RUNNING. HE HAS HELPED EXPAND OUR SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAMMING BY COLLABORATING WITH VARIOUS EVENTS FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES. ADDITIONALLY, DANIEL IS WORKING TO GROW OUR TEEN PROGRAMMING THROUGH OUR BRiCk TEEN HYPE LEADERSHIP BOARD. GREAT JOB DANIEL, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

JEFF SCOTT PARKS SUPERVISOR JEFF SCOTT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND THIS MONTH. THIS PICTURE IS HIM DOING JUST THAT, HE'S IN A 7" DEEP HOLE OUT AT THE BRICK TRYING TO FIND AND REPAIR A WATER LEAK.

HUNTER WEST CSA OF THE MONTH HUNTER WEST DOES A GREAT JOB GIVING 100% IN EVERYTHING THAT IS ASKED OF HIM. HE HAS BEEN WITH THE BURLESON RECREATION CENTER ONLY A FEW MONTHS BUT HAS THRIVED IN EVERY AREA. HE HAS HELPED WITH A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS AND TASKS AND COMPLETES EACH ONE WITH A POSITIVE AND ENERGETIC ATTITUDE.

FALL VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIIONS Team Mission Unlockable has taken home the Championship Trophy for the past two season. The team includes a father/son duo along with friends and spouses. Team Mission Unlockable hopes to continue their Championship Drive throughout the Winter Season here at the Burleson Recreation Center.

HOMESCHOOL P.E. Instructors Derrick Rose and Arik Hughes. The Homeschool PE program is designed for kids to have fun interacting with new friends while learning about physical education and how to play group games and sports.

BALLET FRONTIER Ballet Frontier of Texas entertained us with a special performance of The Nutcracker at the BRiCk on November 10th. STORYTIME Where In Burleson is Miss Becky? visited Russell Farm on November 18th and everyone enjoyed a very special Story Time in the hay barn.

We offered a class on Google Docs for the first time ever. This was a high demand class with 16 in attendance from numerous departments. The instructor based the syllabus on what each student needed, and students were able to learn on their own devices. We are excited to offer this class again in the Spring!

11 PARKS & CAPITAL PROJECTS PARKS HIGHLIGHT Park members resurrected the Christmas tree with help from the boom lift, after finishing the tree park staff drove man lift to Warren park and trimmed the limbs on east side of park.

In the month of November the Athletic Department hosted four tournaments. One was the Harvest House tournament which they collected 2400lbs. of food , 231 toys and donated 10,318.00. Athletic department also finished fall rec ball and Hidden Creek Softball.

On Veteran’s Day, November 11th, we hosted a Veterans Tribute at Veteran’s Memorial Plaza. We honored a 96 year old highly decorated veteran who served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Representative Roger Williams was a featured speaker. There were over 250 present at the event. We received 6 new brick orders that day. A new monument was installed prior to the event in the center of the Plaza: a bronze Soldier’s Cross.

ADDITIONAL PARKS HIGHLIGHTS Here are additional pictures of the Parks staff working hard putting up the Christmas Tree for the Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting event. Parks dept. cleaned up and mowed our newly acquired ten acres on C.R. 1021. During the month of November park employees work Veterans Tribute, set up Christmas tree and the gym for Santa’s breakfast for a total of 356 hours. Park employees picked up and hauled off old concrete after repairs were made at Oak Valley Trail, they also used a box blade to level soil where heavy machinery was used. During the month of November park staff installed brick at Veterans Plaza, worked on water feature and had eleven new lights installed, planted flowers and mulched both beds at the Vets Park. Treated for fire ants at all parks and facilities buildings. Park members are sill mowing, we set up and removed barricades and signs to close Oak Valley walking trail during the demolition and replacement of the concrete panels. Park staff had to remove tree on 174 that was hit by a vehicle, and fixed meter break on Stone Rd. Park members repaired leaking toilet at Warren park, fix restroom door at Bailey Lake, graded and leveled dirt at the Brick and Soccer fields around the new light poles. We had to rewire and reattach emergency release button for restroom door locks at Meadow Crest Park. Scott Hartis played a crucial role assisting the water department in the repair of a major water break at the Brick. Athletic staff treated for fire ants multiple times, sprayed for weeds, laid sod on the softball fields and removed 10 trees from Summercrest and replanted at Chisenhall fields. Athletic Department replaced 25 trash barrels, installed 30 jumbo toilet paper dispensers to be more efficient in labor cost.

MOM2MOM PINTEREST PROJECTS Instructor for this program is Mallory Buettemeyer. The purpose of this program is to allow moms to come together and get creative. This was a fun night for moms to get together, relax, enjoy each others company, and get crafty.

2017 MILITARY VETERANS TRIBUTE The 2017 Veterans Day Memorial Service paid great respects to those who have served this country. Many Burleson residents came out to the Burleson Veterans Memorial Plaza in honor of our Military Veterans. Many Veterans, Service Men and Women, and families attended.Â
