Tactical Entry
This is a 2-day twenty (20) hour course designed to enhance an officer’s tactical capabilities.
Special emphasis will be placed on the tactics required when officers enter a residential or commercial building, as well as their ability to react to armed confrontations in and around structures.
An officer must be competent and confident in their weapons handling procedures when they enter any structure.
During “live-fire” drills and simmunition tactical scenarios, the participant will progress towards a higher level of understanding and functioning. The following skill sets will be covered:
React to armed confrontations in and around structures.
1-2 Man residential/commercial building entry/clearing techniques
The overall goal of this training event is to develop lifesaving tactics, techniques, and procedures resulting in an increased probability of survival while “winning the fight”.
The following equipment and ammunition are required:
Handgun and Duty Belt or Battle Belt with a minimum of 3 ea. Magazines
Patrol Rifle with the following: Sling, and 3 ea. Magazines
300rds Handgun/300-rds Rifle
Eye/Hearing protection
Ballistic Armor that is worn while “on-duty”
Ballistic Helmet
Weapons cleaning equipment
The following equipment and ammunition are optional:
100rds Handgun Simmunition/100-rds Rifle simmunition
Simmunition Pistol or conversion kit
Simmunition rifle or conversion bolt
Simmunition protective gear
**A “Chest Rig”, or “Plate- Carrier for carrying/holding Patrol Rifle Magazines highly suggested but not required**
