Bless the LORD O my Soul!

“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psa 103:1-5).

David was never ashamed or afraid to express his gratitude to the Lord openly. Many times he expressed his gratitude in songs, psalms and dance. On one occasion, he danced and leaped for joy before the Lord so much that his wife despised him, thinking he was undignified for praising God (2 Samuel 6:16). What a heart he had!!

No wonder he lived such a great life. The greatest and most successful people are grateful people. Your ability to express gratitude is your key to greatness. One of the ways to express your appreciation to the Lord is to testify of His goodness in your life. You must learn to express your gratitude to the Lord openly by testifying.

“My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth” (Psa 57:7-11).

“Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron: Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD. Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD” (Psa 135:19-21).

“Behold, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD. The LORD that made heaven and earth bless thee out of Zion” (Psa 134:1-3).
