad, and managed by Debbie Levine, a Season 2 alum of Federal Highway. Their high-energy performance of Smells Like Teen Spirit launched the competition with an electric start.

Next to take the stage was Wild Souls, managed by Jill Glanzer of Season 4’s 4 Chicks & A Dude. Yulimar Trumbo, Joe Santana, Yvonne Graber, Fern L. Conn, and Susy Boschetti performed their powerful rendition of Immigrant Song earning them a standing ovation from the crowd.

Flirt with Fire kept the momentum strong with a lively performance of Heart of Glass. The band, featuring Kevin Cucci, Sharel Pizarro, Paola Morales, Michael Piccoli, and Jeff Guggenheim, was managed by Stephanie Hicks, a Season 2 winning band member of Mechanical Solidarity.

The battle wrapped up with Out of Office, featuring Matthew Brennan, Marta Rekosiewicz, Caroline Johnson, Tim Ferguson, and Colleen Tuttle. Managed by Valentina Moretti, also a Season 2 winning band member of Mechanical Solidarity, their performance of You Gotta Fight For Your Right (To Party!) had the crowd singing along.

The evening concluded with a special guest performance by local professional band Wolfhawk, who closed out the night with a high-energy set.

Thanks to the dedication of local business professionals who fundraised for this cause, along with the generous support of sponsors, alumni, volunteers, and nearly 500 attendees, the event raised more than $140,000 for the Golden Bell Education Foundation. With the training and coaching partnership of School of Rock Boca Raton, participants confidently took the stage amplifying awareness and driving meaningful fundraising impact for Golden Bell.

Truist, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, CP Group & BRiC, LVL Up Fitness, CBIZ, Florida Blue, Winward Risk Managers, NCCI, SouthState Bank, United Healthcare, Berger Commercial Realty Corp, Wyndham Boca Raton Hotel, The Harbor Financial Group at Morgan Stanley, Boca Raton Airport Authority, Flagler Credit Union, Seacoast, Grimes Events & Party Tents, Gina Fontana Photography, Fan Foto, Unique Gifts & Premiums, ISG Graphics, Premiere Multimedia Group, School of Rock Boca Raton, Fast Signs Coral Springs, Plum Productions, and all organizations who generously donated swag bag items.

WILL YOU BE ONE OF NEXT YEAR’S FUNDRAISING ROCK STARS?

Save the date for Season 8 of the Golden Bell Battle of the Bands on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at BRiC. The question is not if the music will return, but who will step up as Season 8’s fearless fundraisers and take the stage for Golden Bell.

Juan Awad of Only Bands was recognized as the Top Fundraiser of the evening. This year also marked the debut of People’s Choice voting, giving guests a direct voice in the competition, with Only Bands earning the inaugural People’s Choice Award.

After an electrifying night of performances, Wild Souls claimed the top honor and were crowned the Season 7 Golden Bell Battle of the Bands champions.

Season 7 was judged by Jason Aube, Mike Goodwin of Crazy Uncle Mike's, Lindsey Mills of School of Rock Boca Raton, Troy McLellan of Boca Chamber, and John Frasca of Pine Crest School.

We look forward to seeing you for another electrifying night at Season 8 on September 26.

CONNECTING STUDENTS WITH LOCAL BUSINESS LEADERS

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is an exciting program whose direct mission is to help middle and high school students embrace their passion, energy, creativity, and talents to launch a venture as they view entrepreneurship synonymous with success and freedom. Through this year’s 20-week program, students work in close cooperation with local leaders of industry and educators to develop business ideas, conduct market research, and write business plans to launch their very own companies. As the students continue to progress forward in the program, they are currently learning about the financial portion of their business plans to help define their economics of one unit, understanding cost of goods sold, and earning a net profit.

The Chamber Youth Committee in Action

Once students graduate from the program, they can continue their Boca Chamber engagement by joining the newly formed Chamber Youth Committee (CYC). The CYC consists of teen leaders who wish to continue growing their business and

entrepreneurial skills as they learn about the intricacies and complexities of the business world and the communities in which they are located. Events and initiatives from CYC can include meet-and-greet with business executives, community outreach for

social enterprise learning, or working together to create workshops for youth in the community all while earning community service hours. Meetings are held three times during a school year with additional Chamber activities in which they can be involved.

The program brings together a diverse group of professionals from across industries who share a commitment to civic engagement and community growth. Through a carefully curated curriculum, participants gain behind the scenes access to the key sectors that shape Boca Raton and South Palm Beach County, including government, education, healthcare, economic development, media, culture, tourism, agriculture, environment, and non-profit.

As we launch the 2026 class, we are excited to welcome this year’s leadership team. Leadership Boca Class of 2025 Class Project:

Leadership Boca Class President, 2025

Leadership Boca is a unique experience where you spend time as a group learning about the issues facing our community and what kind of impact we, as a class, want to leave behind.

During Human Services Day, we were fortunate to visit several nonprofit organizations throughout our area and see firsthand the vital role each plays in strengthening our community. While every organization was deserving of our time and support, our class was particularly moved by the mission and meaningful work of Best Foot Forward, which provides critical support to foster care and atrisk youth.

Inspired by the impact of their work, our class selected the organization as our service project and jumped in where help was needed most. In preparation for the student holiday party, 16 Leadership Boca classmates wrapped presents, organized the office, and assembled cookie boxes that would be distributed to students. These small but meaningful efforts helped ensure the holiday celebration would be seamless and special for the children they serve.

Best Foot Forward later shared that our efforts made a profound impact in bringing joy to the kids during the holiday season, a message that resonated deeply with our class. In conjunction with the time spent volunteering, classmates who were unable to attend in-person found a way to contribute by donating numerous toys, books, and games, ensuring that everyone had a role in supporting the cause.

This project was a powerful reminder that leadership is not only about learning, but about action. Together, Leadership Boca c/o 2025 was proud to put our best foot forward and help make the holidays a little brighter for the students and families in our community.

BOB TUCKER’S PURPOSEFUL SECOND ACT

We caught up with “Mr. Boca” himself, Bob Tucker—Chamber Board Member and Executive Director of the Boca Raton Police Foundation—to talk about what inspires him, his passion for community, and how he creates lasting, meaningful connections.

Q. Can you tell us a little about yourself and how your background has influenced how you approach connecting community leaders with business leaders?

I flunked retirement! After four decades of corporate life, I retired in 2023 but found there’s only so much pickleball, home improvements, and travel you can do. So, I immersed myself into another personal passion –community service– and now my retired life is very purposeful.

Whether it is volunteering with the Downtown Rotary Club, orchestrating fundraisers for the Boca Raton Police Foundation, or attending one of many Chamber events, I find joy in all of these activities because I know my community is being bettered.

Embedded within those opportunities are making connections. For example, at a recent fundraiser, I introduced Daniel Hostettler, CEO of The Boca Raton, to our new City Manager Mark Sohaney. It was the ultimate connection, linking Boca’s biggest business leader with its most powerful government official. It brought me great satisfaction knowing these two men now have a business relationship which will likely be impactful to our city for years to come.

Q. Can you share your journey with The Boca Chamber? What moments or achievements have been most meaningful to you as a Chamber leader?

When ADT became a public company in 2012, the CEO asked me to lead community engagement and provided a budget. My very first call was to Sarah Pearson. We met and shortly thereafter, ADT became a Chamber member at the Trustee level. A few years later, I was honored to join the Chamber Board and have a front row seat to observe the great Troy McLellan and his amazing team fuel economic growth into our beloved Boca.

I am constantly blown away that a town of 100,000 has 13,000 small businesses, over 40 corporate headquarters and three universities. Clearly, the Chamber has played a huge role in making Boca a world-class city with an enviable reputation.

There have been many memorable moments. Most recently was Boca’s Centennial. On May 26, the crescendo was a drone show over BRiC. I was captivated as an image of a computer floated over the complex, looking back to the 1980s when PCs were invented there. Just thinking of the global impact of that one innovation brought goose bumps!

Q. You’ve had an impressive career spanning corporate leadership, nonprofit engagement, and community service. How has this diverse background shaped your approach to connecting people and organizations, and how do you envision your role continuing to support collaboration in South Palm Beach County?

Forty years ago, when I sported a full head of hair and weighed fifty pounds less, I was a TV news reporter in Orlando. In that role, no day was the same – a murder trial one day and a Space Shuttle launch the next. That experience taught me flexibility, relationship building, and how to leverage communications skills.

As a storyteller, I met people who shaped my personality and influenced how I conduct myself in social and business settings. I learned the art of small talk – how to keep a conversation going, and most importantly, how to remember someone’s name. The trick is, when introduced, to repeat their name back and then weave it back into the conversation a couple more times. It works. While I may not remember what I ate for breakfast, at least I can recall names of most people I’ve met.

After ten years in broadcast journalism, I went to the other side of the microphone, transitioning to a three-decadelong career in PR and media relations. Through the years, I helped shape a positive public image for several big brands; Boeing, Anheuser-Busch, Disney, and ADT. While no longer connected to a corporation, I still see myself as a collaborator supporting growth, prosperity, and commerce in South County.

Q. What inspires you about bringing members together around public safety initiatives, and how do you see these connections positively influencing the broader business community?

At ADT, I developed the award-winning LifeSaver program which reunited customers with employees who helped rescue them from near-death experiences. These emotional connections showcased how customers can connect with a brand on an emotional level. Also at these events, I recognized first responders who put their lives on the line to save others.

That passion for everyday heroes led to my current role as Executive Director of the Boca Raton Police Foundation which raises funds and recognition for our brave men and women in blue.

Public safety is vital to any community. Companies typically decide where to relocate based on several qualifiers like A-rated schools, excellent health care, and a low crime rate.

Continuing to keep Boca safe will require a new police headquarters to be built near the Spanish River Library. Financing this project will be on the March 10 ballot and I encourage everyone to vote “yes.”

Q. Beyond your professional work, you’ve been deeply involved in the community. What contributions or impacts are you most proud of?

I am honored to serve on the Boca Raton Airport Authority Board. It is a fun and easy role because we have one of country’s most talented airport executive directors – the amazing Clara Bennett – running the facility which provides nearly $700 million in annual economic impact.

Last January, I was proud to lead the unveiling of a new airport observation area where visitors can watch aircraft arrivals and departures. They can also learn about aviation and wildlife, like the burrowing owls and gopher tortoises which call the airport home.

It is meaningful connecting people to the wonderful world of aviation through the observation area.

Another contribution I’ve made the past two years is producing the Mayor's Ball on behalf of the Rotary Club Downtown. Bringing together hundreds of business leaders, elected officials, and philanthropists each November to pay homage to Boca Raton and honor outstanding organizations and leaders is quite rewarding for me. It also helps our nonprofit community with proceeds supporting them.

Q. What advice would you give Chamber members about building relationships with both business and civic leaders?

I have been blessed knowing many community connectors over the years. One of the best, Keith O’Donnell, passed away in November. Keith, who served as Chamber Chairman in 2012, personified the ultimate community connector. He leveraged his vast network to bring people together to solve problems, to advance growth, and to help make Boca more bountiful. A trusted leader and driving force behind many major real estate projects, Keith made substantial contributions. He was also my neighbor. As a transplant from California in 2008, I learned much from Keith about Boca’s growth and development. He helped me establish relationships and enjoyed hearing success stories.

My best advice to Chamber members is to emulate much of Keith’s talents – be a good listener, followthrough, participate in events, work hard, and have fun!

CONNECTING MEMBERS THROUGH EVENTS

Without connection, humanity ceases to exist. In a culture where we crave meaningful relationships but cannot seem to find the time to truly build them—and once found, struggle to nurture them— we often end up feeling stretched thin. In those moments, our businesses can stall, our confidence can dip, and our sense of support can feel out of reach. Many of us become drained from “peopling” all day, yet still long for a feeling of being grounded in a circle of genuine allies who understand and champion us.

Chambers exist, yes, to Advance Commerce, Promote Business, and Enhance Community. But at the core of all of it is connection—Connecting Members to opportunities, to resources, and most importantly, to one another so that together, we drive economic prosperity throughout our communities.

Connection is powerful, but it is not always easy. How do you know who to approach? How do you collaborate without competing? How do you know someone will not waste your time? The most meaningful relationships rarely emerge from a single handshake; they grow through shared experiences, consistency, and collective success.

That is exactly what we work to nurture. At the Boca Chamber, every event is intentionally curated to create an environment where your personal and professional journey can thrive and grow. We host a diverse portfolio of over 300 events annually—including networking mixers, breakfasts, Professionals Over 40, Professionals Under 40, Women in Business, community celebrations, philanthropic programs, and so many more. Each serves its own purpose, but all share the same mission: connecting members to one another and to their community. A place where you feel seen, supported, and surrounded by people who genuinely serve as your cheerleaders.

Our job at the Boca Chamber is to design and facilitate thoughtful events that help you feel comfortable, confident, empowered, and inspired. Events that allow you to show up as yourself and walk away with something meaningful: a new collaborator, a new customer, or a renewed sense of belonging. When members connect and support one another, they build resilience, confidence, and a sense of community that extends far beyond any single event.

To ensure every member experiences meaningful value, every event we design focuses knowledge collaboration, impact, inspiration, and the sense of belonging:

Collaboration – Events that spark meaningful connections, partnerships, and long-term opportunities. Impact – Actionable knowledge and strategies that elevate you, your team, and your business.

Inspiration – Ideas and energy that ignite innovation, creativity, and forward momentum.

Belonging – Welcoming, supportive environments where you can engage confidently and comfortably.

So, get connected. Stay connected. And above all, support each other—because the strength of our community, our businesses, and our collective well-being depends on it.

A cultural milestone is coming to Downtown Boca Raton as Festival of the Arts BOCA celebrates its 20th season, February 27–March 8, 2026, at Mizner Park Amphitheater.

Presented by The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, this landmark season launches a new decade of world-class performances and thought-provoking ideas under the theme Legends, Luminaries & the Unexpected.

The Festival opens with the high-energy return of Postmodern Jukebox, followed by Jurassic Park with live orchestra, a stunning ballet showcase by Live Arts Global, and an inspiring Authors & Ideas series featuring Pulitzer Prize–winner Doris Kearns Goodwin, novelist Walter Mosley, bioethicist Arthur Caplan, and political scientist Danielle Gilbert.

The second weekend highlights internationally acclaimed pianist Conrad Tao, Grammy-winning trio Time For Three, and concludes with Broadway icon Patti LuPone in her only Florida performance of the season.

All performances take place at the open-air Mizner Park Amphitheater in the heart of Downtown Boca Raton. Learn more and purchase tickets at festivalboca.org or call 561-571-5270.
