Advancing Commerce Through Investment
To achieve our mission of sustaining economic prosperity, the Boca Chamber creates a climate where businesses can succeed. For over 70 years, the Chamber has worked toward Advancing Commerce by providing the necessary tools and resources to help all businesses grow and prosper. The numerous professional seminars and workshops offered are meant to help business owners and professionals develop best practices, cultivate staff, and encourage leadership and engagement. In addition, the Chamber develops partnerships and builds business networks that advance commerce throughout the business community.
One such partnership is with the Town Center at Boca Raton. This dynamic and upscale retailer is one of our region's most significant taxcontributing properties - the single largest in Palm Beach County alone. Town Center at Boca Raton, owned by Simon Properties, has created a destination in Boca Raton, elevating this region to include many luxury brand retailers. In fact - this property is the only one of its kind in the United States to carry four luxury anchor retail stores. These retailers provide jobs, pay state and local taxes, support local businesses, and support the community through many philanthropic initiatives.
Town Center at Boca Raton directly benefits the population it serves. The bonus service is that Simon Properties also invests in entertainment and experiential brands that align with their business, adding value and elevating the retail experience. Bringing luxe brands to the region leads the way to Advancing Commerce. You can read more about the Town Center at Boca Raton and its General Manager, Sal Saldaña, the Chamber's incoming Chairman, on page 12.

It doesn't stop there. We continue to Advance Commerce by investing in our future workforce through the Golden Bell Education Foundation. Golden Bell awards grants to Boca Raton public school teachers and administrators for programs that support the development of business skills and workforce readiness. This funding supports our teacher's efforts to provide the best educational programming possible, often exceeding the public-school standards. Today’s students are your employees tomorrow. Golden Bell’s investment in our future workforce will deliver significant returns to our business community’s growth.
Each year the Chamber recognizes Business Excellence at the annual Business Awards Luncheon. This marquis event – set to take place on May 19th - honors businesses and business leaders for their success and overall impact on the community they serve. Boynton Beach - On the Move
There is a lot brewing within the community of Boynton Beach and getting involved with the Chamber is the best way to stay in the know. From our Government Affairs Committee to Coffee Plus Network, our events will position you at the forefront of all the new and exciting activity to come.
Boynton Beach is experiencing a renaissance of its own since the opening of the new Town Square, and even more development is on the way. The city has recently announced that they will be opening City Hall to the public. This beautiful four-story building is the ideal place for students to study, virtual employees to work or even residents to meet. Plus, it is equipped with an Innovation Space Business Incubator designed for early-stage startups.
The Chamber looks forward to working alongside the City of Boynton Beach to enhance the business community and see the city flourish. Beyond the city commission meetings, there are various neighborhood events that you don’t want to miss. Network at Business over Brews or stop by the first Friday of every month for a special concert at the Boynton Beach Amphitheater.
Per tradition, the Chamber will be holding its annual Boynton Beach First Responders Luncheon on Friday, April 14th at Benvenuto Restaurant. This tradition, held by the Boynton Beach Chamber and partnered with the Boca Raton Chamber, will honor and recognize a distinguished Boynton Beach Police Officer, Firefighter and EMT. The first responders are selected by their departments for outstanding service to their community. This is not only a great opportunity to support our local First Responders, but also a way to connect with fellow Chamber Members.

THE GOLDEN BELL EDUCATION FOUNDATION GOLDEN BELL EDUCATION FOUNDATION
Investing in Our Local Public Schools
The Golden Bell Education Foundation was created by the Chamber’s Board of Directors as a way to give back to their members. The Foundation exists to support Boca Raton public schools by administering funds and educational programs that promote business skills for students. The Foundation has been awarding grants to Boca Raton public school teachers K-12 for over thirty years. By giving to schools today, the foundation is creating a stronger generation of leaders for tomorrow that will go on to work and lead throughout our local community. We are advancing commerce by investing in our future workforce.
The Golden Bell Education Foundation has awarded just over $110,000 to Boca Raton public schools for the 2022- 23 school year. Here are some of the exciting and impactful programs currently being supported.
Coral Sunset Elementary School was awarded $1,321.35 to purchase Haggerty phonemic awareness programs for students who are showing a deficient in reading in K-5.
These are quick lessons that are easy for teachers and students to use. The program uses hand motions to help students with the development of phonemic awareness. There are 1-2 minute instructional videos that demonstrate the motions to the teachers. The hand motions make it fun for the students and helps them with comprehension. Eagles Landing Middle School was awarded $2,500 for a 3D printer. Ms. Hahn used this to print replicas of prehistoric horse teeth. The students measured the teeth of different horses to see the development of the animal over time as it relates to climate change. There are many more lessons she plans using the printer will share this with the other teachers at Eagles Landing.
Boca Raton High School was awarded $1,500 to help the Science Olympiad team cover costs related to program and tournament registration. The Science Olympiad team works all year on this project. All team members work individually, focused on their projects. This club teaches student perseverance, working under pressure, and healthy competition. Mr. Benskin works extremely hard for the Olympiads and contacts many companies throughout the year to gain materials and resources for them.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy! (YEA!) is a sixmonth program where students create their very own businesses. The students work with local business leaders; instructors and mentors to help build their brands and teach them about market research, viability, presentation skills, and the financials of running their own business. The program ends with a ‘Shark Tank’ style competition where the students pitch their businesses to a panel of investors to ask for funding. Every year our students of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy! continue to blow us away with the creative and innovative businesses they established, and the Class of 2023 was no different. This year, 17 students completed the program, each having a unique business.
