BULLYING GETS A KICK IN THE TEETH
In the lead up to the event, Practice Principal Jonathan Alexander-Abt, his patient Sarah and her mother were interviewed on Jack FM Radio at their studios in Knebworth.
UK ANTI-BULLYING WEEK 19-23 NOVEMBER 2012 During UK Anti-Bullying Week in November 2012, Inline Orthodontics brought together local secondary school headteachers, GDPs and youth workers to discuss how we can work together to help beat bullying in our community. We heard from Stevenage MP Stephen McPartland, the Director of Social Action for leading charity BeatBullying and our patient, Sarah, who eloquently shared with everyone her experience of being bullied because of her malocclusion and how orthodontic correction boosted her confidence! The event was a resounding success and follow up plans include school visits by Inline Orthodontics’ team members. Stevenage MP Stephen McPartland launched the start of the campaign as part of UK Anti-Bullying Week. Stephen said, “Bullying in any form is a disgrace and destroys lives, especially among young people. Stopping bullying is critical and giving young people confidence back through a great smile can be a big part in helping them to rebuild their self-esteem. I will keep up the campaign to stamp out bullying and helping people to get on with their lives.”

LIVE TREATMENT EVENT
Dentists from Stevenage Dental Practice attended a Live Treatment Event at Inline Orthodontics where they observed patients whom they had referred for orthodontic treatment being treated. With the patients’ consent, Practice Principal Jonathan Alexander-Abt demonstrated a fixed appliance bond-up, a removable appliance adjustment and a fixed brace adjustment on a patient who was also fitted with Twin Force© bite correctors and orthodontic miniscrew bone anchors. The demonstration was followed by a question and answer session over a light lunch and participants were issued with verifiable CPD certificates. If you would like for us to arrange a Live Treatment Event for your practice, please contact Rhonda, our practice manager, at raa@inlineortho.co.uk.
“I just want to say how useful it was for our entire practice to witness firsthand the care you give to our patients. The session helped us to be more informed about orthodontic treatment - so helpful when fielding questions from parents and patients. Your surgery and the care you deliver is truly impressive. Thank you again”. Dr Mansoor Esmail, Principal, Stevenage Dental Practice
