4 8 TH A N N U A L GENETIC ADVANTAGE BULL SALE

February 29, 2020 1:00 CST

Mobridge Livestock – Mobridge, SD 62 YEARS OF AI & PRODUCTION TESTING

Welcome Cattlemen! We are excited to invite you all to our 48th annual bull sale on February 29, 2020. The bulls in the sale are a true testament to how hard our cows work to get the job done. These cows thrive on Native grass in the summer and are only supplemented with hay when winter weather dictates. We consistently calve over 85% of them in the first cycle. Our bulls are not supplemented with creep feed – this is an accurate representation of what the cows get done. I really encourage you to come out in the summer to take a look at the calves on the cow and get a closer look at our program. 2019 brought its share of challenges for everyone. The bulls were weaned a little later this year due to the first blizzard of the season; they were weighed and brought home on October 19. They stayed on a small pasture post weaning and were hand fed for about a month with a protein pellet and some long hay. While we pride ourselves on top notch dispositions year after year, I can assure you this is the calmest set of bulls we have ever offered. The bulls are developed on a high roughage ration to ensure soundness, fertility, and longevity. We want to see them express their genetic potential in a gain, but realize the importance of having them in optimal breeding condition. These bulls are a careful balance of maternal genetics and incorporate added performance in order for you to get the most out of your calf crop. They are going to sire a ripping set of steers, but they will also make you a set of replacement heifers to build a herd on. Remember, the bulls you buy today will directly influence your cowherd for the next 10-15 years. Long term decisions like this have a major impact on your bottom line. We will have final weights, gains, and scrotal measurements available on sale day. As always we offer an unrivaled guarantee on these bulls. If you aren’t able to attend the sale, it will be available to watch on www.cattleusa.com. We can also handle your bid if you prefer. Once again this year we are offering to pay half of the premium on the insurance offered through Martin-Trudeau Insurance. We appreciate your interest in our program. If you have any questions or want to take a look at the bulls prior to the sale, just give us a call. We look forward to seeing you on sale day.

Reports on daughters have been outstanding, being noted with above average udder quality. We are excited to calve our first Enterprise heifers this spring. They are moderate, broody, and easy fleshing.

Rockmount continues to be a go to heifer bull in our program for his predictable calving ease, growth, and replacement heifer quality. He consistently sires our top bulls year after year. We love his daughters for their fertility and function; they raise some of the top calves and breed back well. Rockmount progeny stand on an excellent foot and have great dispositions. Rockmount and Charlo always make one of my favorite crosses and this bull is no exception; added length and a moderate frame make him an excellent choice for making females. We have retained a full brother to lot 25’s dam for our own use and are excited to transfer some embryos from his grand dam. This is a pedigree that never misses! Recommended for heifers. Registered. If you plan to sell your calves off the cow and retain females in your herd, then there is no doubt you need a Charlo herd sire. Siring calves that push down the scales with added thickness and cows that are deep sided and flesh super easy with nice udders and feet, Charlo makes a logical choice for those looking to lower their inputs without sacrificing weaning weight. Our Charlo cows are easy to handle and have excellent mothering instincts.
