One Pieceis an animated series based on the Manga by Eichiro Oda, serialized in the Weekly ShounenJump. The Anime adaption is produced by Toei Animation and broadcasted by Fuji Television. The anime originally premiered on October 20, 1999, it has currently aired over 990 episodes along with 14 films and many more TV specials and has been exported to more than thirty countries worldwide. One Piece is the first manga to have over 100 volumes in circulation with over 1 million copies sold for each. It has also started a live-action produced by Netflix and is officially in production. The series has now been running for 22 years and the 1000th episode has been formally announced to air on November 21, 2021. 22 years ago, the man who attained everything the world had to offer, Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, the most infamous pirate to have ever sailed the Grand Line, was executed. Nevertheless, the last words he told before his death revealed the location of the greatest treasure, the One Piece, which was deemed to be of unimaginable value. His last words brought forth the Grand Age of Pirates, men from all around the world now aim for the Grand Line to find the One Piece and to gain the title of Pirate King. 12 years later, Monkey D. Luffy a determined young boy who upon accident ate a Devil Fruit which granted him the power to stretch his body like rubber in exchange for his ability to swim, declared that he wanted to become the King of Pirates to Shanks a pirate whom the boy had favored. Amazed by his bold words, Shanks gives him his precious straw hat telling Luffy to return it to him someday after becoming a pirate who would have surpassed him. 10 years later, Monkey D. Luffy starts his journey with his first goal of find crew mates who would travel together with him to becoming the Pirate King. Set in a fantasy world overshadowed by Pirates, comes a boy whose idea of being a Pirate is that of pure wonder. To him being free, and going on fun adventures and finding treasure was much more exciting than being the common shrewd, toothless, vicious man who ransacks villages for entertainment. After anchoring off to sea, his infamy soon grows as he proceeds on meeting new crew members forming the "Straw Hat Pirates", unveiling the secrets and horrors of their world. One Piece is so popular because of its astounding "World-Making", showing that every character in the plot has their own life moving on apart from the protagonists, making the plot very convincing to the watchers. Fans adore the series because the plot is so interesting it shows you an unimaginable world with Pirates, Marines, the World Government, the Void Century, Samurais, Devil fruits, The Will of D, Ninjas, Zombies, Sky islands, and much more. This Anime is unquestionably one that people of all ages can always enjoy as it has a bizarre way of captivating people's hearts.
