ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND GOVERNANCE SUMMARY

A focus on environmental sustainability and leadership AUGUST 2019

We balance responsible development with sustaining our environment

“Jonah Energy's past and present operations in the Jonah Field reflect the company's commitment to gainful and responsible natural gas production as well as environmental sustainability and protection.” Representative Steve Harshman, Speaker of the Wyoming House of Representatives

About the Jonah Field THE JONAH FIELD IS THE 8TH LARGEST NATURAL GAS FIELD IN THE COUNTRY JONAH ENERGY PRODUCES THE ENERGY EQUIVALENT OF 629,000,000,000 BTU A DAY

OR ENOUGH ENERGY TO POWER 3.3 MILLION HOMES OR COOK 1.4 BILLION EGGS

By reducing habitat loss and reclaiming the land, we limit the long-term impacts to wildlife habitat.

80%

80% of our disturbed acreage to date (5,945 of 7,573 acres) is under reclamation, the highest of any operator in Wyoming.

SINCE 2016 IN THE NORTHERN JONAH FIELD WE HAVE:

WE SPEND AN AVERAGE OF $1.5M/YEAR ON RECLAMATION

Reduced overall well pad surface disturbance by ~80%

We have a diligent wildlife seed mix selection process to prevent the spread of invasive species

Reduced the number of well pads by 90%

We monitor each location yearly to evaluate effectiveness and prescribe remediation strategies

Achieved a 90% reduction in human presence associated with rig mobilization, demobilization and a 27% reduction in the duration of development

Jonah Energy is the first and only operator to be awarded rollover credits in the U.S. To date, 67 locations totaling 175 acres are considered fully reclaimed and utilized by wildlife

Our new Jonah Extension Project includes significant environmentally sustainable practices that result in short-term impact of only 4.5% surface disturbance and long-term minimal impact of approximately 1% We have a partnership with the University of Wyoming Reclamation and Restoration Center to advance our understanding of reclamation and improve and accelerate its benefits

We are a leader in sustainable development within the sensitive sage grouse habitat

We have commissioned and are partially financing a scientific study to understand and protect vital winter concentration areas and voluntarily agreed to limit development pending the outcome. We are a leader in the Wyoming Sage Grouse Implementation Plan, a milestone in the protection of this species, and have worked for over a decade with conservation organizations and Wyoming officials to design, lead and implement a program that precluded the need to list the Greater Sage Grouse as endangered. We partner with wildlife protection organizations including The Nature Conservancy and National Audubon Society to bring better science and practices to the protection of wildlife.

We empower our employees to protect and enhance our environment

We team with the Wyoming Game and Fish, conservation groups and other industry partners to install protective fences to protect aspens and willows and modify fences throughout the Upper Green River Basin to create safe passthroughs for migrating deer and pronghorn.

“The old stock fences were not wildlife friendly. This fence was removed and replaced with a pole-top wildlife friendly fence,” said Kyle Berg, Pinedale habitat access biologist. “Converting older fencing to a wildlife friendly design means that deer, moose and other migrating game will not get caught while en route.”

We have a track record of developing and implementing leading air emission practices Our leadership has led to the formation of new state environmental regulations on groundwater protection and emissions. We helped form the Jonah Pinedale Industry Collaboration (JPIC) that will further reduce air emissions in the Upper Green River Basin.

DUE TO OUR INTENSIVE LEAK DETECTION AND REPAIR EFFORTS OUR EMISSION INTENSITY IS EXTREMELY LOW: DESPITE PRODUCING APPROXIMATELY 550 MMCF/D OF NATURAL GAS, OR ABOUT 0.5% OF U.S. LOWER 48 PRODUCTION, OUR ANNUAL FUGITIVE METHANE EMISSIONS ARE ABOUT EQUAL TO THAT OF 191 COWS.

“Jonah Energy began implementing proven technologies such as infrared cameras to monitor leaks across its sprawling operations about five years ago—and the results have been astounding. Since implementing this cost-effective technology, Jonah Energy has reduced fugitive emissions by 75% and reduced repair time by 85%, ultimately saving more than $5 million in what otherwise would have been wasted product. The story of Jonah Energy is promising and there are others like it, but sadly methane management is not the industry norm.” Mark Brownstein, Vice President, Climate & Energy Program, Environmental Defense Fund

WE UTILIZE CLEAN NATURAL GAS AS A FUEL SOURCE FOR OUR DRILL RIGS AND PRODUCTION OPERATIONS OUR TECHNIQUES TO REDUCE EMISSIONS INCLUDE:

“In the area of fugitive emissions mitigation, Jonah Energy is a leader and an example of what can be done when industry leaders step up to the plate for more than just their own bottom line… Jonah’s more robust leak detection program demonstrates what is possible when a company prioritizes Wyoming’s environment and its people, along with its own bottom line.” Amber Reimondo, Wyoming Outdoor Council Environmental Quality Advocate

We reduce freshwater consumption through our industry-leading water recycle and reuse program

0 2.5x 100% 25% -55%

None of our water is sourced from surface withdrawals (i.e. rivers and lakes) We protect area aquifers by protective well casing covering 2.5 times the vertical depth of all known aquifers 100% of all water generated from our completions is recycled 25% of all our produced water is recycled We have reduced freshwater consumption by over 55% in the past 4 years

WE SAMPLE GROUNDWATER WELLS ANNUALLY TO ENSURE NO CONTAMINATION

We handled 4,066,859 barrels of produced water in 2018. Our spill volume was 174 barrels or 0.004% We handled 2,012,524 barrels of condensate and spilled 19 barrels or 0.001%, virtually all recovered

We invest in solar power generation to reduce our impact and increase efficiencies

WE UTILIZE SOLAR POWER ON OVER 4,000 FIELD UNITS GENERATING OVER 2.2MW OF ENERGY VIA SOLAR POWER, ENOUGH TO POWER 450 HOMES...

... AND BY MINIMIZING OUR ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE, WE MINIMIZE THE IMPACT TO WILDLIFE HABITAT.

We take pride in the ability and willingness of our team to give back to those in need

Each year Jonah Energy partners with Sublette County Sexual Assault Family Violence (SAFV) Task Force through funding and volunteer support to provide protection, assistance and support to the victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Our joint mission is a commitment to ending violence through prevention education and social change.
