Engineering at Vanderbilt University, attended business school at the University of Alabama, and worked with ACIPCO. When the time came to build his home, he purchased acreage in Clay. He did most of the work himself, paying out less than $500 in labor expenses. After working on several jobs for his coworkers at ACIPCO, the work began to snowball. By the early ‘60s, he had worked on everything from houses to businesses to schools and churches. He then landed the contract for the Vestavia Hills High School.
