Advanced SWAT Course
This course is designed to provide law enforcement officers with the Advanced skills required to be a member of an SRT or SWAT team. All participants must have previously completed a Basic SWAT Course
Special emphasis will be placed on close quarters marksmanship with rifle and pistol, the tactics required when officers enter a residential or commercial building, as well as their ability to react to armed confrontations in and around structures.
During “live-fire” drills (Day/Night), Simmunition drills with force on force (Day/Night), and tactical scenarios, the participant will progress towards the highest level of understanding and functioning. The following skill sets will be covered:
Advanced Close quarters marksmanship
Fire and Maneuver Techniques
White Light CQB
NVG CQB
Force On Force CQB Day/Night (Utilizing White Light and NVG)
The following equipment and ammunition are required:
Handgun and Duty Belt or Battle Belt with a minimum of 3 ea. Magazines
Patrol Rifle with the following: Sling, and 3 ea. Magazines
Weapon Mounted Lights
Simunition rifle bolt and 500 simmunition rounds
Simunition pistol and 200 simmunition rounds
500-rds Handgun/600-rds Rifle (no frangible or armor piercing rounds)
Eye/Hearing/Protection
Ballistic Armor with kit or duty vest
Helmet
NVGs (optional)
Weapons cleaning equipment
The following equipment is recommended but not required:
Individual First Aid Kit and/or any Med bag that the individual or Team normally utilizes (highly suggested but not required**)
Personnel Protection Equipment for force-on-Force training
NVGs are not a requirement. If your agency does not employ NVGs while conducting CQB during periods of darkness, you will utilize white light clearing procedures during night time CQB training
