THE QUAINTON HERALD Issue 102 – 5th November 2021

HEADMASTER'S MESSAGE Dear Parents, Saal Mubarak! I hope that all those families who are celebrating Diwali had an enjoyable day on Thursday and Friday. I wish you all a Happy New Year. We were spoilt on Thursday morning when, as part of our Diwali celebrations, the Bollywood clubs danced for the school. It was most moving and reminded me of all that is good about the School that has been missing over these Covid years. It has been decided that the Parents of those children in the dance groups will be invited into school to watch the performance live. Our Chamber Choir had the honour of being invited to John Lyon on Thursday to attend a concert and choral masterclass and then to perform themselves in the Boyd Campbell Hall in front of an audience including members of the Royal College of Music. I must thank Mr H Jones, Director of Music, for firstly running the choir and secondly giving the children the chance to perform and benefit musically from such a fantastic event. Our competitive sport has kicked off again following the half term break. We had great success against St Christopher’s winning all our matches. The new netball court on the Astro is almost ready and I look forward to watching the girls play on this wonderful new surface. On Tuesday our Year 6 went on a History trip to Reveley Lodge. A hugely rewarding and educational time was had by all. I am sure they learnt a lot about the Victorians and how education has changed over the years! Thank you to Mme Mitchell for organising and running the trip.
