Why scrap metal recycling is necessary?
Almost all types of scrap metals can be easily recycled. However, certain metals don't have the necessary properties for getting recycled or decomposed easily. It would be best if you kept the difference between ferrous and non-ferrous metals in mind. Since ferrous metals are magnetic, it is easier to make them fall apart easily.

Copper: premium grade copper contains around 95% of the original metal. Hence the scraped metal wire that is made of metal can be easily recycled.
Aluminium: aluminium cans, for instance, is a source of scrap metal generally recycled in scrapyards. A single recycled aluminium can save a lot of power.
Brass: brass can be easily recycled, and there's very little energy used for the same. You'll commonly find brass in plumbing fixtures and car radiators as well.
Steel: steel is a major ferrous metal and generally the most common type of recycled metal.
