In honor of our 95 years as an organization, we’re asking ALL levels of membership to donate 95 minutes of their time. We have set up six volunteer opportunities, over a 95 hour span, that each member can participate in.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS October 1-4: 95 for 95 • Various Locations/Times (please check the member website for details) October 13: GMM • Social 6 p.m.; Meeting 6:30 p.m. • JLS Office October 20: Board Meeting • Social 5:30 p.m.; Meeting 6 p.m. • JLS Office October 26: JLS Book Club • Book: “Me Before You”, by Jojo Moyes • Time: 6 p.m. • Location: Potluck, Jessica Murray’s House NOVEMBER GMM: Cancelled
95 for 95 is a membership project, designed to increase JLS visibility in the community, recruit new members, and increase member participation and excitement about the year ahead, all while bettering the local community! Beginning on Thursday October 1st, through Sunday October 4th, the following projects are planned: Thursday 10/1/15: 5:30 p.m. -- Dorothy Day House. Dinner and game night for residents. Donation needs - yoga pants in all sizes. Friday 10/2/15: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. -Rescue Mission. Serving a meal. Saturday 10/3/15: 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. -Westside Family Resource Center. Halloween Kids Crafts and Snacks. Member’s kids welcome (ages 5+). Saturday 10/3/15: 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. -- Chadwick Residence. Tour, healthy meal preparation with residents. Crafts with resident children. Sunday 10/4/15: 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. -- Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. Kids Crafts. Sunday 10/4/15: 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. -- Men’s Shelter. Tour, serve a hot meal. Donation needs - mens socks. Each member is encouraged to sign up for one of the outlined projects as their 95 minute donation. Members can sign up by using the JLS website. Once you have signed up, you will be contacted via email with more details.
