BOAVISTA DREAM BY ISABEL SANTOS From a challenge thrown by a mother that was well received by her

daughters,

this

creative

apartment in Boavista was only designed by the mother itself that surprised all the family by the amazing final result. Isabel decided to shake off the dust of the old and infuse the house’s iconic structure with a dose

of

contemporary

vigor. Minimalism and creativity align with good taste in color shapes and above all the best pieces of art. Isabel Santos, it's the owner of the Interior

Design

Company

Empatias, and with almost 30 years working with interior design Isabel needed a challenge in her life, and that's when she had the idea, to take upon herself the challenge of decoration her own home, without her own family getting involved in the end result.

LIVING ROOM Boavista Secret This living room is a modern masterpiece!

Especially in the art that complements the white walls, Carlos Santos, Armanda Passos,

With the most contemporary brands, Isabel

Julio Pomar e Jorge Molder,

They decorate the walls and create stories,

and decor elements that she inherited from her

moments that complement all the classic and

One of the main issues with this

living

room

was

the

massive area that had to be filled

without

being

so

Isabel created different areas with different purpose but that were

As for decor accessories the choices were Baccarat and Lalique. Here, Isabel chose more neutral pieces: Pieces that go unnoticed at first glimpse, which runs away directly to the strong colors on the walls. The decoration details capture the attention at the second glance and create for everyone who visits the house a feeling that in every corner at every sight there is a new detail that you want to discover

MASTER BEDROOM Boavista Secret The bedrooms were the only areas where Isabel received some kind of input of the personal taste of each member of her family, and here with the fusion with the great taste of Isabel and the personal experiences and inspiration of each person, it's where the magic occurs. The first big challenge was the small size of Isabel's bedroom in addition to her and her husband's distinct personalities. So to create the illusion of a bigger space, the main wall of the room it's cover with mirrors supplemented with light tones and just some pops of color especially in the art of the room such as the painting of Armanda Paços. To respect the individuality and personality of each one, Isabel smartly created two different bedside areas to each one, where the husband has a more modern and practical inspiration with a bedside table from BB Italia and a table lamp from Santa & Cole named Diana, design by Federico Correa, Alfonso Milá, Miguel Milá. This lamp effortlessly combines a classic air with a modern design, the perfect piece to unite the distinct styles of the bedroom. On Isabel Side, her passion for heritage and history was well represented by the Luis XV table and lamp.

DAUGHTERS BEDROOM Boavista Secret InĂŞs Castro the older daughter, is probably the old soul of the family, with the most sophisticated taste. The inspiration for this room was the American classic style such as Ralph Lauren. The wallpaper in shades of green with feminine details complements the

vintage couch dusty green. The Vitra chair Eames Plastic Side Chair DSW mix plastic and wood that lends to the classic bedroom design a certain warmth and casual appeal.

Isabel Castro the young daughter is the rebel and more creative soul. Bright colors and crazy furniture, express to the distinct detail her personality. In this bedroom, all the furniture all the details catch your eye attention, rejoice the soul, and make your curiosity simmer. The desk and the chair are the perfect duos! The Heart Cone Chair design by Verner Panton in the late 1950s, takes its name from the expressive, heart-shaped silhouette

of

its

seat

shell,

this

distinguished chair found its match with orange Baobab Desk by Philippe Starck,

however, this provocative pieces, are not strong enough to steal the attention from the Wiggle Side Chair design by Frank Gehry's in 1972, another classic in this room, an original and innovative chair, created by material such as cardboard. All the pieces are from Vitra.

KITCHEN Boavista Secret Unabashedly white and with just enough pops of green, it brings to mind a modernized vegetables bake. But upon closer inspection, some of its sharpest details come into clearer view: such as the white marble on the floor that merges with the contrast of light wood, bringing memories of nature and the trees that surround the property. The main star of this kitchen is the Artemide celing lamp Skydro Ceiling design by Ross Lovegrove, this lamp is a series of pebbles forms a bright sky reflecting the light that bounces on its biomorphic surfaces. With this lamp a simple white kitchen became a place where every blink of an eye increases the curiosity to discover even more.

OUTDOOR Boavista Secret From its roots as a child in OPorto City, and in the north of Portugal. Isabel has a deep connection with the river, the sea, and nature. for this reason, the inspiration by the sea, water, and nature could not be missing! and even in a small outdoor space, Isabel Santos created a small oasis on her balcony. The choice from this space was Crinoline Outdoor chairs by BB Italia, these chairs are designed to reflect the elegant look of the dresses that women wore in the 1800s and the bellshaped skirts held by crinolines. These aren't simple outdoor chairs, they carry feminine inspiration, aesthetics combined with technology, and above all the most stunning of the women's fashion history.

BATHROOM Boavista Secret When we believe that it is not possible for a bathroom to be designed with creativity, Isabel

Santos

proves

once

again

her

attention and eye to detail. Isabel choose a wooden shower, that it's really far away from the typical shower. But still we have the main focusin the bathroom to be the sculpture of Paulo Neves. Proving that even Bathroons can inspire and be your favourite place.
