Because of Adam’s sin great divide between God and man was created. I’ve always thought of Jesus as being the Repairer of the Breach. And this is true; He does indeed mend what has been broken. He applies the salve we need to endure and the comfort we desire from the battle. However, it is YOU and I that are called to be His hands and feet in the earth! As His followers, we are meant to be the ones that shore up the holes in the wall. We are to repair His House! “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in” (Isa 58:12).

“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.”This is a prophetic announcement for the last days. It is about getting back to what was originally given to Yahweh’s people, meaning His foundational pledge. It is about fixing what has been neglected for 2,000 years.

The prophet calls it a breach. A breach is a break or rupture. Something fundamentally important has undergone a serious and destructive separation.

To fix this critical problem there must be a return to original ways and teachings of the Word. The Scriptures don’t leave us clueless when it comes to the design of the Bible. We have been given a bridge between Old and New testaments that shows a dynamic bond between the two. What is the purpose of a bridge? Why do we build bridges? Because of gaps! There is land here and land there and a gap in between. That gap may be due to a mighty river or a huge canyon or a busy freeway.

Jesus willingly went to the cross for us that He might bridge the gap that was between us and the Heavenly Father because of our sin. He is the way that leads to reconciliation with God that no man could make. It took the sinless blood of Jesus to make the bridge that would lead us over the gulf of sin into the presence of God. He has reconciled sinful man with a holy God!
