As there are various reasons that can create the error so the methods to troubleshoot QuickBooks error 179 are also different. They are as follow:
• You should update your Bank in QuickBooks. You have to go to the Online Centre in QuickBooks and then to the ‘Financial Institution’ section. Once you update the bank details, come back again and then you will be prompted to update QuickBooks. Click on the Update/Send option. You might need to enter your login credentials here and the error should be resolved. If not, then move on to the other method.

• You might need to repair the Windows Registry from the command prompt. Go to the command box and type “Regedit”. Now you have to select error 179 related key. Copy the key information and save it in a file and name it with the extension (.reg). Now try logging in again.
