K i n g C a k e C l a s s i c 5K / 10K / FUN RUN Sarah-Beth Bump

The 6th annual King Cake Classic 5K/10K/Fun Run was held on February 26, 2022 at Great Raft Brewing with over 200 runners participating, with the help of many sponsors and volunteers. We are happy to have been a part of the 2022 Mardi Gras season in the Shreveport-Bossier area, and in our first year back as an in-person event, we featured a new route through the Highland neighborhood. Events such as these are aimed to encourage better health and lifestyles throughout our community.

Our early morning began with the 5K, 10K, and Fun Run stretch provided by Pure Barre. The gun sounded off at 7:45 a.m. As runners maneuvered throughout the race course, there were Junior League volunteers cheering them on. Once crossing the finish line, the runners were presented with a special designed Mardi Gras medallion with the King Cake Classic logo, along with a slice of king cake provided by Lowder Baking Company. While enjoying their tasty Louisiana treat, runners were able to purchase beer from our host, Great Raft Brewing. Also available for purchase were breakfast burritos provided by Body by Biscuit. Music was provided by a local musician, Tim Powell, to entertain guests and runners as they finished the race.
