Dear Supporter,
The Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC) is an organization dedicated to advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration and training We invest dollars and time directly in the community, working collaboratively with community-based organizations
Your support is invaluable to us, and we believe it’s crucial to keep you informed about our ongoing impact. We are excited to share the impacts of your gifts and our intentional spending in 2023-2024 at JLC.
2023 was a year of re-evaluation, focus, and expansion JLC welcomed an expanded list of community partners whose organizations serve communities within our new focus area: children’s mental and physical health Our member volunteers served at over 10 community-based organizations via our Community Partners, Done in a Day and Week of Service programs. We expanded our fundraising efforts in support of this work. The Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) raised funds that allowed us to fulfill our mission and awareness around the impacts of poverty. JLC members also developed new and exciting social events that not only connected our members, but allowed for us to intentionally increase contributions to our Annual Fund, resulting in our exceeding our fundraising goals
With a focus on members, leadership continued the valuable work of rightsizing and restructuring our leadership model to be more efficient and effective for member experiences. We evaluated and developed our next strategic plan which will guide how the organization continues to impact the community as we approach our 100 year anniversary.
Finally, we invested in our organization JLC made necessary operational investments ensuring that we are able to serve members and the broader community via our building In 2023-34 we replaced the roof, improved wifi, replaced AV equipment, and insulated our attic which not only cut heating and cooling costs, but allows us to offer reliable event space to community members at an affordable rate.
Every step we’ve taken and every achievement we’ve made has been possible because of your unwavering support. We are truly grateful for your commitment to our cause
Our 2023-2024 Annual Report documents our impact by the numbers, and we are excited to share this information with you.
Thank you for your continued support of the Junior League of Charlotte.

As the 2023-24 Sustainer President of the Junior League of Charlotte, I am thrilled to reflect on a year filled with remarkable achievements and dedicated service. The Sustainer leadership team, composed of truly talented and committed women, has made significant strides in enhancing our community and supporting the League. Here are some highlights from our year:
We partnered with the Provisionals to support our events, providing them with valuable insights into event production
We organized an exciting and memorable trip to New York City for our Sustainers
Our inaugural Mahjong tournament was a resounding success
We continued to host beloved events, including the Wine Kick-off, Fall Luncheon, Duke Mansion Luncheon, Emeritus Tea, Spring Cocktail Party, and various transfer events
We made strides towards a cohesive #OneJLC experience
The Sustainer Facebook page grew from 84 to 248 members
We maintained a strong presence at JLC General Meetings.
Our successful events enabled us to contribute meaningfully to the JLC building, including providing high-top cocktail tables, tablecloths, and large planters for the building’s front Additionally, we dedicated time to creating beautiful gardens, polishing silver, and conducting an inventory of kitchen items.
Moreover, the JLC Sustainers made a significant donation to Reid Park School, further demonstrating our commitment to community support.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year so successful The collaboration, enthusiasm, and dedication of the Sustainer leadership team have truly made a difference.
With gratitude,
Lori Anne Emlong
Sustainer President

I was thrilled to be a part of the Done in A Day committee. Since DIAD provides one-time support for nonprofit organizations, I had the chancetoengageinavarietyofopportunities.
Whether it was arts and crafts at the library's Epic Fest, playing lawn games at MS Walks, or helping Girl Scouts develop their skills, I was exposed to the remarkable efforts organizations aremakinginourcommunity.
It was not only enjoyable to participate in these events, but contributing to these worthy causes also provided a heartwarming experience time andtimeagain.
These organizations gratitude for the JLC support was immense, and I felt equally grateful and honored to be part of of them observing our community unite to support thoseinneed.
This coming league year will be my third year volunteering with TCFF. It has been a wonderfulexperience.
We have truly been able to build relationships withthechildrenandtheirmentors.
Throughout the years, I have seen the children grow and watch them learn and express themselves through the after-school programmingJLCvolunteershelpwith.
It is truly heartwarming to see how each child's personalityshinesthrougheachexercise.
The team at Thompson is also amazing. You can tell they truly care about their work and the children and it makes for a fun and connected volunteer experience, hence why I keep coming back
