SET IN STONE… NATURAL STONE THAT IS

At John-Richard, we hold a deep respect for the beauty and strength represented in natural stones. Their organic textures, layered patterns, and inherent variations bring a sense of depth and individuality to each piece. Stone is a vital part of our design language, with our designers and artisans bringing exceptional skill, care, and attention to shaping the diverse range of stones featured in our collections.

Selenite is prized for its soft, moonlike glow and ethereal translucency. Color ranges from milky white to transparent, and although the stone is more fragile, our designers understand its inherent qualities, allowing us to use this beautiful material across all our product lines.

Amethyst and agate are both varieties of quartz, offering richness and strength in very different ways. Amethyst is known for its deep violet crystals, used as faceted accents or rough-hewn nuggets for a more natural look. Agate, on the other hand, presents in banded layers of color, typically sliced and polished to reveal its intricate natural patterns. Smaller agates can be used as decorative elements on lamps, accessories, and mirrors, whereas larger pieces can be laminated together to create stunning large surfaces such as tabletops or wall panels. Types of quartz are durable, but demand careful cutting and processing due to the hardness and density of the materials.

Alabaster brings a gentle, warm translucency that makes it ideal for lighting and decorative elements. Softer and more forgiving than marble, it can be easily shaped and polished, though it still requires a measured touch. Marble is a timeless material known for its huge variety of colors, elegant veining, and natural sense of movement. Its strength makes it versatile, while its patterning, unique to each piece, lends itself to beautiful sculpture as well as stunning surfaces for tabletops or paneling.

Working with natural stones requires a balance of technical skill and artistic vision. These materials leave no room for error, yet become something extraordinary in the right hands. At John-Richard, our talented craftspeople embrace the challenges each stone presents, transforming them into innovative designs that highlight their natural beauty and distinctive character.
