THE LORD

WITH GLADNESS

When it comes to following and serving the Lord, the right, the power and the privilege to decide has been left in our hands by God. We are not forced or bound like slaves to do anything we do not want to do; however, we are advised to do so for our own bene t and the bene t of others. We are called to be servants (someone who provides an important service or performs certain duties) and to do so wholeheartedly (with earnest devotion or complete commitment).

“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations (Psalm 100:1-5.)

“Blessed are the unde led in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways” (Psa 119:1-3).

Only God (through the Holy Spirit) can ll the void that people have in our lives. This emptiness is caused by a lack of ful lment that comes from not understanding their personal purpose (which I believe is a secret as we are all uniquely created to ful l speci c purposes). Today, people all over the world are searching for their purpose through selfhelp materials such as meditation, life coaches, etc. We as Christians nd this answer as we seek and pray to God, our maker, and we serve Him with gladness.

“Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the ood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the ood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Jos 24:14-15).
