A LIVING SACRIFICE

January 6, 2019

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Ro 12:1-2).

“Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased” (Heb 13:12-16).

“O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy. I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him” (Hos 14:1-4).

In the Law Jehovah commanded there would be a sacrifice for sin. The blood of bulls, goats, and lambs was offered to reconcile the children of Israel, for without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Under grace Jesus offered himself the sacrifice for all mankind removing our sin. He now calls us to be living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God. So we will render the calves of our lips. lifting our hands to praise and exalt the Lamb that was slain, our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ. Let the praises flow today and each day we have breath in our lungs, He is worthy!! Blessed be the name of the Lord!
