We fell in love and decided to tie the knot. We wanted a wedding that was totally unique to us; that was exclusively ours; where we could relax in an amazing setting. Every time we talked about our wedding our thoughts always came back to Upton. It is our family home and holds a very special place in our hearts. We looked lovingly at the old cider barn and overgrown walled garden and knew they were crying out to be given a second chance. If we were going to do this at Upton we were going to do it for us and for others to share... Upton Barn and Walled Garden wedding venue was born! We cherished every minute of our wedding at Upton, we were so lucky to be able to create our day, our way, we now want you to be able to do this too!

Exc lu sive Venue Upton Barn & Walled Garden is an award winning exclusive use wedding venue nestled amidst the beautiful Devon countryside.
Providing not one but three unique spaces all under one roof, allowing your wedding party to flow seamlessly from one to the other, and licensed for indoor and outdoor civil ceremonies giving you the freedom to design your wedding day to suit you. The lovingly restored Cider Barn is a blend of traditional and contemporary architecture with exposed roof trusses, polished concrete floor and a full height, glazed gable end which bathes the venue in natural light bringing the outside in. This stunning feature provides breath-taking views over the walled garden and Blackdown Hills and an idyllic spot for indoor wedding ceremonies. The Press is a chic and stylish bar which complements the Cider Barn and flows beautifully into the walled garden. It is a laid back, social space where your guests can relax with old and new friends on the built in, modular soft seating or mingle over drinks and canapĂŠs in front of the wood burning stove. As you step into The Stable Barn you find yet another warm and inviting venue. Architecturally inspired with elegant lighting, warm timber interiors, well-stocked bar and captivating views across the paddocks; perfect for your wedding breakfast.

Looking out over the Blackdown Hills, The Walled Garden at Upton was the original Victorian kitchen garden that was built with the farmhouse. Now lovingly restored to its former glory, this beautifully manicured garden is peaceful and tranquil and is the perfect setting for your special day. As you enter through a small wooden gateway into the secret Walled Garden you descend down the gently sloping lavender and bay tree lined path to the hand-crafted oak arbour, which is registered for civil ceremonies. The garden borders are abundant with beautifully fragrant flowers. Low stone benches and wrought iron furniture on the large patio provide a sociable space for your guests to gather for drinks and canapĂŠs. Whilst your guests relax, your photographer can be inspired by any number of stunning backdrops for your wedding photographs. The formal lawns to the front of the property offer sweeping views over the lake, fountain and surrounding countryside. As evening falls, the gardens are lit with romantic lighting and fire pits which crackle under the stars to create a truly magical setting.

At Upton Barn & Walled Garden we work with a hand picked selection of the finest local independent caterers who use only top quality, local produce and specialise in creative bespoke cuisine to suit you, your style and budget. These talented caterers have been selected due to the exceptional service they provide and their ability to work closely with you throughout your planning process in order to create inspired menu choices that will excite you and your guests! The Press Bar at Upton is open to you and your guests prior to your ceremony and continues throughout your day offering a wide range of reasonably priced drinks to suit all tastes. We also offer a creative and innovative drinks list to design your own bespoke wedding drinks.
