ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Im an RMIT accredited designer with several years of industry experience in trade and design. I have a passion for creating intelligent and emotional design responses that convey strong concepts from sketch to built form. I am also committed to sustainability design, and I strive to incorporate environmental and social considerations into my projects. I am a fun and casual person who enjoys working in a team. I am looking for a studio that can offer me new design challenges in different sectors from my previous experience in residential design. I am particularly interested in education or commercial design, as I want to specialize in this field and learn from a great mentor.

In my design process, I use extremes as a way of challenging the conventional sequence of design. Instead of starting from a sketch and moving towards a construction detail, I reverse the order and position a construction detail adjacent to a sketch medium. This allows me to explore the relationship between the materiality, structure and form of the design, and how they influence each other. By doing this, I aim to achieve the ultimate outcome of creating a design that is innovative, coherent and efficient.

TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY(REVIT)

As a designer, I have a strong interest and passion for technology and its role in the profession. I constantly seek to improve and integrate technology into my practice, by learning new skills, tools and methods, and by applying them to my projects. I also actively participate in conversations and collaborations with other professionals, who share my curiosity and enthusiasm for technology. I enjoy exchanging ideas, experiences and feedback with them, and learning from their perspectives and insights.

I believe that technology is not only a means to an end, but also a source of inspiration and innovation for architecture. Technology challenges me to think creatively and critically, to explore new possibilities and solutions, and to push the boundaries of design. Technology also enables me to communicate more effectively and efficiently, to engage with different audiences and stakeholders, and to respond to their needs and expectations.

I am always curious about what next technology is approaching, and how it will affect the future of architecture. I am eager to embrace new opportunities and challenges that technology offers, and to contribute to the advancement of the profession.

MIXED-USE , FITZROY(SKETCH DESIGN)

My designs are driven by the question of how different gestures in the program, community and built form shape the relationships among them. I aim to create designs that foster social interaction, cultural diversity and spatial quality. To achieve this, I use various tools and techniques, such as mapping, diagramming, modeling and prototyping, to analyze the site conditions, identify the needs and aspirations of the users, and generate design solutions that respond to the context. I also examine how a stream of programs can integrate growth and mixed-use strategies into the urban fabric without disrupting the natural environment. I observe how nature adapts its program to the changing ground level, and I wonder if the built environment can do the same. Can we use the open space above the ground plane to create more sustainable and livable designs? How can we balance the needs of the environment and the people while respecting the existing context and history? To answer these questions, I conduct research on best practices, case studies and precedents, and I test different scenarios and alternatives that explore the potential of vertical urbanism, green infrastructure and adaptive reus

In my design process, I use extremes as a way of challenging the conventional sequence of design. Instead of starting from a sketch and moving towards a construction detail, I reverse the order and position a construction detail adjacent to a sketch medium. This allows me to explore the relationship between the materiality, structure and form of the design, and how they influence each other. By doing this, I aim to achieve the ultimate outcome of creating a design that is innovative, coherent and efficient.

The impact of this approach on the design in construction is significant. It enables me to consider the feasibility, durability and performance of the design from the beginning, and to avoid potential problems or conflicts that might arise later in the construction phase. It also helps me to communicate my design intentions more clearly and convincingly to the clients, contractors and stakeholders, by showing them how the design works at different scales and levels of detail. Furthermore, it allows me to create a design that is responsive to the site conditions, user needs and environmental factors, by testing and refining the construction detail in relation to the sketch medium.

Technology is a fundamental aspect of architecture in the 21st century. It influences every stage of the design process, from conception to construction, and beyond. Technology enables architects to create designs that are more creative, complex and responsive, by using digital tools and techniques, such as parametric modeling, generative design, simulation and fabrication. Technology also allows architects to collaborate with other disciplines and stakeholders, by using platforms and networks, such as cloud computing, social media and blockchain. Technology also empowers architects to engage with the users and the public, by using devices and systems, such as sensors, interactive media and smart buildings.

However, technology also poses challenges and controversies for architecture. It disrupts the traditional roles and practices of architects, by introducing new actors and agents, such as artificial intelligence, algorithms and automation. It also challenges the ethical and social implications of architecture, by raising questions about privacy, security and sustainability. It also creates new opportunities and risks for innovation, by enabling experimentation, exploration and transformation.

Therefore, technology is not only a tool or a medium for architecture, but also a driver and a catalyst for change. Technology shapes and reshapes the way architects think, work and communicate. Technology also reflects and affects the way architecture relates to the environment, the society and the culture. Technology is both an opportunity and a responsibility for architects, who must use it wisely and critically, to create designs that are not only functional and aesthetic, but also meaningful and ethical.
