INTRODUCING PHOEBUS THEOLOGITES During his 18-year ‘sell-side’ career, Phoebus was a complex derivative and proprietary trader in prominent North American and European investment banks. From 1992 through 2001, he traded complex equity, interest-rate, foreign exchange, credit, and hybrid derivatives at Bankers Trust, Credit Suisse, Bear Stearns, and Gen Re Securities. From 2002 through 2009, he traded and structured complex equity and strategic derivatives at CDC-IXIS (now Natixis), Toronto-Dominion Securities, and ABN-AMRO/RBS (now NatWest). During this time, he served as global head variously of quantitative trading, structuring, execution, and trading risk, set up or restructured client and proprietary desks globally, and supervised trading-book pricing and risk management, as well as banking-book discretionary positioning and business risk mitigation. During his ensuing 9-year ‘buy-side’ career, Phoebus was an investment manager. From 2010 to 2015, he co-founded and was director and CIO of a Swiss multi-family office, a much-awarded Swiss fund management company (of whose enlarged successor entity he remains a manager), and a Cayman mutual fund (where he still serves as director). From 2015 through 2018, he was MD at UBS Asset Management, advising the C-Suite on risk exposures and investment performance drivers, and participating by invitation in strategic (M&A), finance (RWA/LRD), accounting, and regulatory projects at the Group-CEO level. Since 2019, Phoebus is a board director of a diversified international financial services and private markets group and legal advisor with VogelNägeli Rechtsanwälte in Switzerland. Phoebus holds a BA cum laude (Economics) from Harvard University, a MPhil (Finance) from University of Cambridge and a MSc (Economics) from London School of Economics.
