MILESTONES LIVING HISTORY MUSEUM

Step back in time at Milestones Living History Museum, a charming indoor recreation of Hampshire life from the Victorian era through to the 1940’s. Wander cobbled streets, explore vintage shops and vehicles, browse the 1940’s sweet shop, and enjoy a pint in a traditional pub.

HAMPTON COURT PALACE TULIP FESTIVAL

Hampton Court Palace was built in 1520 and is England’s last and greatest medieval hall with its fine tapestries. Follow the dedicated Tulip trail and enjoy an amazing Tulip extravaganza, with over 250,000 bulbs having been planted especially for the occasion!

LONGLEAT SAFARI PARK

Longleat House is a masterpiece of Elizabethan architecture which contains one of the most significant private collections in Britain. RAF COSFORD AIR SHOW

The Royal Air Force’s only official air show, Cosford Air Show, is one of the largest events in the West Midlands and includes a packed flying schedule offering non-stop entertainment with over six hours programmed flying displays. One of the great days out in the English social calendar! National Trust

The National Trust is an independent charity and membership organisation for environmental and heritage conservation in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The trust describes itself as “a charity that works to preserve and protect historic places and spaces – for ever, for everyone”. This section highlights some of the unique properties that are worth a visit. From castles to historic houses, there really is something for everyone!

Admission is not included on our National Trust excursions. We recommend signing up for National Trust membership to enjoy free admission to all these properties.

WIMPOLE ESTATE

Wimpole Estate offers a grand mansion set within extensive parkland, with over 2,000 years of history. Enjoy a visit through elegant Georgian interiors and changing architectural styles, then explore Home Farm and the gardens. No Admission Included

The English Heritage Trust has been managing historic properties since 1983 and, today, look after over 400 monuments, buildings and places. These include prehistoric sites, medieval castles, Roman forts and country houses. Their aim is to “bring the story of England to life for over 10 million people each year”. This section highlights some of the unique properties that are worth a visit. There really is something for everyone!

Bodnant Garden is one of the most beautiful gardens in the UK, spanning some 80 acres and is situated above the River Conwy, looking across the valley towards the Snowdonia mountain range. During our visit, we see the ongoing revival of these magnificent gardens, along with a David Austin Rose Garden, daffodil and iris collections, a cut flower garden and a cottage garden.

A talk from Lady Cholmeley gives an insightful talk into the process of reclaiming the gardens. We also spend time in the historic market town of Melton Mowbray.

THE WORKHOUSE AND INFIRMARY

Built in 1824 as a last resort for many people, this rural workhouse is one of the best preserved and most complete in England. It was designed to house around 160 inmates, who lived and worked in a strictly segregated environment with virtually no contact between the old and infirm, ablebodied men and women, and children. Making enquiries and booking your excursion

INFORMATION AND ADVICE

Contact our Travel Office at Henley in Arden. Callers are welcome at our offices at Liveridge Hill, (on the Birmingham Road A3400, just north of Henley) where there is ample free parking. You will find our cheerful staff happy to answer any queries you may have.

EXCURSION BOOKINGS

To make a provisional booking, a simple telephone call is all that is needed. We will hold places for you without obligation for 7 days. You can book directly with our Travel Office, through an appointed Travel Agent, or online at www.johnsonscoaches.co.uk.

Please note that provisional bookings will be cancelled automatically if payment is not received within 7 days.

CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING

In order to confirm your booking, we require payment in full at the time of booking. Once payment is received, we will send your confirmation/receipt, the number and location of seats booked. Pick-up times will be confirmed within five days of the excursion departure date. Please check your confirmation details carefully, as any alterations and pick-up point changes within 8 days of the excursion will incur a £10 per booking administration charge.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Payment can be made via debit/credit card. If paying by cheque, please make cheques payable to ‘Johnsons (Henley) LTD’

REDUCTIONS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS, STUDENTS & CHILDREN

Senior Citizens and Students (with a valid student card) are carried at the Concession rate. Children aged 4-14 are carried at the Child rates which are available on request. Please note we cannot accept unaccompanied children below 14 years of age.

CANCELLATION

(a) BY THE COMPANY – should circumstances arise where, due to less than 20 bookings, we are forced to cancel any excursion; all monies paid by all passengers for that particular excursion will be refunded. Following that, the Company shall be exempt from any further liability. However, in addition to this, we will offer a 5% discount off the price of an alternative excursion booked as a result of the cancellation.

(b) BY THE PASSENGER – Excursion Bookings

You may cancel your booking at any time prior to departure, subject to the following conditions:

(i) For cancellations notified to us more than 7 days prior to the departure of the excursion, a £5.00 charge per person is made.

(ii) For cancellations for which less than 7 clear working days’ notice is received, the full cost of the excursion will be charged.

(iii) Special cancellation charges may apply where admission tickets and/or meals are purchased in advance.

(c) BY THE PASSENGER –Express Excursion

Bookings

You may cancel your booking at any time, however, your fare is non-refundable

ALTERATIONS

The Company reserves the right to alter excursions or prices, the size, seating arrangement and specification of the vehicle used, or to cancel any excursion listed in this brochure.

ADMISSION CHARGES

Please see each individual excursion that will list which extras (ie lunch, admission charges etc) are included. On Express Excursions, admissions are not included

NOTIFICATION OF BOARDING TIMES

You will be informed of your pick up time by e-mail at approximately 5 days prior to the departure date. Customers who are not contactable in this way will be notified by post. If you have not received your pick up time within 3 days of departure, please contact our Travel Office on 01564 797000 (option 0).

GROUP BOOKING

When reserving 15 or more places in a single booking, we are pleased to offer 1 pick-up from a location of your choice (Subject to vehicular access). Discounts may also be available dependant on numbers booked.

LATE BOOKING

If your booking is made within 7 days of departure, some pick up points may not be available and payment in full is required at the time of booking. Please check with our Reservations staff who will be happy to advise you.

FEEDER VEHICLES

Feeder vehicles may be used to bring you to join the main coach. Please note that the feeder vehicle may be a Coach, Minibus or Taxi.

The majority of our Day Excursions are operated by our ‘Club Class’ 51 seater or 49 seater coaches which are equipped with the following luxury features:
