“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation…”

Heb 2:3

Warning Against Neglecting Salvation “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will” (Heb 2:1-4)?

Salvation is the greatest gift ever given but like any great gift if it is never used it's useless. Its one thing to confess it but if you don't allow it to become a part of who you are then it's a waste of time. Before Jesus came God used the angels and prophets to proclaim his good news. Then Jesus took over from them being the living example to us. Now it's our responsibility to colabor with the holy spirit to proclaim the good news. If we choose not to take advantage of this great gift we have, then we only have ourselves to blame. God said he would use the rocks to cry out his truth but he would rather speak thru us as his newest living examples of what great love he has for all who will trust and believe.

“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober” (1Th 5:1-4).

"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. be sober” (Lk 21:34-26).
