Summer at Howell Woods

Campers enjoying one of their daily truck ride. These rides gave campers a chance to tour the property and socialize. Summer at Howell Woods brings longer days, warmer temperatures, and summer camps! Campers participated in a variety of nature-themed activities and crafts during camp, including making bird feeders.

In August, we hosted our annual

Perseid Meteor Shower Camp-

Out. Participants camped out in our parking lot field for a full night of star gazing. Members of the local Raleigh Astronomy Club brought telescopes for the public to view through.

Outdoor Trekkers had a chance to take a guided kayak trip down the Neuse River during camp.
