When large volumes of fats, oils or grease (FOG) are dumped down the drain, they solidify and accumulate, resulting in narrowing of the plumbing and sewer pipes. Eventually the inside of the pipe can become completely clogged, causing sewage to back up into homes and businesses, or onto the streets and into storm drains that lead to the creeks, rivers and lakes we all enjoy. Such spills are unhealthy, harm the environment, and can be expensive to clean up. In the case of food service establishments such as restaurants, they can also lead to fines and business closures. Let your oil cool and empty it into a sealed container and throw it in your regular trash. The City of Burleson also offers “Fat Trap Bags” for residents at City Hall and the Service Center. For more information go to https://www.tceq.texas.gov/assistance/water/wastewater/fog/home_fog.html or call Environmental Services at 817-426-9842.

SIGMA GENERAL INFORMATION

NEW SUMMER SWIM LESSONS!! Sigma SWIM SCHOOL has 10 well-defined levels that are represented by “graduation awards” to the next level in the system. This system allows us to reward the child’s efforts at every phase of their swimming progression and build their confidence and desire to progress. We are committed to teaching the proper stroke mechanics from level one swim school, into our pre-competitive groups, and on to our competitive swim team. Our program coordinators will “graduate” your student at any time during the session as spot testing determines that they are ready for the next level.
