Sacred Heart Preschool

Sometimes “thank you” is simply not enough. The outpouring of love and support as those of us in Early Childhood weathered yet another year of uncertainty and challenges is what got us through last year. Just as we can depend on the sun to rise each morning, we can depend on preschool teachers to find the beauty in the messes and make a masterpiece. We are grateful for your continued support for what we do in educating our most precious gifts, our youngest learners. Without you as part of our SHP family, we would not be able to offer the early learning education we do. The most exciting highlight of 2022 was being voted the Voice’s Best Preschool “Bestie” award. What an honor! The faculty and staff at SHP are dedicated to creating the most innovative spaces through research-based practices. Their hard work and commitment to their students indeed showed with this distinction.

The foundation of a Sacred Heart Preschool education is rooted in our core values of Community, Leadership, Reverence, and Service. In the spirit of both Leadership and Community, several SHP teachers partnered with two local outreach organizations to create a pilot Community of Practice that brought educators from around the region together over several months to explore more deeply a play-based and nature-focused education. As panel presenters, these SHP teachers strengthened the network of Early Childhood Educators in Kentucky. We are so proud of them! As part of our school goals, SHP is working towards becoming a professional development host site, bringing educators together to study, explore and practice as a community of learners. With an anticipated nature playspace renovation on the horizon, SHP is positioned to be a model of early learning excellence and a training site for new and experienced teachers alike. The first years of a child’s life are the most critical, and we do not take this responsibility lightly. With an exclusively tailored professional development plan and a team of developmental interventionists, we ensure that we meet each child where they are and support them as they grow and develop through their unique learning journey. Without the support of our SHS community, we would not have been able to unveil a new Sensory-Motor Lab at Salesia Hall, nor would we see our students enjoying the new Atelier (studio) space. SHP continues to move forward with innovation. It is a blessing to be part of this beautiful, faith-filled campus and our privilege to walk alongside our students and families as they begin their educational journeys.
