We are pleased to share this collection of works for the inaugural sale of our newly established auction house.
We founded Jones Auction House for the same reason that we established our contemporary art gallery in 2010 - we believe that Atlantic Canadian artists, artworks, and collections are important, deserving of care, attention, research, and respect. We hope here to act as caretakers and advocates for significant historical works and look forward to sharing this journey with you.

A handwritten note from Maud Lewis to Joan Small’s father, the owner of a lumber mill and supply store in the area who frequently provided the artist with painting surfaces. (Provided by Joan Small & Family.)
Joan Small’s collection features six paintings by Nova Scotia artists Maud and Everett Lewis. Small is from the Digby, Nova Scotia; her father owned a lumber mill and supply store in the area and frequently provided Maud Lewis with painting surfaces.
The paintings in this collection were acquired directly from Maud and Everett Lewis and passed by descent to Joan Small.
