In any software, there have always been some common errors that occur because of some settings and technical issues. Let us see what are they for the QuickBooks error code H505.

1. Connection blocked by the Windows firewall

Solution

1. Enable Multi-User Hosting on the Server only Turn Off the Multi-User Access option to host on your computer. These are the computers on your network that do not host your company files. Ensure that your server computer is the only hosting device. Make sure that only your server computer must be the host.

2. Launch QuickBooks on any computer where error H505 occurred.

3. Select File, then Utilities. Till then, do not open your company file.

4. You will get the Host Multi-User Access option, do not select it. Move on to the next workstation.

5. If you get Stop Hosting Multi-User Access option, click on it.

2. Use QuickBooks File Doctor

This is an effective tool to fix company file and network issues. Follow these steps carefully and get your error fixed immediately.

1. Download and install QuickBooks Tool Hub. Launch the installation wizard to install the application.

2. After installing the application, open the Start Menu and search for QuickBooks Tool Hub. Open it up.

3. Click the Company File Issues tab on the left-hand side.

4. Click the Run File QuickBooks Doctor button to start the utility.

5. Wait for it to finish and see if that resolves the problem. You can proceed with solution 3 if the above solution won’t work for your errortype resolution.

3. Check QuickBooks Services

1. To begin, start with the Run dialog box. For this, press the Windows key + R on your keyboard.

2. Type in services.msc in the Run dialog box, and hit Enter.

3. On the Services window, look for the QBCFMonitorService and QuickBooksDBXX services. You can type any two in the XX in the latter.

4. Now, double-click each service and opt for Automatic from the drop-down as the Startup type. Hit the Start button and check if the service is running.

5. Once done, now switch to the Recovery tab.

6. You can change the computer’s response to the service when it fails. If you wish, you can change the computer’s response to the service in case it fails.

7. For the First failure, Second failure, and Subsequent failures, proceed with the Restart the service option.

8. Finally, click Apply and then press OK.

9. Apply this for both services. At last, confirm if the issue is fixed or not.
