Due to the tremendous success of Enfield Market’s Charter Fayre last year, we now hope to hold

the

event annually. This year’s Charter Fayre will be on Sunday May 19th. The Market Place will be full of crafts; school art and local artist exhibitions and many charity stalls. A lineup of local bands will entertain on the Market House. En route to the family area you will find Poets’ Corner and, within St Andrew’s Church grounds, pony rides, princesses, face painting and other craft activities. A varied selection of street food and drink will be available throughout the day and lots more…

PARISH BOUNDARY

TRUST INCOME AND GRANT AWARDS Enfield Market takes place 3 days a week and a car park is operated on the remaining days. The income generated from car park and Market is awarded as grants within the Parish of Enfield. Other Trust income is generated from a property portfolio and investments.

HOW DOES THE TRUST WORK? There are 15 Trustees - 11 appointed as vacancies arise, two nominated by the c ouncil and two by St Andrew’s Church. All Trustees live, work, or otherwise have a good knowledge of the Ancient

ANNE CROWES ALMHOUSES

parish - the area covered by the Trust. Most of the Trust’s business is carried out by committees, which meet regularly. All the Trustees meet quarterly to deal with the management of the Trust and decide how the Trust’s funds should be spent.

WRIGHT’S ALMHOUSES A separate Charity which operates in conjunction with The Old Enfield Charitable Trust is ‘Ann Crowe’s and Wright’s Almshouses’ (reg no 279346). A terrace of four one-bedroom bungalows, just off Turkey Street, and a terrace of six one-bedroom houses, situated along Hertford Road.

These

houses are let to needy residents of the Ancient Parish of Enfield and were originally built for widows.

The Trust income is generated by proceeds from Enfield Market and from ownership of other Properties and Investments. The Trust is a self funded Charity.

WHO DOES THE PAPERWORK? A Trust Manager oversees the day to day running of the Trust, with the help of 3 full time members of staff, who each specialise in a particular area of the Trust’s work.

Vacancies arise from time to time. If you would like
