MEET OUR STAFF
TYLER ROBINSON CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTENDANT TYLER IS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP THROUGHOUT THE FACILITY, HAS A POSITIVE ATTITUDE, AND GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR MEMBERS AND GUESTS. HE HELPS WITH MINI CAMPS, SPORTIES 4 SHORTIES, AND SPECIAL EVENTS AS WELL.
CHELSEY CULP LIBRARY PROGRAM SPECIALIST CHELSEY RECENTLY GRADUATED WITH HER MASTER’S DEGREE IN LIBRARY SCIENCE AND WAS PROMOTED TO LIBRARY PROGRAM SPECIALIST. SHE IS A HARD WORKER, TEAM PLAYER, AND ESPECIALLY HELPFUL WITH PATRONS. WE APPRECIATE ALL THE WORK SHE DOES TO MAKE SURE OUR TEEN PATRONS HAVE FUN PROGRAMMING.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
HOLIDAY FRIENDS On December 16th, the BRiCk and Harvest House partnered to offer a program for families that needed support during the Holiday season. We provided activities for the kids giving the parents an opportunity to acquire toys. The event assisted 150-200 families. The TEEN H.Y.P.E group developed a variety of fun holiday activities for the event.
FLAG FOOTBALL In December the BRiCk hosted an 8 on 8 Flag Football League at Chisenhall Fields. The league consisted of six teams, allotting four spaces for the playoffs, which will take place on January 11. The winning team will be awarded champion shirts, as well as a trophy.

LIBRARY PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
CHRISTMAS AT THE LIBRARY We had 221 people attend Christmas at the Library on Dec. 2nd. Families decorated cookies, made Christmas decorations from recycled materials and did a “book walk” together in the children’s area.
POLAR EXPRESS PAJAMA PARTY Due to increased demand, we had to move the Dec. 19th Polar Express Pajama Party to the BRiCk! We had 300 people fill up half of the gym to watch the movie, enjoy cookies and cocoa, and see real live reindeer on a rainy and cold Tuesday evening. Families also donated more than 40 items of warm clothing for Harvest House.

The Athletic Department helped Parks dismantle the back drop for Santa’s breakfast and haul it back to storage. They also spent two weeks cutting brush, limbs, trees on the East side of Bailey Lake. They made countless trips hauling brush to the mulch site.
The Athletic Department also installed surveillance camera’s and air curtains over every entry way going into the concession stands and winterized restrooms and drinking fountains. In the month of December we hosted two baseball/softball tournaments.

Preserving and Archiving The History of Burleson, Texas Veterans Our most recent improvement coming to Veteran’s Memorial Plaza, is the addition of a bronze plaque, engraved to honor all veterans from WWI to present. One of our community leaders, Texas Health Huguley graciously donated a portion of the cost for creating this beautiful work of art and tribute to American Veterans. The plaque will be installed soon and will be followed with a dedication ceremony.
ADDITIONAL PHOTOS FROM HOLIDAY FRIENDS AT THE BRICK The Teen H.Y.P.E. group did a fantastic job organizing games and activities for the kids that attended the Holiday Friends event at the BRiCk. These activities ranged from making reindeer food, writing Santa a letter, basketball, and snowman bean bag toss. While the kids had a blast playing games and doing the activities, the parents were able to “shop” for toys that were donated from companies, families, etc. Each family was able to take home two presents for each child.

APPENDIX: BRICK HIGHLIGHTS
SANTA'S BREAKFAST Santa's Breakfast was a big success. Families came out to enjoy a pancake breakfast, music from the high school bands and choirs, face painting, hot cocoa, crafts, games, a Christmas story, and of course a visit with Santa.

APPENDIX: PARKS HIGHLIGHTS
PARKS DEPARTMENT To the left are additional pictures of the Bailey Lake clean up along with the new picnic tables installed at the Library. Below are some additional highlights from the Parks Department: Park staff winterized all restrooms and drinking fountains for the big freeze. Playground inspection was completed. Park employees worked Santa’s breakfast in the morning and worked the Parade and Christmas tree lighting in the evening. The following Monday the Parks Department spent three days taking everything out of the gym from Santa’s breakfast.
