Good vibes and good company

WELCOME TO THE

WILDCAT WAY

What does it mean to be

PART OF A CO

OMMUNITY? We define it a little differently. community [kuh-myoo-ni-tee]: not just a noun, but a state of mind 1. A diverse and inclusive group of people who believe in the power of education. 2. A pillar of the Wildcat Way. 3. A campus with no true borders, blending in perfect harmony with the surrounding city of Providence. 4. Students, faculty and staff working together to learn, grow, create and make an impact on the world around them.

“The community of JWU is truly like no other. Being in a small city with an overall small community of JWU kids (compared to other schools) brings so much comfort to know we are all connected and unified in one way or another. I love the city of Providence and JWU mainly because of how diverse it is. There are so many people from so many different backgrounds.” Stephanie Pezzullo ’24, Graphic Design

CLASSROOMS

where everybody knows your name Small class sizes make a big impact when it comes to your academic experience. You’ll be able to connect with your professors and classmates on a deeper level and build relationships that will help you grow academically, professionally and personally.

Average class size: 20 students

And sometimes, the “classroom” isn’t really a classroom at all. Your lessons will be in our hands-on learning labs, but they can also come in the form of working with local companies, teaming up with students from other majors on collaborative projects, or even traveling around the world to study abroad. That kind of experiential education is what we’re known for – and we’ve perfected it.

“JWU gives you all the tools needed to start your career way before you graduate. These opportunities have shaped my career in my industry and have given me a competitive advantage.” Victoria Cuttone ’23, double major in Finance and Sports, Entertainment, Event - Management

“To me, attending a business school is one thing, but attending a business school where the professors care about your future is another – and that’s what Johnson & Wales has.” Garrett Koch ’23, double major in Accounting and Finance

HOME SWEET HOME You’ll soon call Providence home, and we can’t wait for you to discover all that the Creative Capital has to offer. Our Downcity Campus is woven seamlessly into the heart of the city, and you’ll feel that connection to the greater community as you walk past the Providence Performing Arts Center, small businesses, and numerous cafés and restaurants on your way to class. Hop on the Wildcat Wheels shuttle for a quick ride to the Harborside Campus, which offers a different perspective of the city and our community in the form of a more private campus by the ocean. At either location, you’ll find friendly faces and a vibe that is uniquely JWU. You really can have the best of both worlds!

“There are a ton of benefits to living in the city. Being within walking distance to local restaurants, performance centers and the harbor creates a sense of accessibility that makes student life so fun!” Fiona Moore ’23, Equine Business Management

Bring your pets – just don’t let them eat your homework Several residence halls offer pet-friendly communities, so you can bring an approved pet to campus to live with you.

“My first year at JWU was one of the most formative years of my life. Between the opportunities and experiences that I had and the friends that I made, I feel that I grew so much as a person within just two semesters.”
