I Will Create New Heavens and New Earth

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them” (Isa 65:17-23).

“For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD. For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon

horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD. And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD. For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD” (Isa 66:15-23).

Do we believe that our world could come to be a place where evil no longer exists, a place where pain and suffering could no longer be found? That is a big pill to swallow. I think most of us would on our best days be willing to say that the earth could become a better place, a bit more just, somewhat more peaceful. But a perfect place? That may be a bridge too far. Yet our scriptures and our faith insist that a perfect world is exactly what God has in mind, that God intends to make this world free from pain, evil, and death. Jesus’ resurrection is the sign of God’s intention, because if one person could conquer death, then it is possible that death could be conquered for us all. This then is our faith, a new heaven and a new earth, the belief that through God’s power and our efforts our world can be transformed, can be made perfect.

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness” (2Pet 3:10-13).

The danger we face during seasons of trial is blaming God for our pain and misfortune, complaining repeatedly, and becoming so shortsighted that we miss the big picture of His sovereignty. In these moments, we must remember the promises which Scripture declares.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior" (Isaiah 43:2-3).

“One day you are the windshield. One day you are the fly. One day you get torn up. One day you heal up. One day you watch your life come together. One day you watch your life fall apart. One day you cannot stop smiling. One day you cannot stop weeping. One day you cannot stop dancing. One day you cannot stop grieving. One day your house gets built. One day your house gets bulldozed. One day your loved one walks toward you. One day your loved one walks away from you. One day you have hope and pursue your dreams. One day you lose hope and accept your nightmare. One day you bring a new thing home. One day you throw it in the garbage. One day you need to open your mouth. One day you need to shut your mouth. One day you love your life. One day you hate your life. One day life feels like a vacation. One day life feels like a war.

What kind of person do you want to be? Are you surrounding yourself with the friendships that could help you become that person? One of the best investments you can make is in friendships that encourage you to be more like Jesus.

All through the day, you need to remind yourself, "I am amazing. I am a masterpiece. I have been wonderfully made." Don't discount what God has created. Don't go around feeling ordinary when in fact, you're extraordinary. People may try to make you feel average. Are you going to believe what people say about you, or believe what God says about you? If you're going to recognize your value, you have to see yourself as amazing, as wonderful. It's not because of who you are, but because of who made you. You have the fingerprints of God all over you.

Remember that God sees everything from the perspective of eternity. He is not worried and already has declared the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:9-11). We can trust Him. When we seek Him, we should remember that He will answer our prayers based on what is best for us. Place your life in His hands. Let Him take away all doubt, fear, and worry. God has everything under control-today, tomorrow, and throughout eternity.

We all have people who come against us & make negative comments about us. We spend too much time worrying about what they think, trying to defend ourselves & prove to people who we are. Why don't you put your reputation in God's hands? He said He will defend you, & He will vindicate you far better than you can vindicate yourself. You don't have to retaliate, get even, prove that your a nice person, or convince them to change their mind. God can do it better than you.

When you truly Love Jesus and spend time in Prayer and the Word, the way you Love people changes. You'll become patient and compassionate towards them and you'll start seeing them through the eyes of God. Only then, it is possible to Love a person unconditionally.
