CLASSES & WORKSHOPS A definitive guide to all of the classes and workshops taking place under our roof, which aren’t run by Newcourt Community Centre. A list of the days classes are held, plus their start and finish times.

To book a class you will need to contact individual tutors, see listings for details on how to book.

You can also find information on the ages and ability of the classes. Along with any equipment you may need to bring or advise on what is best to wear for class. For any further details please do contact the tutors directly.

For visitors to the centre you can find directions on google maps. We ask that you please use the car park to the rear of the building. Disabled parking is by the front door. Other spaces nearby are residential and we ask that you respect that. The nearest Bus Stop is right outside the Centre on Omaha Drive. And the Newcourt Rail Station is 500 yards from the front door.

MONDAYS ECI Drop in Play Session (0-5) Staffed by Sure Start Ongoing (term-time) 10.00 - 11.30 FREE For children ages 0 - 5. Just turn up and pop in for a fun play group with toys, creative activities, and singing.

Exeter Community Initiatives is the only local charity to run Children’s Centres in Exeter. We run three Children’s Centres here: Flying Start, Chestnut and Countess Wear. Our Children’s Centres support parents with under-five year olds to have the best start in life. They deliver group activities, support other community groups and provide intensive one to one support to families.

About the teacher : Hi! My name is Nicola. I am a mum to Ella who is 1. I am also a Primary School Teacher. I have always loved dancing and I discovered a love of baby wearing when Ella was born.

I was looking to attend a class where I could dance while carrying Ella when I came across the opportunity to run a Sling Swing franchise class of my own. It is so much fun and Ella loves it! It is so nice to have a great time, get fit and bond with my baby all at once.

I am really enjoying meeting mums and their babies – Some who have never worn their babies before. All those who come along have a great time.

I have completed the Peer Support Course at the School of Babywearing.

Pjama Drama - Rainbows Class (preschool childen) with Nicola Miller 1.45 - 2.30 £? per class About the teacher : My name is Victoria and I run Pyjama Drama for Exeter, Crediton, Exmouth and Dawlish. As a teenager I adored drama and music; taking part in school musicals, playing in the orchestra, singing in the choir and taking A level Drama. It was something I enjoyed so much, I chose to complete a Drama degree at Aberystwyth. After a number of years working with young people in residential, careers and project work settings, and then raising my family, I am now delighted to be using my drama background again. My introduction to Pyjama Drama has been through my own daughter, watching the journey of her imagination coming alive (both in Pyjama Drama sessions and at home), along with confidence building, being able to adapt to different situations, developing social skills and having lots of fun. I look forward to creating these experiences for other children and seeing where our magical adventures take us!
