“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid” (Psa 18:2-4).
“And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies” (2Sam 22:1-4).
So this was after two incidents–the first being an incident where Israel was being punished for Saul’s violence against the Gibeonites. This was after Saul had died and David became king, yet the Lord was still punishing Israel for Saul’s violence. So David gave justice to the
Gibeonites. The second incident was when Israel was at war with the Philistines again, and as you know from the story of David and Goliath, there were giants in the Philistine army. Only this time, it became harder for David to fight because he wasn’t as young as he used to be. So this was his last battle. And in the course of the battles, there were four incidents where his men fought giants and won. So David, as you can imagine, wrote this psalm in praise.
“And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted. Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee. ” (Isa 12:1-6).
“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” (Psa 34:1-4).
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; (Psa 91:1-5).

“When your back is against the wall, trust in The Lord, Who is over all, It is God, Who knows all things, when in a trial deliverance He brings, During those times, it’s understood, all things work out for our good, In that time when we’re concerned, we can trust in what we’ve learned.
Whenever we want to complain, we must seek God, simple and plain, Lifting our heart to God in prayer, to The Lord above, with every care, For God is the One to deliver us, and our only task is, to in Him trust, Knowing God does what He may, during our trial, He will make a way.
God’s omniscient, there’s no denial, so He knows all about every trial, We may see only a darkened wall, but, The Savior will never let us fall, For God has delivered many before, we in His plan, are just one more, Life, to show His power and purpose; in those who know Christ Jesus.
In The Lord, Who delivers men, we need to trust, not ask how or when, We’ll be delivered from all we face, resting in God’s Sustaining Grace, Knowing whatever The Lord may do, God will certainly see us through, In our Lord’s way and in His time, all in God’s purpose and His design.
The Lord does all for His pleasure, knowing you and I are His treasure, God will never deny those He bought, as God’s perfect will is wrought, In all those who belong to Jesus Christ, as God works through our life, In order to bring others to His Son, as God desires to deliver everyone”.

When My Savior Rescued Me
by Norma BeairdOn troubled seas, my life was dying, And in my heart, my soul was crying, Deliver me, dear Lord, from this cruel world of sin. But in the lifeboat of salvation, I felt the calmness of the water, And now with Jesus as my Captain, I’ll sail on through the rain and wind. Now when the storms of life are tossing, And you feel that you are drowning, Please don’t despair, for He’s the Master of the sea. And when the winds of hell surround you, And your sails are tearing faster, Grab the lifeline of the One Who died for me. For when the waves had crashed against me, And all I felt was constant pain, He was the Anchor when the storms came, And my shelter in the rain. Although it’s clear that I’m not perfect, For anyone can clearly see, The arms of God were stretched wide open, When my Savior rescued me.
