Hi! I'm Julia
1.
and here's little about me a bit of a background
...
and where I'm right now
My name is Julia and I'm a designer and architect from Poland. I was always very curious and had massive urge to learn and so, my experience comes from various fields. I graduated from Architecture and during those studies my views on how human created environment affects us went from macro to micro scale. I got fascinated about anthropology, how we create or chose our space and objects around us. Therefore, I decided to continue my academic path on Product Design Masters degree, where I've broaden my knowledge about visual communication, product, fashion and furniture design. Along my academic path I experienced Erasmus+ exchange twice, in very different countries and universities - Genova and Vienna. Italy is my second home now. Die Angewandte gave me an amazing university experience where I've tried many different techniques and did experimental designs. And, above all, I made friendships for life! Now I'm working full time as a fashion designers' assistant in one of LPP brands Reserved. There, I'm participating in product development process as well as in creative tasks like making new designs for light woven garments in ladies department. In the meantime, I'm working on my diploma that will finish the course of my studies in June 2024. Design, fashion, trend research, creation of a space, used materials, nature and asking questions is what makes a spark in my mind and gives me creative drive.

ASSISTANCE FURNITURE ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS, INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
furniture that offers you assistance MAIN IDEA: The problem addressed in the project is the deteriorating body posture. Gradual contraction of the muscles of the chest and shoulder girdle is caused by the modern sedentary lifestyle and incorrect posture when working at a desk. Sitting is not conducive to the health of the spine. Incorrect body posture can contribute to excessive stress, breathing problems and improper functioning of the circulatory system. The idea behind the project was to create an assistant for the body - a small piece of furniture used to relax the back and enable effortless stretching of the spine and opening the chest. The inspiration in the creation process were restorative yoga classes, which, with the help of bolsters, blocks and blankets, allow you to lay your body in relaxation. The adopted position promotes the reduction of cortisol in the human body, thus reducing stress and preventing its effects in a chronic condition. Thanks to the arc adjustment, the position on the furniture is adapted to the individual needs of the user.

mirror MAIN IDEA: In this project I decided to upcycle beveled mirror in order to hide its imperfections and corner material chippings by making a statement frame. My main inspiration was my favourite color - the International Klein Blue. I used two 80 mm MDF panels and obtained an irregular shape using a wood jigsaw. I doubled the layer and chose the color of the powder coating in order to get more depth. The layers were glued together thsn powder coated.

THE GARMENT OF SOLITUDE ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS, INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
health-enhancing clothing design MAIN IDEA: The design of a scarf filled with a weighting and warming cherry seed insert is a response to the problem of loneliness that young people face more and more often. The self-therapeutic shawl can be used for active work with the body, support during exercise or help you rest while still. The cherry seeds contained in it are a natural hot water bottle - scarf requires only few minutes in microwave montserrat regular or the oven to get pleasantly warm and give aromatic sensations. Thanks aąbcćdeęfghijklłkmńoóprsśtuwyzźż to that filling solution the shawl heats up and adds weight to it, giving a AĄBCĆDEĘFGHIJKLŁMNŃOÓPRSŚTUWYZŹŻ senseofhuggingandrelaxingthemuscles.

Its form has been designed in such a way that the whole piece wraps the body without restricting its movements. At the same time, the scarf is symmetrical, which allows it to be folded and shaped according to the needs.

HANDBOOK OF POSITIVE THINKING ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS, INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
thoughts programming MAIN IDEA: The project assumed the creation of a process supporting positive thinking in a colleague from the group. The problem that my colleague struggled with was the lack of confidence in her abilities and undermining her own competence. As a response, I designed and created a notebook that encourages to notice and celebrate successes, both small and large. My colleague in her spare time likes making handicarfts for relaxation so format of pages was design specifically for making origami.

rethinking elements of architecture Julia Lisowska | Caterina Fabbrici
MAIN IDEA: Assignment was focused on rethinking elements of architecture in terms of progressing global warming and its effects on the urban environment. Main aim was to create an evergreen façade that could reduce urban heat island effect. In our project we focused on gutters, water outflow and drainage.
HYPODRONIC WICK SYSTEM plants: ivy, ficus pumila coconut layer drainage tray
We cerated modular system of pipes and pots. Inside there is a hydroponics system that allows the greenery to grow and be long-lasting. We decided to use climbing evergreen plants for easy montserrat regular maintenance. That planting system not only aąbcćdeęfghijklłkmńoóprsśtuwyzźż enables rainwater collection for watering the plants, but also it gives AĄBCĆDEĘFGHIJKLŁMNŃOÓPRSŚTUWYZŹŻ support in times of flood and drought in an urban space.
wick system for water intake
Final form is the effect of connecting hypodronic planting system, modular solution (so it would be easy to transport and assemble) and Jugendstil aesthetics. Due to the presence of the plants and the system of pipes, the empty scorned façade can be retaken to its beauty, according to the Vienna architectural style.

social municipal building
MAIN IDEA: Project assignment was to create a conceptual design of a multi-family municipal building located in city of Kamienna Góra. The idea of the project consists primarily of external conditions: object context surrounded by a conservation area, local spatial development plan, construction law, geotechnical conditions and investor guidelines - mayor of the city of Kamienna Góra. In my project I decided to divde montserrat regular whole object with single-flight staircases this way objects was transformed into a aąbcćdeęfghijklłkmńoóprsśtuwyzźż hybrid between a terraced houses and apartment building. SERRE URBANE UNIVERSITA DEGLI STUDI DI GENOVA, ARCHITECTURE
reurbanisation Julia Lisowska | Janelle Fillon
MAIN IDEA: The aim of a project was reurbanisation of abandoned hospital in Albenga, its surroundings as well as making connections with the city. The building is located within walls of the historical old town. Its sud facade faces the river. We decided to open spaces, redesign them and make connections. Our goal was to make a link between cultural heritage, its origins and needs of nowadays citizens. Glasshouses are big part of Albenga economy as well as urban structure. That's why it inspired us to bring the form into our design. We decided to put the serre-like structure in the city center at the very same time to highlight the contrast of an oldtown buildings as well as to represent nowadays Albenga. Inside we wanted to promote local goods which are food, olives, cheeses, wine as well as gardens with orchids and succulents, markets, cafes, bed&breakfast and working spaces. We belive that the mix of different functions, that characterizes the city, locked within the building as well as smart connentions of building with its sourroundings is a key to revive urban structure and to bring people together.

COSTAL DESIGN UNIVERSITA DEGLI STUDI DI GENOVA, ARCHITECTURE
city layers, water rise and future thinking Julia Lisowska | Anna Piątek
MAIN IDEA: Conceptual design of a multi-service buildings complex in the port of Genova, Italy. The main goal of a project was to create a multifunctional place, both attractive for tourists and citizens. Design was inspired by multi-layer character of a city of Genova as well as transformative mat-projects. We wanted to create not only urban space but also a system that enables for changes and adjustments for future needs. We proposed additional permanent layer in the form of terrace intended to provide shadow, be a meeting place filled with temporary structures, pavilions and providing a panoramic view over the sea. The terrace structure also is a connecting link between a complex of building, which are not permanently fixed; they can evolve, disappear, be transformed according to the needs of city residents.
