When the design is going to differnet stages, I can use this to check wheather the design is fit for the basis target or not. After making some idea on hygiene problem, I tried to design a possible system. And thinking how hawker cart design can act in connect to the system.

Details Of Hawker Cart Design

Transparence Cover Design In trandition, The cooking pot is usually open to the air. These is high chance for pollution as the cart is used on the streets or public areas. Also, the air quality near the street is poor. Many dust in the air may be in touch with food. However there is some benefits with using open cooking devices. People can see the quality of food and smell them before buy. Hong Kong people like to judge the taste of food by “Color, Flavour, Taste”. Therefore, In the design I try to keep the food can be see but discontact to the environment.

The transparence cover is made by high hardnessplastic, There are some holes added on the cover and they have some function. on the hawker’s side, the holes allow hawkers’ hands get in the to cook the food and handle the food, including giving food to customers. On the customer’s side. I reference the design of bank counters, there is a gap under the plastic cover for pssing the food from cooking device to customer.

Portable Sink Design Hawker Carts are aleays lack of device for hawkers cleaning the cooking area and their hands. In the past, they choose to use a wet towel to do so. However, a towel used over a night. people can imagine how dirty it is. I think this is not a good way for cleanig. New cleaning method must come out. The portable sink design can let the hawkers washing their hand without

Also. the funstion of burning fuel is limited. The fuel can only provides the cooking function. For example, users can not lighting up or freezing food by burning fuel. electricity is a better power. It is safety,

CONCEPTS OF HAWKER CART After the mid-term presentation, I continued the development. I first study more and clear the concepts I picked in the mid -term. Because of better study in some concept, some of them I gave up and added some new features in the design.

I started to fix the form and material of the new designed hawker cart. This is interesting on getting balance between tradition and innovition. My design can not be totally new. It will destory the feel and emotion of people. I kept some characters of traditional hawker car. For example, some part is made by wood. Because wood is a main material of old hawker cart.

Lighting Desingn At night, lighting is not enough to hawker and customers sometime. I think a new designed hawker cart should have lighting function. Therefore, I tried to put this function in the design.

Applicaiton Design Nowaday, appication can help a lot in promotion. Also, it provide a interactib=ve platform to people building communication. I designed a app system which canuse it to track the location of carts and give comment to them, Peopl e also can share the food they like to their friends by communication platform.

Zones With Different Funcitons I tried to increase the efficiency of hawker bu redesigning the cart. It will give too benefits. Increasing the rate of selling food can reduce the number of people waiting to call food and get food. Also, it can help to increase the turnover of hawkers because they can sell more in a hour.

PROTOTYPE As there are many part in my design. I faced a lot of problems in making the prototype of Hawker Cart.

I Used 2 different type of 3D method to build most of parts of Cart and improve the finishing and color by myself. Some transparent parts like the cover I use laser cut to build the part.

There is about a week for making this prototype. The assemble can be changed for better presenting.
