MEET OUR STAFF
JOCELYN JOHNSON CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTENDANT Jocelyn does a great job working the Admin desk, and helping around the facility anytime we ask her to. Jocelyn is always willing to cover shifts at the last minute! Way to go Jocelyn!
BRIANNA HOLLAND LEAD LIFEGUARD Brianna is a Lead Lifeguard at the BRiCk and has also worked as camp counselor. She recently obtained her Lifeguard Instructor Certification and is looking forward to helping out with the Lifeguard Certification Classes this Spring. Brianna is one who often leads by example and takes initiative when she sees something that needs to be done.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
VALENTINE'S DANCE A wonderful evening full of dancing, games, face painting, music, dinner, and memories that last forever. The dance was held on Saturday, February 10th and had 400 participants on the day of. Everyone had an amazing time at this event. The BRiCk Team and volunteers put in an extraordinary amount of work and care into the Valentines Father daughter & Mother/Son Dance.
TINY TIKES The Tiny Tikes program is currently under way with 10 of Burleson’s future all-star athletes. Tiny Tykes is a youth soccer program that focuses on key child developmental areas through the medium of soccer. The goal is to improve each child’s motor skills, while advancing their physical, psychological, and social development environment.

LANCE TAHMAHKERA On February 7th, Lance Tahmahkera, great-great grandson of Chief Quanah Parker came and shared stories of Comanche traditions. He brought along some amazing artifacts for everyone to see. It was standing room only in the library’s meeting room!
HARRY POTTER BOOK NIGHT The library hosted Harry Potter Book Night for the second year in a row and had 100 people in attendance. We had a costume contest, scavenger hunt, crafts, a real owl, potions class (where they played with slime), Wizard’s chess, snacks and refreshments.

SENIOR CENTER PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT The Senior Valentine dance was a great success. They danced away to the stylings of 92nd Roadhouse Band along with getting their valentine pictures made to share with family and friends.

Preserving and Archiving The History of Burleson, Texas Veterans Veterans Memorial Plaza can accommodate 3,024 veteran bricks. There are currently 1689 bricks installed. The veteran's bricks are engraved with the name, branch of service, and conflict in which local veterans served. We currently have 171 veteran interviews on file. The interviews are available to view on DVD in the Library, they are uploaded to the Operation Remember You Tube channel, short video segments may be viewed on the Veteran’s Kiosk at http://kiosk.burlesontx.com/BurlesonKioskAppR3/ and we also submit a DVD of every interview to the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project. We continue to encourage veterans to share their stories and experiences while serving.

VALENTINE'S DANCE Additional pictures from the Valentine's Dance.
HIGH SCHOOL BAND LOCK-IN On February 17th The BRiCk hosted our first ever Lock-In! The event went from 8:00pm February 17th to 8:00am February 18th. We had 100 Burleson High School Band members join us. The night was full of activities that kept the kids up all night. If you were looking for sleep, you came to the wrong place. Some of the activities included, swimming, basketball, volleyball, rock climbing, and video games. They had a lot of fun and so did the staff!
SCHOOL BREAK FUN CAMP Campers participated in fun and exciting activities, crafts, and team building games.
COED VOLLEYBALL Our Winer Volleyball league comes to an end soon, Volleyball Championship round will be held Tuesday March 13th.

TEEN H.Y.P.E. The Teen HYPE group met this month and are gearing up for Relay for Life fundraising events.
KINDNESS CLUB Kindness Club is an opportunity for kids to share kindness in their community. This month, families painted rocks so that they could share kindness through the Burleson Rocks kindness project.
LEARN TO CROCHET Our Saturday morning crochet class is such a popular event that we decided to start having it every Saturday, starting in March.
