Have you heard of a magic e It changes sounds so easily It sits on the end of a word like ‘cop’ And sends its magic over with a hop The magic makes the vowel say its name So the word will never ever be the same With a spark of magic hop turns into hope Pip turns to pipe and cop to cope Hop-over e works on short vowel sounds And changes them to long ones with some leaps and bounds Turn cub to cube and hat to hate The magic e will help you and you’ll think it’s great!
