Solution 1: Pause Hosting Multi-User Access

You can stop hosting multi-user access on each workstation in the network to fix this error. Go through the measures given below:

1. Verify that computers are not set to host the company file. Particularly check this if you are using QuickBooks in the network and the file is stored on a server.

2. Open QuickBooks on every computer. Now, click on the File tab.

3. Verify that QuickBooks displays the Host Multi-User Access option in the Utilities section.

4. If you see Stop Hosting Multi-User Access in the Utilities section, click on it and confirm Yes.

5. Suppose you see a Company File Must Be Closed option, then you can click on Yes. Follow the same measures on every workstation.

6. Access the company file one more time.
